  1. One more report from this evening in Copenhagen. We were sound asleep when this fireworks display awakened us. This is the view from our hotel room. I think the display was coming from Tivoli Gardens. IMG_5292.MOV IMG_5291.MOV
  2. This will be our first trip to Norway and we are very excited about it. This itinerary (which has changed some since we booked the cruise) is the one I've been thinking of for the last three years. The weather was perfect today with the temperature at about 70 degrees F. We left Tivoli at about 8:45pm and it was still perfect weather for walking.
  3. We board Ovation tomorrow and are excited at the prospect, as this will be our first cruise since Covid reared its ugly head in 2020. After arriving in Copenhagen yesterday afternoon, we were ready for a day of seeing the sights today. We retraced some of our steps from a few years ago, but saw some new things as well--the grounds of Rosenborg Palace, Copenhagen by canal boat, and finally, Tivoli Gardens this evening. Tivoli Gardens is the world's second oldest amusement park. It was established in 1843 and is a feast for the eyes. It has buildings which originated in the 1800s and a collection of amusement rides which display true artistry. There are restaurants galore and beautiful gardens which definitely set the tone for this attraction which remains very popular with Danish families. The Tivoli Gardens certainly exceeded our expectations. It was a busy place tonight with music and revelry. Here are a few of the photos from this evening.
  4. We are very happy that we begin our cruise tomorrow. I'm going to start a thread a bit later this evening.
  5. We got the same notification, but only one. And our boarding time is 2pm. We have sailed a number of times on Seabourn before.
  6. Yes, we were on that cruise, and, as I recall we even stayed in the same hotel in Amsterdam--The Ambassade. I think that is how it is spelled.
  7. So sorry to hear that you and your mother both have Covid. We had it for the first time last September following a driving trip to Santa Fe, NM. I hope you have a speedy recovery. And yes, we board Ovation tomorrow in Copenhagen. We arrived in Copenhagen yesterday and have been enjoying the city. In about an hour and a half, we plan to walk over to Tivoli Gardens to admire some of the history of that place. I wish it was not Saturday---as I know it will be crowded. We didn't go last time we were in Copenhagen and because we are within easy walking distance this time, we are going to go this time. I think an overnight in Valletta will be fun and the Seabourn excursion to Mdina is a good choice.
  8. Would you tell us how the Regent cruise was superior--very interested in the topic.
  9. We made it to Copenhagen this afternoon. Looking forward to Sunday and boarding Ovation.
  10. I know they have Coca Cola. I'm not sure about Pepsi. When you board you can ask your room attendant and they will bring you whatever is available. I'm sure there are some juices available.
  11. This reminds me of our last cruise---we chatted with a woman at the Obs Bar one evening. I saw her the next day on our excursion--called her by name etc. She looked at me and said that we had never met. I reminded her about the night before and that we had chatted at the bar. She said, "Oh, if it was after dinner, I would never remember."
  12. It will be interesting to see if we find the same. We are considering not requesting any liquor this time. We seldom drink more than a tiny bit of one bottle--and then worry that the rest is just wasted. Surely they do not use bottles that have been opened in the bars...
  13. I agree. If I intend for something to be humorous, I try to work in a way to say that. For example, I used the term fashion police in another thread. I was just kidding--and said so. Otherwise, it would look like I was being serious.
  14. I hope all goes well for you--and for the rest of us! We leave home early afternoon. We'll all hope for easy connections! We are so looking forward to this!
  15. As of now, tracking is telling us that our bags are already in Copenhagen with a delivery date of June 11th. Hopefully, the wheels will still be attached.
  16. Why would you think that someone would bludgeon you in the bar? Honestly, people here just want to help, but your dislike of Seabourn is so strong that nothing anyone says to try to help is going to make a difference. For the record, we've never had a bad cruise with Seabourn. It COULD happen. I'm surprised that you booked such a long cruise with Seabourn the first time you cruised. Not every cruise line is right for everyone.
  17. So they leave the bag OUTSIDE your suite rather than inside? Is that the usual?
  18. KJbacon, With all due respect, you seem to be someone who is never satisfied or someone who expects perfection. While I am not a Seabourn booster who will not report things that are amiss, I do realize that some things take time--sometimes based on the infrastructure and facilities of certain port cities/towns. You tend to come across as very combative and uhappy with Seabourn once again--and this time from the getgo. Fair enough, but you might want to soften your commentary if you want people to take you seriously. Personally, it would not bother me one bit if the availability of shore excursions was delayed. Obviously, Seabourn is not your cruise line and this will be your last cruise with Seabourn. My advice, for what its worth, would be to go with an open mind and just enjoy your vacation. That is what we always try to do. No cruise is like another. Something always goes wrong no matter what. Just have fun. Yes, the cruises are expensive. Obviously, we all know that. And, we all have our own reasons for booking the cruise lines that we book. Just so we all know ahead of time--which B2B cruises are you on next March/April? I think I remember you saying it will be on Ovation? Is that correct?
  19. It does give me some comfort. We'll hope for a good experience. By the way, we should expect the bag shipped with Luggage Forward to appear in our suite. Is that correct?
  20. He just doesn't wear them and hasn't for years. Probably because we live half of the time at our rural farm and shorts are not a good idea there.
  21. I'm glad you approve! He might be wearing them at breakfast and/or lunch some days. Don't worry, they will not be darkening the door of the Restaurant in the evening or heaven forbid the TK Grill. And they will not be worn everyday. Mr. SLSD will not be wearing shorts or tshirts either. I think the fashion police can look elsewhere. I'm just making light of Markham's aversion to saggy and baggy--and I totally agree with him and thank him for being the impetus for Mr. SLSD getting a new pair of jeans.
  22. We sent one bag by Luggage Forward for our upcoming cruise. Last I checked, it was already in Copenhagen. Let's hope it stays there until we arrive! Why did we send it? We are perfectly capable of taking our luggage with us--but we have an iffy connection which includes changing airlines. So--we decided to pack ultralight--with carryons with what we could live with--and one bag between us going only one way with more clothing. I'll be sure to report what happens. Mr. SLSD got a new pair of jeans because he was very concerned that his might be considered saggy and baggy (or maybe it was really me who was concerned). At any rate, the new jeans are dark blue, no fading, and quite trim on his slim 71 year old body. AND, he will only be wearing them off the ship while on excursions or exploring.
