  1. Well, my only thought is, it is a good thing that We have other cruise lines to which we can flee for the buffet spreads that are grand and pricing is lower or comparable to what is forked over to X for the current product rolled out... The other lines are happy to take us on aboard and thank X for their changes to make a few old timers to look elsewhere for better. bon appetit and bon voyage
  2. lw - I Am doing my best to convince my spouse... I understand the value proposition presented by Oceania, but, but, but, but My spouse prefers X's ship size and many of the activities offered... I do prefer the smaller ship offerings and presentation... Maybe I can try it at least once... and most likely by myself, at that... LOL Cannot wait to read about your take on Oceania... Cheers and bon voyage
  3. In fact, I would in fact... getting food which is not served in The OVC or MDR except upon request, that is if one knows to request it... and I have often times made those requests... bon appetit and bon voyage
  4. .... and I detest the viking commercials I see and hear... I have told my spouse to not expect us to sail on that line anytime soon, unless something changes, especially their payment due date or I come into some unexpected riches to give it to them for such a long lead time IMO... LOL bon voyage
  5. rd - I may resemble that comment OR at least observe it in others... LOL bon voyage
  6. It has always been an option for staff to eat in The OVC as there is a dining venue for them already... bon appetit and bon voyage
  7. aw - agree, yet "in reality" taking that away is far worse than the scale back of The OVC... LOL Most would not care who they had to spend it with, it is theirs to spend... Upgrade to PBP, possibly??? bon voyage
  8. ???? Is this because your spouse contracted C-19 or that the information received about passenger capacity was the straw??? bon voyage Is
  9. I believe you are correct for individuals who would not purchase a beverage package. There are some of us who bring wine on board AND still maintain a beverage package. I would venture to say many of us have the PBP by the time we board... just biting at the bit to hit either The Martini or Sunset Bars to get it going... LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  10. Of all the cutbacks, I do not think this is a casualty of booking on-board, surely!!! Then again, the postings here if that happened!!!! LOL bon voyage
  11. Pending on the reason you cancel and your travel insurance coverage, may take some of the sting if you need to do so before sailing... bon voyage
  12. As it seems that the following 'additional beverages' are of no interest to you, then purchasing sodas as wanted may be the better option? Cheers and bon voyage Acqua Panna water Evian water San Pellegrino Premium coffees Red Bull and Editions Zero Proof Cocktails, Frozen & Non Sodas Premium teas Aqua Spa Fresh Juices Bottled Iced Teas Vitamin Water
  13. I think that is sad, as well... While I found it challenged us to think 'outside' the proverbial box in terms of entertainment and presentation, I did enjoy it for the most part. For us, it is akin to someone who does not like or enjoy disco as a reason to shut down or do away with that venue... I hope it will be back for a 2024 Beyond sailing.... bon voyage
  14. It now goes by "Zero Proof" package... If you have purchased the old package already, you should be grandfathered with it... Cheers and bon voyage
  15. @YensidCA one approach to using your own stones would be first night find a bar where you most likely be throwing back and let the bartender know that the following day you will be bringing your own stones... That way they know and will not be perplexed by what is going on... Pending on the ship, there is at least one bar that specializes in scotch and bourbon and those bartenders will understand and accommodate fully... Cheers and bon voyage
  16. ... are you willing to continue the task??? 😂😂😂 bon voyage
  17. Sounds like a WW meal offering..... LOL bon appetit and bon voyage
  18. For all X passengers who board ships outside of the US and are not US citizens (okay US citizens can respond) ---- What is your anecdotal recollections or real life experiences with bringing soft drinks, water, seltzer, juice and the like aboard ship??? I have yet to read any post from those far flung places about this and was curious as there are currently a number of US postings concerning quantities and types of beverages which can be brought aboard in US ports. Cheers and bon voyage
  19. Methinks that quite a few posting here have never dined in Lutece nor Le Bernardin and a few other establishments that are equivalent as most of us are just coming into our own in terms of climbing up the proverbial economic ladder of which one of the first stops is 'cruising' for pleasure... While enjoying fine dining is someplace where a well 'heeled' cousin/relative would take us for a special a special occasion every couple of years or so... maybe where we would take ourselves out of desire or curiosity to see how the other side lives... LOL Nothing wrong with this, to be sure... and to be clear, just my observation. bon appetit and bon voyage
  20. Thank you for this, were you (and others, who also, either wrote and/or called about this situation) offer up what areas that X could consider cutting back in to offset the potential cutbacks in OVC??? Just curious as I have not read where any poster has offered up those suggestions, yet, unless I missed it... bon voyage
  21. No, not even on a Bermuda sailing... I have witness a few men try and could not get past the M 'd... even with tie and jacket, as I thought about doing it as well... bon appetit and bon voyage
  22. Thank you, sometimes we do not 'read' the full text and only take away the points which support our goals and desires... Guilty as written... LOL bon voyage
  23. All of my retreat keys have been lifted from the rightful owners.... LOL bon voyage
  24. Maybe a plank too short, yet, could you not allocate some of your savings towards the Zero Proof package??? Yes, beverage packages are getting more and more expensive and there are reports of OVC cut backs on many ships. Based on what I perceive your 'wants' are, maybe RC, CCL or NCL will be a great fit at this time until X can become profitable again and adjust pricing for your expectations??? OR your expectations accept the new pricing and reality in this current market of pleasure cruising or not. While I have no suggestions as to the latte workaround, there will be plenty of no charge water (included in the fare) aboard for sure. If you have any OBC, that may cover a few of the lattes you may have. Cheers and bon voyage
