  1. Room service and gratuity has no charge but you can give a cash tip if you want to the person delivering. Suite you can get the regular room service plus you can order off the Dining room menu. I think room service is the best dining on the ship and there’s lots of it.
  2. Icon of the seas deck plan. https://www.cruisemapper.com/deckplans/Icon-Of-The-Seas-2110 Have a look at the aqua dome , A cross between 270 and the solarium on Ovation and Oasis Aqua theatre .
  3. Things may change? https://www.health.gov.au/health-alerts/covid-19/international-travel/cruise-travel
  4. It’s being renovated but should be open soon but have you ever stayed here? https://www.therussell.com.au
  5. Just booked the 16th ,my sister has a owner suite on the 26th. Im waiting for her to invite me ,then it’s free, if I ask ,I have to pay.
  6. The 16th and 26th are still available and cheap as chips . I’m looking at the 16th cruise to the islands. I can’t get anyone to go so I will probably go solo. 10 nights solo from $1800 in a inside and $2400 for a single balcony. It’s cheaper than being at home. The 26th Cruise is to the north island of N.Z. , It’s still available, This is today from a online agent.
  7. Ovation had a dry dock march 2021 before it went to Alaska.
  8. I don’t know why everyone panics about USD . Just buy most of everything before the cruise in AUD .
  9. I think things are different now because Florida will be past over supply and will be congested mess. In the northern winter all their ships head to the U.S . The start of 2024 they will have 7 ships that can take 6,000 passengers not to mention the 20 smaller ships operating on the east coast U.SA. China will probably still be closed and they will be desperate to find a home for a few ships over the northern winter. I don’t think it will be long before we have a year round ship. There’s speculation Anthem May be bumped to Alaska and Brilliance may stay here over 2024.
  10. I have sailed on explorer but we will give adventure a go next winter ,see how we go. P&O does have some good points , don’t get me wrong. Probably the thing I liked ,the passengers where all down to earth and extremely friendly. Certainly not pretentious, which I like. Personally I like to have kids around and see extended families having fun. But the food and coffee , we thought was a disaster .
  11. We are going to give them ago in June, sydney to Morton.
  12. I like Royal because it’s family friendly with some quality.
  13. I think there is some regulations. Like you have to get off a 4th world P&O ship so you can appreciate life in a 3rd world PNG village.
  14. I would be good if Royal did a bit of something out of the ordinary. Me and my friends would love to visit the PNG WW11 war sites on P&O but the food. I think the soldiers would have eaton better. I’m not into fine dining but I just want basic, fresh, good food.
  15. P&O has got some good itineraries but I would gladly pay twice the price for some decent food.
  16. That’s in the way of another cruise terminal? Yes but N.SW is pretty well stretched with the new airport , the services and there’s multiple Metros in the pipeline. I think the best option at the moment for a new terminal is to move some of the container terminal operations to Newcastle. Apparently there’s legislation that restriction Newcastle in favour of Port Botany and Newcastle is screaming about it.They want more containers. But GAV seems to be on a mission after coming back from Vanuatu.
  17. It doesn’t say when or what ship but I would say Navigator,April/May 2024 https://cruisepassenger.com.au/news/exclusive-royal-carribbean-expects-to-homeport-in-brisbane-year-round/
  18. Here’s a pretty good video on Icon . Do you think Royal Caribbean is becoming more like Disney all the time ?
  19. Interesting article Michael , thanks. A couple of things, oasis doesn’t tender and there’s not even a jetty on Lelepa . P.S If you are looking for a bargain, have a look at Ovation on the 16th of November ,that’s in a few weeks,It’s only half full . Even the Royal suite is available.
  20. I rather the Covid police to those Covid cougars.
  21. What about Utopia? It’s going to be in service early to mid 2024 . Everyone has forgot about it ,there’re’ s no port bookings for it . Do you think they may switch-a-roo it for wonder ?
