Independence - 4 night Bahamas Trip - July 25th
OCSC Mike replied to blondcat's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Naturally you asked questions I can't really answer, lol. We don't eat in the MDR much (my wife is picky and I'm not a huge fan) and didn't use MTD. From what I've read, make reservations ASAP rather than just showing up. I have never been to the water park (no kids) and don't know exactly when it opens but I do know the line for the big slide can get EXTREMELY long. It seems logical to get settled at your day bed first but my understanding is you want to get to that water slide line ASAP just as you guessed. I can certainly recommend the food on Cococay. There are snack shacks (one inside the water park) with very good fried chicken sandwiches, mozzarella sticks, and funnel cakes (I've had UK friends tell me they don't know what a funnel cake is, if that's you, google it, then try it, they're amazing). The other included places to eat are Chill Grill and Skippers Grill (same exact menu). They have a nice taco bar, burgers, hot dogs, some sandwiches, brownies, cookies, etc. They also have ice cream machines similar to on the ship. You can put the ice cream between two large chocolate chip cookies for a wonderful ice cream sandwich. -

Just got off of a week on Indy this past Friday. Had a great time as usual. If you have any Indy or Cococay specific questions, ask away! Either way, have a great cruise! -
You're welcome. More specific info if interested...

You can use free government tests (or any FDA authorized test) & get proctored by 3rd party sites like RapidTestAndTrace online for $20. Results will be emailed during your 15-20 minute session while you’re still on the video call.

rooms available vs gty vs occupancy
OCSC Mike replied to miyanc's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I don’t know what the Android equivalent of the Apple Wallet is but if you bring up that bar code on one device & scan it with another you should see the numbers. The digits after the dash are your cabin number. -
Your favorite mixed drink aboard ship

Try "The Pitch" from Playmakers if available. It's an altered Long Island and I could certainly taste the alcohol. -
SELF-ASSIST EARLY DEPARTURE
OCSC Mike replied to QuickieGlenn's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It varies by ship/itinerary. As I mentioned above, the first 10 or so numbered groups were actually self-assist on Indy this past Friday. -
Labadee and CocoCay ships-in-port link?
OCSC Mike replied to Napalady's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Why do you care why anyone cares? Do they a need a reason that meets your approval? To the OP, cruisetimetables.com is another site you can use. -
Suite Classes - What's included?

SL is the other side of Coastal Kitchen. It's really just one big room. You can look up the deck plans in the app or the RC site or other sites like cruisedeckplans.com. -
SELF-ASSIST EARLY DEPARTURE
OCSC Mike replied to QuickieGlenn's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Pretty much but the time slots may vary by ship/itinerary. On our recent 4-nighter on Indy (2nd half of a B2B really), the first 10 or so time slots were assigned as self-assist since so many use it on short cruises I assume (I've only ever been on one cruise shorts than 7-nights before this). Self-assist ran from 7-8am or thereabouts. -

Hey John, my apologies but I failed you on the Playmakers request. We did have dinner there one night (great burgers and garlic parm fries) but I never got around to seeking out Alex. -

Loved Rodrigo and his staff in CK on Harmony 5/29. Filet on night one was excellent. The ribs for lunch were also one of my favorite meals. -
Price Adjustments still a thing?
OCSC Mike replied to PGHProducer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It is still a thing. Customer service has constantly been giving incorrect info. They keep citing whatever the covid-related deal was which has since expired. My FIL re-priced a family cruise for next June twice about a month ago after I alerted him to price drops. His phone calls went as you described. -

You also get free beer, wine, hard seltzer, soda, bottled water in the SL from 11-11 everyday. Your SL concierges should e-mail you about 6 days before sailing. You can have them make reservations for shows and Coastal Kitchen ahead of time along with any other requests. We had our first ever suite on Harmony 5/29 and the concierges (Junior & Elaine at the time) took care of lots of requests via e-mail ahead of time. Enjoy! -
That was basically my experience this past Monday.

DRINKS IN THE DIAMOND LOUNGE DURING HAPPY HOUR
OCSC Mike replied to jamscckmc's topic in Royal Caribbean International
On both my Harmony cruise on 5/29 and the Indy B2B I got off this morning, our Diamond drinks appeared in our account via the app (as $0.00) almost instantly. As mentioned above, this was also one way I kept track of how many my wife and I had used each day. -
We just got off a B2B and checked in for both. It made TAD go very quickly.

Yes on Harmony 5/29. Also, wine and Truly hard seltzer if that's of any interest. -
Balcony Guarantee Horror Stories
OCSC Mike replied to Lupush's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There are exceptions but it means you’re on deck 11. Add the set sail pass to your apple wallet (if you use Apple devices) or scan the bar code with another device. You will see numbers under the bar code. The numbers after the dash are your exact cabin number. -
Because 2 cruises in a month > 1? 😁 We’re only looking b/c we’re considering squeezing in 11 nights before next June so we can hit D+ on our already booked Wonder cruise. My wife is a teacher so we really only ever cruise in the summers but she has a new position & feels more comfortable using up some of her stockpile of saved vacation days now. Is it technically worth it just to get to D+ sooner? Of course not, but it’s hard not to be impatient when approaching a new level.

Thanks for sharing this. Not a big deal since we’re not ready to book & the price right now is already pretty darn low, but we were considering one of the Indy cruises listed (he types from the Indy Solarium).

Indy Port Canaveral Embarkation
OCSC Mike replied to RCIprincess4ever's topic in Royal Caribbean International
FWIW, we got to PC for Indy last Friday at 10am for our 10:30am arrival time & immediately entered the empty terminal. Boarding didn’t start until 11am of course but checking in early went as fast as humanly possible and we were on the ship by 11:10 or so as Diamonds without The Key.
