  1. We love the motor yachts. Sailed them all when they were part of Seabourn. I always say they are the best deal on the seas. A suite for an oceanview price. That said, we are going back to the Wind Surf for 55 nights and looking forward to it. There is something about sailing in the Caribbean.
  2. Something like 10 years ago we cruised on Princess. My husband won big in the casino. Back home he was offered a free cruise. We took it. He did not gamble much. No more offers of a free cruise but on every Princess cruise (still today) he gets $100 OBC from the casino.
  3. Consider flying to Long Beach instead of LAX. Our phones work in Canada. Are you sure yours will not work in the USA?
  4. You remember correctly. I have no idea when nor why they got rid of those pages. I remember always finding the recommended drink at each destination. They were information about destinations, not cruise ports. I actually printed them out and took them with me.
  5. Not your first or second choices. We like the land trip that goes to Dawson City. We have done it twice and are considering it again.
  6. 33 night cruise. Sydney to Seattle. We are on the same cruise. We are already in a mini-suite. Like the couch and tub. Do not care about the TV or curtains. We have bid on a Reserve Class mini-suite. Have heard nothing from Princess. So, I would like to say don't take it and maybe they will offer it to us. But. with a 5 year old, I would take the mini-suite.
  7. We do not like buffets. The BBQ is a buffet. So, we just fill a plate with lobster tails and that is all we eat. Never wasted one. Have even had waiters bring us another plate full when the first was empty. Hopefully they come back before we sail again.
  8. Where are the lobster tails? That was always the only thing we ate at the deck BBQ. Hope they have not stopped serving them.
  9. On our last two cruises (October and January) the embarkation dining room lunch was in the same dining room as Reserve class. Reserve entered from one door and others used the other door.
  10. I have never seen a heated pool on any cruise ship on any line. Heated hot tubs,
  11. Reservations for Planks and Steamers but you cannot make them until you board.
  12. Also, you do not give them the medallion or even show it to them. They might ask for your cabin number. Their "machine" can read your medallion. It will show your picture so they will verify they are charging it to the correct person.
  13. I have only looked at the menu at Salty Dog, never actually eaten there. But, I think the two plates is one of a soup, salad, or appetizer. The second plate would be your entree.
  14. They were both open in October an alternating nights. No idea as to times. Evening, not lunch.
  15. In our limited experience, the juice bar closed at 2 pm,
  16. We were on Discovery last month and the juice bar was in the middle of the buffet. It was a room with coffee and pastries. Very inconvenient for us as we do not eat in the buffet. On the Caribbean Princess it was at one of the pool bars which was more convenient.
  17. So instead of walking from dining room to dining room, you will go to the correct one first. I can find no rhyme or reason as to which one is open on which ship. They have all varied on our cruises.
  18. Yes. The crew will push you to the buffet. Just ask which MDR is open. If you share a table, the line usually moves fast.
  19. Have to disagree. We have used our table on both the Star and Surf. It does fit. Maybe you are thinking a card table. Our table is something like 12 x 12 inches. It is a little table. Works great as a side table. Perfect between two loungers on a beach.
  20. We sailed on the Caribbean Princess in October and had no complaints. Something like the 40th ship we have been on. We have sailed on much worse ships. Our worst - Celebrity Constellation and Azamara Quest. Would never sail on them again.
  21. We have travelled all over the world with a wine bottle opener in our bathroom bag with no problem ever.
  22. Actually no idea what you are referring to, but, we bought a foldable table 30 years ago in St. Martin. It fits in our suitcase. We always travel with it. Use it in the cabin. Take it to the beach.
  23. We have always reserved specialty dining in advance. We use the Web Version, not the App. To my knowledge, casual dining can not be reserved in advance. Planks and Steamers take reservations once on the ship. I do not know about other casual dining.
