  1. Funny thing is it is not isolated to Celebrity. I've recently been hanging out on Oceania forum a bit and some one wrote me recently --- I though Celebrity had a tough crowds some of these people are just down right nasty. Like you when I find a person on CC or FB that I find offensive I either put them on my ignore list (cc) or Ban list (FB). You may notice that I try to always stay above the Frey and just move on - life is far to short to waste time arguing with someone who's intent is to disrupt.
  2. They don't move drawers - All items in drawers, counters and bathroom must be put in suitcases. They then just move the suitecase to the new room. Also I usually put the extension Cord I request, special pillows and Blanket on top along with backpack etc and they move it all. Only items on Hangers in closet are moved unpacked. In RS and above we have laundry done in advance so most everything is on hangers.
  3. They usually have some TA's in the Spring and Fall that may have stops in Tahiti. In April both Edge and Solstice will be doing a Sydney to Honolulu and then onto Vancouver. If I am not incorrect Edge will be stopping in Raiatea, French Polynesia, Tahiti and Moorea Island while Solstice will be skipping Tahitian Islands and will be doing New Caledonia, Fiji, Vanuatu, and Somoa (both side of international date line). I'm on Solstice.
  4. Agree.... I remember setting up a Roll Call 23 years ago. While there were not as many participants everyone was very active and We had a party in our RS for about 30. For some reason that Roll Call all the participants really became close both before and after the cruise. I look back to those days with fondness. While CC doesn't permit us to discuss TA (even back in the Good Old Days) there are ways to communicate outside the restrictions and I receive a couple emails a week from people asking for a reference. Having said that I'm surprised at how many personal e-mail I receive when doing a Live Post from people that respond to something I say. All too many no longer post on CC or Facebook because of being attacked, demeaned and insulted by others and now refuse to post publicly.
  5. On the App in Know before you go - "A cancellation fee policy applies to our specialty restaurants. " I'm sure if you were to cancel you would do so more than 24 hours prior to dining. I think they have now also changed the cancellation policy for excursions to 2 days from excursions from 1 day.
  6. Wonder if you could give a hint to finding one of these Prim-O TA's. I know you can't recommend an agent here but possibly you could give me a hint via email in my signature. We are looking for a filler cruise for sometime this summer.
  7. If you transferred your booking to a TA they now own the reservation and you will have to call them to service your booking.
  8. With due respect, I always book with an Agent and yes it is coming from somewhere, in my case It is coming from sharing his commission. Cruising pays the highest commission in the travel industry and many like mine that are high volume booking agents get even higher over-rides. They attract more customers by giving back some of their commission and make up for it in Volume. I personally don't see it as my money coming back as If I didn't use an agent I would be loosing a 10% concession. BTW mine is also is willing to take it off the front end or send a check after the cruise instead of giving an OBC.
  9. I think if you read the T&C you will be refunded 100% to original form of payment but does have some wording that - "Cancelled packages are subject to full cover charges and there are no refunds for unused amounts." My experience is that if you were to cancel less than 1 day prior they could refuse a refund, but I've never seen it enforced.
  10. That will never happen. Luminae and Blu were designed to only have sufficient seating for the number of rooms they have designated for Aqua and Suites. Even with current seating there is usually a waiting line on first night and on Chic nights.
  11. You don't actually have to enter anything. They will take care of it at the Terminal. BTH - and you may need to check on this, I believe she may need her Birth Certificate and a Drivers License. The Marriage Certificate is only used to tie the name on the License to her Birth Certificate. There was a recent post on this from someone who did not bring their Birth Certificate and were denied boarding until her son sent a photo of her BC which they accepted.
  12. You should have no problems. Just take your Transit Card - leave between 7-9AM and return after lunch. They will have a special desk setup for B2B (Transit Passengers). For your cabin - we usually make contact with our new Stateroom Attendant and ask to call our room when the current occupant leaves their room. When they call we swap contents of our Room Safe. I think people are asked to be out of their room by 8:00 buy many leave when the go down to breakfast. Most of the time they ask you to pack up anything in your room in drawers and leave hanging items in closet . They move the hanging items without having to be packed. Having said that on the World Cruise since there were so many B2B's (1,200+) they asked for everything to be packed up.
  13. You will love it. It is only for a couple hours but it is so peaceful. al Bacio is open and nice to sit and enjoy coffee with no loud music and places to sit.
  14. I always recommend Expect the worst cabin in the category and be happy if the room is better. On a number of occasions on a Guarantee I received a Accessible Cabin, which isn't my favorite.
  15. That I am not sure of. I looked at the advert - and really lacking in description of anything included. The first line makes me cringe, but we know how good Celebrity IT team is. I can see what you mean in the APP. That of course is not shown on the S-Class. If included you may find some value as a Bar Setup in Room has gone up to $208.99+20% grat. on Sale from $230 for Premium 1 liter bottle. Maybe I should book it for Iain and not use the Cabana. LOL instead of booking a Bar Setup. With their great IT on our next 2 cruises I purchased the bar setup under Gifts for $120 but they plugged that loophole recently. *************************************************************** Overview It’s the perfect escape – within your vacation escape. 16. I can't say I'm fond of the TV coming down from the Ceiling in the bedroom. Rather awkward to avoid hitting your head if on the inside and get up in the middle of the night.
  17. I'm assuming you are saying you already have access to Retreat, as to my knowledge the Cabana does not include access to Retreat for non-suite passengers. Never would book one - About a year ago you got a Liter Bottle of Premium Liquor and things like beer. Now they have removed that. There was at least value to some with that deal. I would look at a ships tour on YouTube to see if you would enjoy. Purely my opinion is why would anyone want to spend money to sit on a hallway open to the public and facing the Magic Carpet on many of the ships. Even the revised plan facing the pool I just don't understand. The only time I've ever seen them used was a Travel Agent that reserved the larger size and then entertained some of his booked guests.
  18. That's a double ouch. Does bring back good memories of both.
  19. No. I can speak from experience. When Iain starts snoring and I take refuge in the living room I still have to use my Bose. That is something I don't have to do in a M or S Class. If I turn on the TV early it will also disturb his sleeping. Of course I wouldn't seek revenge. They are also frosted glass which floods the bedroom with light if the other person opens. Another third world problem I complain about is that the two TV's are lined up and If I turn on the TV in the Living Room it will also turn the TV on in the bedroom. I've learned to shield the remote with a cupped hand. Just one more design failure - in really heavy seas even when closed they will slide open and then Slam back - I usually have to wedge a book or magazine in the jamb to keep in place.
  20. LOL --- I sure couldn't imagine you bringing it to Al Bacio and doing your laundry while having coffee. LOL. I actually like the idea but luckily we get unlimited free laundry. Anything delicate I send out for dry cleaning.
  21. This thread on his passing was from 4 years ago.
  22. But you you used it in your room not making the assumption you would bring it to an open space on the ship to use.
  23. I would doubt very much that a vintage machine as you describe would be dual voltage. I'm not even sure dual voltage was available before the 80's or 90's Personally I would think it a bad idea to assume you can use such a machine in public spaces. I know they have 220 outlets on the baseboard for housekeeping - they do not have electrical outlets readily available even in Retreat.
