  1. This is Cruise Critic and the topic is tipping, so this is always where it was going to end up. It's everyone, not you. Tipping threads bring out the virtue signalling. You've not been here that long but if you stick around and see other tipping threads they will go the same way. Mark my words. What you do and why you do it is nobody's business but your own.
  2. I think it is more a case that the complainers are more likely to be vocal than the satisfied people. But of course we are spoiled. People who take cruises have it better than more than 95% of the people on the planet. Maybe 99%.
  3. What is commission on Disney Cruise? Agencies booking less than $82,000 will receive a 10% commission rate. Agencies booking between $82,000 and $161,999 will receive an 11% commission rate. Agencies booking between $162,000 and $354,999 will receive a 12% commission rate. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The rest of the schedule goes up to a max of 15%. Which is why high volume TAs can afford to provide perks like OBC. Your TA has been ripping you off, IMO.
  4. OR, maybe their motivation is to go on a nice relaxing week or two at sea and not to see things. It's not a one size fits all world. I've never been to ANY of the Caribbean ports and I would always plan to never leave the ship on a Caribbean cruise. Different strokes for different folks. Not everyone loves the beach. When I've gone to a Cancun all-inclusive resort I never go to the beach (I prefer pools) and I never leave the property. Too bad about your ageism.
  5. Maybe so, I've never been in a Celebrity Edge suite. How close are they in price?
  6. I've been on X and HAL and would say they are roughly comparable. But I would take MSC Yacht Club over either of them.
  7. I had assumed the OP was personally connected to the victim. Perhaps that was an incorrect assumption.
  8. TAs can also get lower base prices by booking enough cabins to get their customers a group rate.
  9. At the opposite end of the cruise experience scale, on our very first cruise, Celebrity in the Carribean, we never got off the boat.
  10. I had something similar happen to me years ago involving a college encounter with Southern Comfort.
  11. Why should your desire to sleep with the curtains open trump someone else's desire to have their balcony light on?
  12. Aw, be nice and let them enjoy their snobbism.
  13. I had always understood that the corkage fee only applies to bottles brought to the dining room. Was I wrong?
  14. I don't understand the idea of going on a vacation and then dumping your kids in glorified nautical daycare. When my family vacationed it was to spend time with each other doing fun and interesting things.
  15. And then charging you a hefty gratuity on the free wheels.
  16. Same here. It was the best part of this beating a dead horse thread.
  17. I think passengers should be allowed to bring their personal robots on board, but only emotional support robots.😉
  18. This was pre-pandemic, but we used a company called ROME CHAUFFEUR and it was fine.
  19. If I am going to use my YC card to get in and there is someone close behind me I think I would say something like, "Oh go ahead, I forgot I had to meet someone", and walk away without opening the door.
  20. On our first cruise, a 7-day Caribbean cruise with Celebrity, we never got off the ship.
