  1. I know there's one in the Penthouse on M-Class Ships. So shouldn't be a power issue.
  2. Look in the app for a current cruise on your ship.
  3. I just wished you could ask to put the corn soup in the microwave and heat it up.
  4. Good question. Unlike the points your receive for a cruise which you don't earn until the end of the cruise and don't show up in your account for about 10 day. You earned your PUP's prior to the cruise and your account was updated on the cruise, I would think you have a compelling request to the CC Host.
  5. I am probably the same as others and often give out additional gratuities but starting to think with the increase of Gratuities to 20%. When you go out to a fine dining restaurant on land - Do you tip more than 20% ? I'm getting to the point of when does it end when every time you buy something they make you push a button and select the amount of tip. Often you feel compelled to leave a tip when the person is looking at you as you complete your transaction.
  6. You will continue to get mass mailing with no filtering for what you may have completed .
  7. Like many others we have begun straying from the Celebrity fold. I booked our first Oceania cruise (2025) and will probably be booking something with them before. They have free wines, beers etc for all cabins regardless of class with meals but for other times you either pay al la carte or can upgrade for the Premium (anytime) for $30 pp/pd and both parties don't need to purchase. Our suite also comes with a choice of Liquors (6 bottles - 1 liter bottles of liquors ore wine - you can mix and match wine and liquor and wine taken to dining room no Corkage but supposedly you can't take Liquor outside your room. You can bring unlimited beer and supposedly 6 bottles of wine at embarkation and aboard at all the ports. Corkage is $25 for your own wine. Now just a peek at one of the wine menus - I can already hear the gasps when compared to Celebrity. They have 5 specialty restaurants an all are free for all cabin classes (On Oceania all guests are treated the same). The difference is by room classification the timing and number of pre-cruise reservations you can make.
  8. Was on Edge in December on the First Australia / New Zealand cruises. All prices were increased by 20% and the Max price of the Premium was uplifted to 21.69 ($18 + 20%). My understanding is Australian and New Zealand Law require all prices have to be the actual price and not an add on with tax like in the U.S. In our case we were never charged an up charge in Luminae or Retreat. The biggest problem was they were out of a large number of wine choices.
  9. Try clearing your cache or use a different browser. I've had a problem before and clearing the Cache and Cookies fixed it .
  10. Thank you all for your quick reply. It really helps. The one Q6 available is 9001 which @Austcruiser84 mentioned was adjacent to Churchill Cigar Bar. Now the final question. This cruise is out in 2025 so plenty of time. We have our first Cunard cruise booked for 2024. Is it better to hold off booking until our cruise in November 2024 and book this one while on board. Most cruise line have a promotional on-board booking program. Ok - an add on to that question. When reading Cunard site it says you can cancel at anytime prior to final payment without any penalty. If this is true it might make sense to book now and if I get a better offer onboard then cancel and rebook with the OBC offer for booking on-board.
  11. @1985rz1 and @babysteps - Thanks so much. Everyone here is so helpful. This is going to be a fun new adventure. It will be interesting to see how much we participate, We rarely go to Show and Captain's Cocktail. Maybe we will have to break with old habits. Free drinks have never been a priority and often our schedules don't work with a 5 or 5:30 Cocktail Party. Being European we eat really late e.g. 9:00 or as late as possible (I haven't even looked into this yet) - 5-5:30 is when we are usually cleaning up and starting to get dressed for the evening. We enjoy a cruise as a place to live at sea and really don't need to be entertained constantly. I told Iain I might not even leave the Owner's Suite.....LOL.
  12. Thanks -- I'll be hanging out here on Oceania. We have sailed exclusively on Celebrity for 23 years and like many other newbies here are refugees. While we will still sail some on Celebrity I have a feeling we may be booking something else on Oceania real soon. The more we research the more we like Oceania. I actually like how they have the option of thins like drink packages. As a Zenith on Celebrity we get Free Premium Internet and Premium Drink Packages etc but all the Loyalty benefits go away when you can't book suites without the perks included in your base fare.
  13. Thanks much. After I relayed the message, Iain said you should have read the email from our TA he said you could upgrade for $30... LOL. I just couldn't figure out when I looked for the upgrade on our reservation that it showed that huge price. I'm happy they allow only one party to order an upgrade. We have been successful in only ordering one upgrade when I explain that I can't drink for medical reason's. They have never forced the issue. I can understand why they do it to prevent one person getting the package and buying drinks for others. They will make a profit on me as I can't drink beer, wine or liquor. Unfortunately it triggers Migraines.
  14. I'm rather new here and hoping someone can explain the difference between a Q5, Q6 and Q7 classification. Is it purely location? I noticed on a cruise I'm looking at the Q7's on QM2 are already sold out, there is 1 Q6 left and lots of Q5. Thanks for the help.
  15. One warning for those that will be on ships with Starlink. There are a number of countries that haven't authorized Starlink in their country or waters as of yet. Some of the countries i've read about on Celebrity that had Starlink disabled when in their waters was India, Vietnam and South Africa. Elon Musk is working to create partnerships to allow access. It is available in 70 countries. When in those countries they had to use their old technology.
