P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?
Ilovemygarden replied to Host Sharon's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
What a lovely post. I was brought up in the countryside and well remember the “berry picking” all summer with the backbreaking “tattie holidays” coming up in October - probably now equivalent to putting children up chimneys! 🤔 -

Good morning from a grey and damp Glasgow. I returned from two weeks on Azura last Saturday to four beautiful sunny days so a start was made on the garden. I suppose now I should do some ironing with the disappearance of the gardening weather! Anyone else surprised we haven’t heard anything of ICF’s adventures on Arvia? -
Azura offers both. Two dining rooms for freedom and one for fixed where the latest sitting is 8.30pm.

Hi Sheep Flavour - whisky prices in cruise terminal shop today. You’ll definitely get a better price elsewhere - usually the duty free at the airport is pretty good.
-
PS - do you want me to check a specific price for you tomorrow?. I am on Azura just now.

35 night Caribbean cruise Jan 2026 on Iona from Southampton.

Quite a few of us from this board on it then - I am too. A bit apprehensive as I haven’t done 35 nights solo although have done long ones before. -
Yes there is a duty free after check in but I don’t think it’s the cheapest - if you want spirits you might be better buying on the plane. You get the 47 per cent stuff then too!

Good to hear you got a quick diagnosis and don’t have to wait for results (nearly always the worst part) and looks like you’ll get treatment quite soon. Looking good for July. -

Very wet here today too. Looks like a few of us are off to keep an eye on P and O this weekend - TigerB on Iona, ICF on Arvia and I board little Azura on Saturday (looking forward to the green beans already!) I am having a Kindle crisis - I cannot get the charging cable inserted any more so hopefully Amazon Prime delivers tomorrow! 🤞 -
No way round it really - it usually works out about 50% which is not too bad compared to other cruise lines.

No guesses as to why you defected to lovely London then. 😰 -

Indeed every day is a school day - I had no idea there was any other kind than the Scottish ones (bannocks) which I have to say I’m not a fan of. Re the Welsh cakes I like the ones sold in M and S. -

Thanks for that - I was thinking of doing that on my next trip. I think I’ve exhausted the town now as I’ve been so often! Have you (or anyone else) taken the tram to La Laguna? I was reading about it somewhere else but can’t remember where they said to catch the tram. -

It took me two tries to get the Stockperks app happy with my application but I applied for obc for a cruise in April this morning and got confirmation it had been applied to my account in 10 minutes! I am impressed (especially with myself) as I am an ancient luddite! 😀 -

Ouch - hope the dentist gets you sorted out with antibiotics and treatment. Not pleasant but effective! -

Unfortunately this time I don’t arrive until the 17th this time. I saw the parades last year though - amazing! -

My sympathy re your cold - I have had the same here at home (unusual for me) and the symptoms did indeed last for a week so hopefully the end is in sight for you. Good luck with the remainder of your trip and keep posting! -

Thanks - I like the sound of that wine bar (I’ve made a note of it). I’m always a bit wary about booking tours in advance in Funchal because of the weather - if it rains, it rains 💦. I had thought about a bus out to Camara de Lobos this time. I know i visited there many years ago so maybe a trip down memory lane - or quite possibly won’t remember a thing about it! 🤔
