  1. If you walked off with your luggage and took the Skytrain to the airport, you would make it.
  2. Russ, I also had paid for the renewal and was waiting to check on the status when I couldn’t access my account. I had a landline set up in my account and couldn’t change it to my cell phone. I emailed login.gov and asked them directly what to do. They advised me to delete my account. You can certainly email them as well to verify this. It worked for me.
  3. If you can’t reach anyone and are close to an airport, I would go to the airport and speak to someone in person. I’ve had to do that a few times to rebook flights etc.
  4. I know that Trudeau and Biden were discussing Nexus at their Mexico summit so hopefully they will be opening more places for interviews to be done. Years ago I did my interview at the Halifax airport but it was much easier then to schedule an appointment and I was living in NS at the time. I would just wait and see what developments come from the meeting before scheduling anything.
  5. Love aft cabins too. We did a Transpacific from Vancouver to Tokyo and we enjoyed the aft cabin location. I was glad I wasn’t in the bow of the ship as it was moving quite a bit for a few days when we had rough weather.
  6. I would definitely check out your Trip Interruption insurance coverage as they should cover it for weather delays. We have the TD Infinite Visa card and they covered two hotels during the ice storm in Toronto in April 2018 or was it 2017. Anyway we were travelling to Honolulu, had to overnight in Halifax, missed our nonstop YYZ-HNL flight, then had to overnight in YVR. TD insurance was excellent as they covered my hotels due to the all the weather delays.
  7. This happened to me when I set up my husbands Nexus. I only had a phone number, not text. They used to call phone numbers in Canada but changed this recently. You can’t add your cell phone number or change it to your profile so you will have to delete your login.gov account and start over. I was hesitate to do this but I had to in order to access my renewal and to activate the account. Once you delete your account, it will take 24 hrs for them to email you and then you can start over. You won’t lose anything in your Nexus account. Once deleted, you can then go into your profile and show your cell phone for texts and also as a back up get back up codes as well. The back up codes can only be used once. I got 10 codes now then I printed off to use if I lose anything. This whole deletion was stressful as I thought I would lose everything but I didn’t so it does work. Deleting your account is the only way to change your profile as I had asked login.gov this question via email. Good luck!!!
  8. Just wondering, once you submit the form on the email, how quickly did they respond to your request. Was it days later or did you have to call them?
  9. I flew from Papeete to Bora Bora on Air Tahiti and I believe it’s a 50min flight. Small aircraft and the views were spectacular from the plane. The airfare is showing approx $369 USD return. The hotels will meet you by boat. This was always on my bucket list. I was on a familiarization trip so I swear we visited every hotel in Bora Bora by boat. It was an awesome trip.
  10. Love the Ilikai. I’ve stayed in two condos there through waikiki beach rentals and it was a very seamless checkin. The units are large studios with a huge balcony. We have stayed on the lagoon side and marina side of the building. My last visit was in Feb 2020. The heated pool is one of the largest pools in Waikiki. Short walk to Ala Moana and various restaurants. I’ve stayed in alot of hotels in Waikiki and will now only stay in these condos.
  11. Have been enjoying following along with you and your Dad on this cruise. Was wondering what type of suite you have? Enjoy the last couple of days. Good news is that I hear your snow is all gone in YVR.
  12. I was looking for the Halifax - Dublin flight in their schedule. Now I know why I couldn’t find it. Pretty sad for Halifax that they’ve cut 4 routes. We always seem to be backtracking to Montreal or Toronto. Ugh.
  13. Thanks so much for sharing your fabulous trip with us. Loved seeing all of the photos and your feedback on the ship. Have a safe trip home. Happy Holidays!!
  14. Ken, you should mention the lack of lectures on your NCL survey when you leave. If there were crowds there in the theatre, there is certainly a demand for it. The cruise director sounds like he doesn’t care. I’ve been enjoying your posts and fabulous pictures.
  15. Love your Stud Puffin shirt Jim. You must have got it on your last cruise visiting Nfld. Congrats on the move up.
  16. Just read a post from Sept 27th that the port in Charlottetown and Sydney were closed due to Fiona until Sept 30th. I think your ship went to Nfld instead.
  17. I’m sure the flights were cancelled into Charlottetown, your first port, due to Hurricane Fiona. The island was a mess. You wouldn’t have been able to get there. I’m sure Halifax flights were cancelled as well. I wonder where the ship docked due to the storm and what revisions were made to their itinerary. There may be posts on CC about this. You could mention all of this in your claim as well.
  18. Love your photos of Dubai!! Enjoy your next leg of the trip as I will be following along.
  19. I find right after Thanksgiving and first two weeks in Dec are best for prices and lower crowds. Too many kids for me on Thanksgiving week.
  20. I always love following along with you and Iain. Have a wonderful time and enjoy the heat while you can. I’ve been on the Solstice three times and loved the ship.
  21. I know for travel to the US you don’t need validity within 6 months. I’m looking at UK and Ireland to see what their rules are. Not sure if I’ll be travelling this winter so may wait until May. Thanks for the info.
  22. Please post your response of your query regarding this. They are quick responding as I’ve had to ask them questions.
  23. Just received my husbands renewal card in the mail a couple of days ago. It was approved on Nov 8 so it was 14 days. No interviews required for myself or my husband on these renewals. Now I have to think about my passport renewal which expires in Aug 23. Not sure when I should start that process.
  24. I sailed on the Edge in Feb 2020 with a few girlfriends. We chose it over the Equinox at the time. We had the IV and personally I wasn’t crazy about it. Even the Deluxe Porthole Verandah looks very tight on the balcony and if it’s in the bow, I will pass. I did enjoy the 4 different MDR and also the theatre was amazing. If you are travelling with another couple the IV balconies do not connect to each other like the S class ships. I still prefer the M and S class ships with a true balcony.
