  1. Interesting to hear. What type of phone. I have had T-Mobile for 10+ years using and iPhone and have never had to do a reboot to get it to work. Usually as soon as I tun off Airplane mode I get a text message welcoming me to the country and outlines the 5G connection and the cost to make a phone call of 25C per minute.
  2. Don't know about Conundrum but The whole month of December Iain was drinking Grey Goose and Tonic in Retreat every night at no upcharge.
  3. My experience on all the E-Class ship is the Samsung Remotes no longer work. The TV's are now just a dumb terminal and the page you see is just a URL link. Easy work around - an IT guy taught me. Used it last month on Edge Press the CC button Press menu button Go to the End Next page go to the end and choose Input https://youtu.be/zYQb4QlCHAA
  4. CC does not permit private messages. You would need to post your email with eg. xxxx at Gmail dot com
  5. I believe it may depend on the cabin class you are in. All the upper suites I've been in CS, RS and PH the TV's are fixed to the wall. I have however always been able to get my hand in back and put an HDMI extender in to make it easier to plug my HDMI device in. A RS was especially hard and I had the Butler call IT who came up and installed it for me. Unlike some of the older Samsung the ones I've experience on Edge Class have the ports in about 9" from the right edge of the TV. Last month I brought along a pair of Long Forecepts and they helped.
  6. Best way is to turn on Airplane Mode. It should leave WiFi on and you can then logo onto the ships WiFi. If not you can turn on WiFi but leave in airplane mode.
  7. I would check back with them, It appears you reached an agent that is uniformed. Please reference the link below on Celebrity Website. My bags were once sent to the naughty room and they held the extension cord for the cruise. Quite a hassle. I had an extension cord delivered as recently as last month on Edge and always have one delivered. If you do bring one a 10-12 foot one would suffice even in a RS or PS. The following are examples of items that guests are not allowed to bring onboard. These and other similar items will be confiscated upon being found. 8. Hi Al --- Beware for what you ask. The cruise was a combination of 3 cruises with a weeks break inbetween the first two segments in Amsterdam. A big caveat - we did not sail out of Rotterdam. Due to restrictions in Amsterdam our first cruise ended in Rotterdam and we then spent a week in Amsterdam To help sorting through the overly long Live - 4/15-4/22 Caribbean 4/22-5/07 TransAtlantic, Ireland and UK ending in Rotterdam 5/07-5/14 Land Trip in Amsterdam 5/14 -5/25 British Isles out of Amsterdam ending in Rotterdam
  9. Celebrity use to confiscate and hold extension cords. I always just ask for one pre-cruise and it is in my room either when we arrive or delivered shortly after checking in. The cords that are delivered are probably 12-15 feet in length and the cabin attendant will put duct tape over it to prevent trip hazard. The need will vary according to which ship you are on and if the ship has been revolutionized. On Edge Class ships there are 110 V electrical outlets next to the bed. I've been on some S-Class revolutionized ships and they had a plug on the wall next to the bed also. You can either just ask your room attendant for one when you first meet him or fill out a Special Needs Form in advance. They also supply distilled water.
  10. I almost always put my phone on airplane mode immediately after getting aboard and firing up my Internet with WiFi calling turned on. I talk to one of my daughters daily and allows me to stay in contact. Recently I forgot to put on Airplane mode but awhile later got an alert from T-Mobile that I should put it on airplane mode. I did not incur any additional charges but glad I was warned before I did. From the ships wifi I can send emails, place and receive phone calls and get text messages. Since we have T-Mobile with free internet in 198 countries I turn off Airplane mode when in port and use it mostly for mapping but also to find Iain using Find My when we get separated.
  11. I was just using it to hold a room until my Travel Agent was back in the office. On both of mine it expired at 48 hours from when I made the booking and then was able to put it back on hold again. This weekend I've been having trouble logging on. I almost always have to put in my credentials 2x before it takes me to my bookings.
  12. On one of my cruises I got that message. It made not sense as we were traveling with My SIL/BIL from Scotland and we were paying for their fare and all charges were on my U.S. Credit Card. I contacted my Travel Agent and he was able to fix it in less than 5 minutes.
  13. I don't believe status will help. As a Zenith I also had to have the Concierge message the ship. The main reason is that the Ships Reservation does not open (even for the Maitre 'd) until the day before the cruise. At that time the Maitre 'd handles all the upper suite requests and other requests sent to them. With due respect about 80% of the ship have at least Elite Status and it often doesn't do much.
  14. I've also used Rome Cabs (they don't use cabs... just their name), they use nice Mercedes and nicely dressed drivers. Driver have always been early, courteous and attentive to detail. Never had a failure with them even when I was delayed. They waited and still got me to my destination on time. They will be just outside the terminal with a sign with you name in hand.
  15. I'm in the same camp as you. I recently did my own research and then contacted an Agent I have worked with for the past couple years that provides either an upfront discount or OBC to do the booking. I already knew the date of the cruise and the room I wanted. After I booked I had him change the room 2x until I had the room I wanted. In the U.S. there are many agents that offer a 5-10% credit for bookings. For that I'm willing to do the footwork.
  16. I did one both yesterday and another today without problem. Possibly clear your cache or use a different browser and try again.
  17. I do something similar to you except - I do a mock booking up to the Category Selection and then book mark that page like below. It then allow me to quick check room prices and can check to see how many cabins if I want to check by category. https://www.celebritycruises.com/booking-cruise/selectRoom/stateroomCategory?pID=SL11H036&sDT=2024-04-25&sCD=SL&sCT=CO&roomQuantity=1 For checking room availability I find the best for me is to us AA.Com site and do a mock booking. They have maps of open rooms by category with green squares on available rooms.
  18. I had the same dilemma. The reservations were joined but could not book a reservation for 4. I ended up booking two reservations for two and then had the Retreat Host call and combine them to a single reservation once on the ship.
  19. I have to agree with all of the recent posters. A 3-5 day cruise is just something we would not do. Even if we were to book a number of them a B2B2B2B's etc. Having to do turn around every 3-5 days would not be what I would call relaxing. These private islands are really of no interest to us at all.
  20. I've never figured out how they choose the booking. I always do all the bookings and pay with my credit card but about 1/2 the time Iain is the Record Holder and eligible for bidding etc.
  21. I would say the reason is we have stayed exclusively with Celebrity was we like their suites, their product, their food and their service. Things we Celebrity have been changing and maybe we are also.
  22. As others said - Layers are important but would recall make sure you bring Heavy Winter Jacket, winter gloves, scarf and ear muffs. Weather can be unpredictable and wind may be very harsh and chilling to the bone. I remember even with gloves my fingers were numb and ears chilled. It limited the amount of time I could stay on one of the open decks. On the other hand you could have no winds and warm sun.
  23. I've never upgraded except from a SS or CS to and Upper Suite. I don't believe you get the Drink Package if you don't have it but confirm you do get the extra 2 wifi connections. I bow to anyone that has upgraded from less than a SS and to an upper suite as they have real knowledge. The only amenities listed are Complimentary bottled water, soda, and beer stocked daily Unlimited lunch and dinner in all specialty restaurants Two complimentary bottles of premium spirits VIP canapés Complimentary laundry service (twice per cruise) Priority luggage delivery They do mention getting free internet and drinks package as part of the booking but has a Big * Of course they don't explain the *
  24. To be honest I think most will as they know if they don't their tips will be affected.