  16. @Carnevale I hope you don't mind me tacking on a question. I'm learning so much from this thread. We also just booked our first Oceania cruise on Vista yesterday. Please feel free to correct any wrong "assumptions" I think I now understand the Simply More is included with all new bookings like ours. I don't have a Oceania Invoice, as I booked direct with a TA and have a confirmation on their paperwork. I will ask for a copy of the Oceania Invoice for my records. We book an Owner Suite so as I understand we get something like 6 bottles of a combination Liquor and Wine list for the suite and that wine can be brought to the restaurants without a corkage fee. I don't drink Alcohol but enjoy sparkling waters like San Pellegrino and Starbucks like Cappuccino - not sure if these are included but would be interested in the cost of barista prepared coffee's. OK now my question - I have read hear that one can upgrade the included drink package to the premium drink package for $30/pp/pd. My husband likes a couple Grey Goose and Tonics before dinner. Of course we will have plenty of that in our room. When I looked at my booking on Oceania Site under drink packages it shows this - which is 69.95 a day. Is this there for people that have no package or is this truly what one would pay for the Premium package if you have the SM. If so we will probably not be visiting the public lounges for cocktails while if it were $300 a day we might.
  17. While I have never asked I doubt they would take any item back in the kitchen and heat it again. Just seems like a violation of their food health and safety protocol. With due respect I think your request may be well over the top of what they would do even for a suite passenger. I know they make hot chocolate at Al Bacio maybe you could order a Latte and and hold the coffee --- they actually take all types of milk and steam them for cappuccino's and Latte's
  18. If I recall correctly when you check in at the YCat terminal they tag your bags for the terminal and you just give them to a porter. When the bus arrive at the terminal there are 5 or 6 baggage handlers curbside with white gloves on. They bow to the bus when it arrives and then unload the bags where you retrieve for Airline Checkin. Since we had an extra day in Yokohama we had actually walked down to the Terminal and checked out so we knew where things were laid out. They really have it well planned. Not like US Bus/Train stations.
  19. My understanding is that to modify the official record you may have to call in. Years back there was a problem that a Jr was attached to my name even though I had never been a Jr. It was causing all kinds of problems as it didn't match my reservations. Every time I would modify it - it would come back. They fixed it quickly with one phone call. Regarding your reservations. They have to each be individually changed either by your agent or Celebrity. After they are booked any changes to your account have no affect on current reservations.
  20. You might do best by getting a Sim or e-Sim for the region you will be sailing. There is an App called Airalo. They have accounts as low as 4.50 for 7 day 1 GB of data I believe for all Sim's you need an unlocked phone (carriers unlock when you pay off a contract or buy without a contrace) Might even be cheaper to buy a burner phone - First I would check with your carrier even if a small carrier and find out if they have any data roaming packages. It might be sets to call them and ask with your specifics. After all Alaska is part of the U.S. so is covered under most cell phone roaming.
  21. If you are Elite or higher you will get free internet minutes that can be used incrementally so you can log on check and then log off If not they do have an option of 1 hour or 1 day but they are Continuous - So if you bought a 1 hour package it is good for 60 minutes starting from when you first log on and is not cumulative. Same for the 1 day pass.
  22. Although they may say that the ship arrives at 3:00 AM disembarkation will not begin until approximately 7:00 AM - They will do the normal disembarkation with walk off first. Last call is usually about 9:00 AM. I don't recall them having airport shuttle but wouldn't be surprised if they do. Usually when you are paying for a Shuttle per person it is more expensive than if you arranged private transport. On our last cruise cruise to a Japan was a B2B so we had time to explore options on the turn around day. We found that the best for us was Yokohama First Class Bus Service.cab https://hnd-bus.com/airport/n-yokohama/ We grabbed a cab at the Yokohama Cruise Terminal to YCAT (Yokohama City Air Terminal) The terminal is a medium size room with a separate entrance in the Yokohama Rail Terminal. They have busses called Airport Limousines about every half hour to all of the airports. The busses are really nice and even have wifi. They drop you right at the door of each terminal. Very relaxed and comfortable way to make the connection. You can book in advance and they have a Senior Fare for those 65+ 2,200 (about $15) yen vs 3,700 yen
  23. When in a RS you don't receive a bill at all. If you purchase a bottle of wind they show the price of the bottle less any CC discount and then add 20% of that amount as a line item on your invoice. If you purchase Specialty OnLine prior to cruise they automatically add the 20% onto the price at checkout as a separate line. If prepaid you also will not receive an invoice in the restaurant at the end of the meal. If you book on the ship you will receive an Bill for the Meal minus any cc discount and the 20% will be shown as a separate line.
  24. Enjoyed read your well written comparison. Thanks for taking the time.
  25. I have to agree with others. I use to tip extra at the Specialty Restaurants, but when they began adding 20% Gratuity to the price of my bill and 20% on bottles of wine, I consider that a reasonable tip and no longer tip additional. Maybe others are more generous tippers than I, but at home when I go out to dinner I tip in the 18-20% range. Now if I were having a large party where they have a mandatory tip of 20% tip for groups of 6 or more I also do not feel inclined to tip extra unless the experience was above an beyond to that would be normal.
