  1. Only been in a promenade view once (on Indy, sister ship) and the only noise we experienced came from the promenade itself during parties/parades so not sure the deck matters a ton.
  2. Very similar to how my wife realized she didn't need a balcony. Her parents always got one when she cruised as a kid. I had never cruised until our honeymoon and she said balcony so we got a balcony. Got a couple more balconies after that. Then when we were exactly 4 points from Diamond, I suggested we go on the cheapest 4-night cruise from PC (an hour drive for us) just to get there... then we could go back to a balcony. We got an interior and she liked it. We realized we hardly used our balcony and she likes making the interior dark and cold for the occasional quick afternoon nap. We call it our cave. Been sailing interiors ever since unless it's a family cruise and we're not paying.
  3. I'm sure the OP will appreciate the clarification. Yes, easy to take some things the wrong way online. Apologies for doing so.
  4. Yes, each cabin has a WAP (Wireless Access Point). You can think of it as a tiny router. The signal you pick up comes right from that little device, not somewhere outside your cabin where the door, walls, distance can stand in the way of the wi-fi signal like you've experienced on older ships. EDIT: I just got so confused. I clicked on the notification I got when you linked my post then was wondering where my response went. I only read/post in the RC forum since it's the only cruise line I've ever been on and I have no plans to try any other at the moment. Nothing against Carnival but get me out of here! 🤣
  5. For anyone unaware, you can usually find your cabin assignment after you check-in 45 days out before it is officially assigned using the "Bar Code Trick." Method 1. If you have an Apple device, add your set sail pass to your Apple wallet. Numbers will now appear under your bar code. The numbers after the dash represent your cabin. Method 2. Scan the bar code with a QR scanner from another device and that should also show you the numbers. NOTE: If you see "GTY" instead of numbers, you truly haven't been assigned yet. One tip off is that if you don't see a muster station on your set sail pass then you almost definitely don't have an assignment yet.
  6. They look like connecting promenade view to me. Hope you don't mind being connected to whomever is in the other cabin. 🙈
  7. That's kind of you. I hope you didn't feel the need to defend your choices though. It's your money and your life, enjoy your cruise how you see fit!
  8. My SIL treated our extended family to brunch. My picky wife was more interested in the savory/dinner items (like chicken pot pie, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, etc.) and was able to order them off the kids menu. Our server said it's the same exact pot pie you would get at dinner. Anyway, she enjoyed her stuff and I could eat 75% of both menus, lol. My thought was to try dinner when we went back without the family but since I really liked some of the breakfasty items and she was happy ordering what she liked for brunch/lunch, we'll likely just be frugal and do brunch again.
  9. Sadly, it's typical in forum-land. For some reason people really care how others spend their time and money when they cruise. As long as you're not harming others, do what you want and enjoy!
  10. This is the correct answer (as the poster knows). I always see my wife's points because she cruised as a kid and my 1st cruise was our honeymoon. I married into Emerald (was going to hold out for Diamond but I kinda liked her). What we can't figure out is why my MIL got credit for our honeymoon cruise. If she was there, we certainly didn't see her. 🤣
  11. Both wife and I grew up in the Philly 'burbs, and our parents are from NE Philly (wife's dad is Italian). I'm not as strict about quality of Italian food as you are but I totally get it. Try finding an edible, let alone good, cheesesteak in our area. 🙈 We loved GT on multiple ships and will still likely try GK at some point (BOGO as we have both mentioned).
  12. Food is very subjective. I like asking about opinions but I’d never rule out anywhere without trying it if it looks appealing to me & my wife. Mason Jar on Wonder seemed to have very mixed reviews. We had brunch there last month & liked it so much we plan to go every time it’s an option.
  13. Thanks. Never eaten at Kitchen but Table had always been a favorite of ours. Have read many mixed reviews of GK & will be on Wonder several times next year. At least if we decide to try it, it will be with a D+ BOGO.
  14. It has not returned post-covid. Could it return at some point? 🤷‍♀️
  15. My semi-live trip report from last month...
  16. If you haven't scheduled shows yet (meaning they are almost certainly showing as sold out), definitely that.
  17. Congrats! I was happy enough to be treated to one 28-pointer from suite/covid quadruple points. One more suite last month (again, courtesy of generous FIL) put us in reach of D+. We'll hit it after our next cruise... and then I can stop even checking my points b/c Pinnacle isn't happening any time soon at our usual 7 pts/cruise, lol. I guess there's a 2nd block to look forward to.
  18. Some of us are too busy saving room for the cruise, lol, but it seems popular.
  19. Get a good TA. Don't let one bad experience keep you from the perks and excellent service that's out there!
  20. Yes, you cruise a lot, lol, congrats! I was happy to have gotten my first block last year while they still had the old ones. The rest won't match but I'll be able to recognize my first one at least... not that I expect to have much of a collection for quite a while.
  21. Agreed. Love their burgers, garlic parm fries, and onion rings. Many like their wings. Also a big fan of 2 specialty drinks there... The Pitch (modified Long Island) and Goal Post margarita (jalpeno pineapple). Since you have the DBP, no reason not to try em if they look good to you.
