  1. Thank you! You assured me I have no need for the app. I will stick with weird. I am on my laptop during the Super Bowl. I do stop to watch the commercials. My husband has personally been to 20 Super Bowls. Now it is cheaper to cruise. Opposites do attract. He took heads on the toss and won.
  2. So, I know I am weird. My husband carries my key card in a folder from some cruise line. Each card is in its own sleeve so both can be scanned without removing them. And, I am weird. My driver's license is also in his wallet. I seldom have a purse with me. We did buy the watches for our Princess medallions and use them. But, half the time mine ends up in his pocket. So, can I do anything with this app if I do not have a cell phone?
  3. Has anybody had the lobster roll at the pool grill? Is it any good? Pictures?
  4. I haven't figured out a purpose for the medallion other than opening my door and getting off and on the ship - the same as a key card. Whenever I order a drink, they ask for my cabin number. I make dining reservations on my laptop. I do not have a cell phone. I travel with my husband and I always know where he is if he is not next to me. I like to hold the daily schedule in my hands and highlight what I am interested in. Menus are on the TV. What does the medallion do that I am missing? Does it do anything if you do not have a cell phone?
  5. But he will fine dressed that way on formal and casual nights.
  6. Big rectangular room. Escalators on both ends. Green lane is on the far right by that escalator. Blue lane is in the middle so if you check in at the larger numbers, escalator on the right would be closer. If you check in at the smaller numbers, you are closer to the escalator on the left. You can use either escalator. You could even go to the ship and then switch lines. Entrances are not that far apart. You have no opinion as to which person checks you in. It is just the next available. Handicap is on the far left near an elevator. Maybe suites check in there, too. I did not notice. Only noticed the handicap because of all the wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters.
  7. It seems to appear where you check in. Green lane is closest to forward ramp. Far right of blue lane is also. The rest of blue lane is closer to aft ramp.
  8. Read the Dine My Way tab at the top of the thread.
  9. Here is a hint, if you keep the inside cabin. Turn your TV on the Bridge Camera. That will then be your window. You will know when the sun comes up.
  10. On the Caribbean Princess last October, they encouraged reservations for Planks and Steamers.
  11. I do not have a current list to offer but this one is old. Discovery now has The Catch By Rudy. No Bistro Sur de Mar (or whatever it was called). Caribbean Princess has Planks and Steamers when NOT in Alaska. Maybe somebody else has a current list.
  12. They have 3 separate main dining rooms. Maybe they are not small?
  13. I did say it was not a (really} traditional Cobb salad. It did have egg which they seem to miss on other salads. Maybe they should call it something else. I could still eat it almost every day. And I always skip the chicken or salmon. I like a good salad and this could be my favorite. The other memorable one was the chicken salad at the Elite/Platinum lounge.
  14. Just curious - What is the attraction to the Champagne tower? Years ago we got there early for a front row seat. Then everybody stood in front of us and we could see nothing. Now we skip it.
  15. I believe the Cobb salad, which is not really a Cobb salad, is available every day. And I could eat it every day. Most days at home I skip lunch. So this is not a deal breaker for me.
  16. Menu is different every night. We never had shrimp. Sushi, Greek Salad, Mexican, spring rolls. My favorite was the chicken salad.
  17. All ships we have been on have entertainment, but it is for a limited time. Maybe something like 5:30 to 6:00 pm.
  18. Who do you talk to to set this up? Cabin Steward; Head Waiter; Guest Services?
  19. On the Discovery we booked a table for 2 at 6:20 in the same dining room each night prior to the cruise. We did not verbally request the same table each night. We never sat at a repeat table and only had a repeat waiter one time. We had breakfast in the MDR every morning within 15 minutes of it opening. Again, always at a table for two. Never a repeat table or waiter. And never at a table in the sections we sat in at night. We had no complaints about any of the tables nor any of the waitstaff. Most breakfasts we would get a window table. We never did at night. We expect the same thing to happen on the Majestic.
  20. MDR lunch menus do change. The last two items on the right side of the menu do change. We only ate there once but we had two different menus. One was the menu from the day before.
  21. Won't it just let you book on line? No need to talk to anybody.
  22. Can I sit at the same table as my husband while he eats sushi and I just have a drink without being charged the $14.99?
  23. We had the parade in the dining room on Discovery the week of January 13.
