  1. This is ship/itinerary dependent of course. The DL has been a ghost town on the short Indy cruises (less D and up I'm sure). As an aside, the coffee machine was actually prepped and ready much earlier last month. One morning I passed a gentleman leaving with a warning that it was "broken." He should have stayed the extra 2 minutes it took me to empty the grounds. 🤣 His loss.
  2. She shouldn't have bid on a category that has locations she might find undesirable. Lesson learned.
  3. Strawberry banana daiquiri (requires finding a friendly bartender who agrees to toss a fresh banana from WJ or wherever that you bring him into the blender with the daiquiri mix). As a bonus, my wife (this is her concoction) usually winds up with either a giant sized drink or two drinks for one D voucher depending on available glasses since the banana vastly increases the volume. It also probably helps that she asks a bartender we've been using (and tipping) frequently.
  4. Not worth it to me, personally, because I enjoy the free food so much and have no trouble getting quick drink service or walking to the bar from our preferred Oasis Pool spot. After that, the chair, towel, pool, etc. just aren't important to me. Like most things cruise-related, it's a personal preference thing. All that said, when my generous FIL treated the family to an OTW cabana, the food was very good (I actually preferred the coconut crusted lobster sandwich to the plain lobster and filet was also very good). You obviously got a good price so if any part of it is appealing, try it.
  5. Been on Indy for a total of 11 nights in the past few months. Enjoy! Kinda chilly this morning by Florida standards as I'm sure you've noticed.
  6. Yes, this has been standard for a while now. As a WJ enthusiast, I appreciate it.
  7. Agreed. We did this on Indy last month although it was also partly b/c there were 5-6 ships leaving PC that day. There was an extended horn battle with Mariner too.
  8. That's funny, we love the food on Cococay so much (taco bar, chicken sandwiches, funnel cake) that we don't expect to be super hungry for dinner on those days.
  9. Yes, you are each expected to pick your own app, entree, pasta, and dessert. They are normal sized portions despite what you read. The pasta will be described as a half portion but even that is not small. Love the OG Giovanni's, especially the filet and the carbonara.
  10. Cafe Promenade sandwiches are one of the few things I don't eat on cruises... and I eat A LOT when I cruise. Not sure if more basic options would change that but it couldn't hurt. The type you're describing aren't appealing to me either.
  11. It should be 11-11 unless it has changed recently. Also, add wine and hard seltzer to that list.
  12. Same as Florida, can't trust the forecast that morning let alone this far out.
  13. Just be aware you can get unlimited cappuccinos, lattes, espressos, etc. from the self-serve machine in the Diamond Lounge without using vouchers. Only use them if you want something fancier or iced. Bottled water should be standard 16.9 oz.
  14. Yes, they're just loaded onto your card. Consider them digital vouchers. You can use them for just about any non-alcoholic drink on the ship... soda, fancy coffee, smoothie if there's a Vitality Cafe, bottled water, fresh squeezed OJ, virgin drinks (my young nieces became virgin daiquiri addicts on our last family cruise), etc.
  15. Are there no shady spots at all up there? (Yes, I'm lazy and June is too far away for me to have fully looked at Wonder; it will just make the wait feel longer.) On Harmony we used the cabanas for shade although it was pretty darn hot up there. I don't do the sun either, wife can handle limited amounts, so we usually find a solarium spot (suite deck not usually an option as you know) where I'm fully shaded and she can spend a bit of time in the sun (although she was content in the shade on Indy).
  16. Just to be clear, you'll definitely find better on land, but the WJ version was pretty good when I had it. It's fried food sitting on a buffet, just get it when it's hot and it's gonna at least be OK. I'm not that picky. If something is bad, move on to one of the other 100 choices. Safe drive. Enjoying reading about your unique extended itinerary and food reviews.
  17. That was my thought when he reacted like that... "Finally, an American is asking me for spicy, wait til he tastes THIS!" 🤣 Switching topics, if you come across British night in the WJ (Indy had one last month), the fish n chips looked better than the pic you posted. Most of the stuff wasn't great overall but I'm definitely not an expert on British food. I sent my friend in the UK pics of the trays and he said it looked awful. 🙈
  18. I use the majority of our 8 vouchers. I usually have her card when I order but you won't have a problem no matter what.
  19. Always one of out favorite items in WJ, especially when having dinner there. Asked for "spicy" on Indy this summer and the cook kinda smiled and said "ooh, you like spicy!" I was afraid he was going to give me ghost pepper spicy but it was delicious.
  20. My favorite WJ Indian dish. Had it on 3 separate Indy cruises since July.
  21. Only you can answer that. Bid whatever YOU feel the cost is worth to YOU. As an example, we could could have upgraded (not RoyalUp, straight upgrade) to a balcony for a steal of a total price recently but we never use our balcony when we have one so we just kept our interior and used the money for things we do value. Everyone has their own preferences. As others have mentioned, there is no known strategy as there are way too many variables and no one has the algorithm that site uses. GL whatever you do!
  22. It varies, even by cabin on the same ship. Went on 3 Indy cruises recently, 3 different cabins. Wife was fine with the 1st 2 (firm but acceptable). The last 1, only 4 cabins away from the previous cruise, was hard as concrete.
