  1. Even with Covid restrictions this was a favorite cruise. The excursion to Magellan Island is also a great one to see penguins. We unfortunately had to skip the Falklands because of Covid!
  2. We were there too! Managed not to get Covid! We still want to do the "Real" itinerary for Buenos Aires to Barcelona one day.
  3. When we did Trade Routes in 2022 Honfluer was the port. You will enjoy it ...great walking city...the shutlle was very convenient.
  4. Canada Geese are also very troublesome where we live!!! They make a huge mess!! We live in Michigan, Detroit area and the geese are definitely increasing in numbers. There seems to be no way to keep them off the grass, docks and some swim platforms on the stern of boats.
  5. they certainly lucked out with their NEW cabin!
  6. Over Torshavn on the Starboard side 3055 and 3057 are NOT good if you try to go to bed before the band stops playing. This space is also used regularly for rehearsals during the day...sometimes EARLY morning. We were fortunately able to be moved to another cabin after many sleepless nights/mornings.
  7. Everyone is suppose to walk/run in the same direction. Runners or faster walkers have always passed me ...never seen anyone act irritated! I think runners and strolling folks can share with no issues. I also like walking on top deck...even get a few stair climbs in! The promenade deck is one of my favorite things about the design of Viking Ships. Great for after dinner strolls too! We have been on deck three and never heard noise from the use of deck two. Way Forward on deck three you will be hear anchor noise if there are tender ports!
  8. that does seem silly....many years ago we swam in the aft pool late one night enjoying the stars! People must have abused that option :(! Maybe speak to the general manager about extending hours! Depending on itinerary one of our favorite places for leaving port.
  9. Good Luck!!! Great price if it true!!! Keeping fingers crossed for you1
  10. that is a great deal....too bad we are headed for European Rivers this fall....will keep my fingers crossed for next year.
  11. We were staying in Amsterdam and there was a stop close. I do think there is a stop very close to where the ship docks ( but I did read perhaps that convenient location will not be used in the future). Trade Routes is a great itinerary. We added Viking Shores and Fjords ( ended in Amsterdam) and the combination was OUTSTANDING.
  12. Sixtry to One . I am currently reading an historical fiction THE ROSE CODE by Kate Quinn. Admittedly I never new about Bletchley Park before the book so I loved these pictures! I wish we had longer in London, it would be fun to see it. When we do British Isle next Spring we are doing Gin and Garden extension in Oxford.
  13. There was no shuttle in Amsterdam the three times we have been there with Viking ( the last was Spring 2022). When we did the included canal tour I do not remember anyone getting off the boat. However, there is a canal boat that works much like a hop on hop off bus and there is a stop near the Anne Frank house ( you can use the same ticket to get back ). Make sure you buy tickets before you leave for the Anne Frank house.
  14. We were there!!! I was part of the film in launderette!
  15. The only way my husband could convince me to go to Antarctica was when Viking offered the Expedition Ship...I do want creature comforts. He realizes Viking's excursions will be a compromise but in reality snow shoeing , cross country skiing, and trecks lasting hours are getting to be a reach for us ( 73 yrs old). We were scheduled to go last December and his aortic valve decided to quit....we were so fortunate NOT to be in Antarctica when that happened! We will go hopefully in January! Friends who did go enjoyed the Viking Experience! You need to be flexible...most of their landings were NOT on the continent itself but the surrounding islands but they could not tell the difference.
  16. We really enjoyed "Trade Routes" as part of a 4 part cruise.
  17. While $25 deposit is an incentive for some....I like FREE silver spirit package! I'd rather have lower cruise fares than FREE Viking Air that can be problematic.
  18. does the Danube flow toward Amsterdam or toward Budapest how strong is the current?
  19. Madmedic V1 or V2 NOT over Torshavn but DV6 is. Look at the diagram. We prefer V1 we have not been bothered by restaurant noise. Some noise with V2 from Star Theater but especially when they put the anchor down or up if you are quite a bit forward. Works as a great alarm clock we were in 3003. Our very outside Balcony window ( not into the room) did break though during an especially bad storm while crossing the Bay of Biscay.
  20. never heard the laundry door on 5048 BUT Torshhavn all times of the day/night when in 3055....Viking moved us during a World Cruise thankfully. Beware of taking a guarantee cabin.
  21. You will find Viking very flexible and generous in the included beverages.
  22. I had a cameo spot in that video in the Laundry!!!
  23. When we were doing it I did not appreciate how special it was! It was a great cruise and welcome to Viking!
  24. Yes it was Jane!!! Senior memory! She was in the Owner's suite!
  25. There was a British TV personality onboard...Ann McDonald, I think, she was doing a review of the ship for her TV series about cruising. So glad we were able to visit St. Petersburg and Tallin!
