  1. We just booked the Kangerlussuaq to Pond Inlet cruise on the Endeavour for July 2024. That expedition cruise includes a hotel in New York on the way to Greenland and a hotel in Montreal at the end of the cruise. We're making our own flight arrangements, so will need to transfer to/from those hotels on our own. What hotels has Silversea used for the pre- and post- expedition cruise stays? I know there was a cruise with these start and end ports just recently, and was hoping info on the hotels. Thanks in advance!
  2. There are fitness classes, they're included, and they're first come, first served, not booked. I'm willing to bet they're not very full. On embarkation day, the spa and fitness center has a meet & greet. You can meet the fitness director and get the class schedule for the whole cruise. That schedule is available throughout the cruise just by visiting the fitness center. Most (every?) day has a Wellness Event, too -- these have always struck me as a way to sell product, but what do I know? The Wellness Event is in the daily schedule included in the Passages. The fitness classes for each day aren't in the main schedule but ARE in the daily Passages, tucked away next to whatever treatment the spa is advertising that day. On my recent 10-day Voyager cruise, there were Yoga Vinyasa, Mat Pilates, Stretching, Circuit Training, Indoor Cycle and Meditation sessions offered at least two times each. Every day except embarkation and debarkation had either a Sunrise or Sunset Stretch, sometimes both.
  3. If you have dietary concerns, Dining Services will put the Compass Rose menus on your door the night before so that you can identify the dishes you want and let them know. This is so the chefs can modify your choices if possible or warn you away if not possible. If you are booked for a specialty restaurant, that menu will also appear. I would think that if you want those menus the night before, you could get on the distribution list, even without dietary concerns. Ask at the Dining Services desk when you board. Otherwise, the menus are available on the TV — breakfast and lunch menus in the morning, dinner menus by lunchtime.
  4. And even then shorts aren't acceptable in the dining rooms, as I discovered to my chagrin in June.
  5. Log onto your rssc.com account. At the bottom of the booking info for your cruise there is a to-do list. In that list is the day you can make your dining reservations, one per restaurant per cruise, at 8pm Eastern time. It's possible to get extra reservations (or change what you have) while on board by talking to dining services. Since you are on a 7-day cruise, I recommend you try for those reservations as soon as the window opens. If you can't get a private table at the day/time you want, try for a shared table. Those are often more available.
  6. Swimsuit, maybe even two. A rash guard, if you are snorkeling, because the sun is fierce. Walking shoes -- if they're black they can double as your evening shoes. Your own mask and snorkel.
  7. I have found that the service in the specialty restaurants can be leisurely. I try to book no later than 7:30 so that I can get to the theater early enough to get for my favorite seats.
  8. We had a very expensive disappointing Tours by Locals tour in Quito, and an amazing best-in-show included Regent tour to the Rio Secreto from Cozumel. Your Mileage May Vary!
  9. I like to go to the Tea lounge (wherever it might be) at 4:00, get a plate with a couple of scones, some clotted cream, and jam, and take it with me to the Observation lounge to stake a location for the Trivia team 😁.
  10. The cruise director on Voyager is likely to be David Nevin, with Alex as his assistant and Anabel as social hostess. They were all there in June. All three of them are moving to Grandeur for her maiden season. That's either happening in October or November.
  11. There’s a hand washing sink in on both sides of La Veranda, at least on Voyager and Splendor. I generally sanitize my hands before I go to the buffet (to protect -you) and wash them after filling my plate but before I start eating (to protect me). I think my fellow passengers are great, but I don’t trust their hygiene 😁.
  12. This happens to shore excursions, too. I sometimes want to check what I reserved while I’m on board (usually if a time on my tickets confuses me), but can’t see the list on my account anymore.
  13. My passport (expedited, express mail, large format) came in 5 weeks. I was very pleasantly surprised.
  14. @Techno123 I stand corrected. I think my opinion was colored by the fact that it was dumping rain the day we were there and trying to walk around, and my jacket was inadequate. @Snore42, I will take your advice and try an excursion to Eze if we are ever docked in Monte Carlo again.
  15. Years ago Regent offered an included "Florence on your own" which buses you into Florence and sets you free to wander. We booked timed entries to the Uffizi and the Academy (David) through https://firenzemusei.it/, picked up the tickets for both at the Uffizi, and had a lovely day before we met the Regent bus back to the pier. There are also tours into Tuscany from Livorno, like Siena, which fellow passengers liked. Monte Carlo doesn't actually have much going on besides shopping (unless you want to pay to see more of the famous casino than just peeking in), but you can take the train to Nice and see the Chagall museum and the Matisse museum. From Sorrento, you can go to Capri. I was just on a Regent cruise that stopped in Sorrento, and I wish I had taken their Capri tour. Once you have your exact itinerary arrival/departure times, and you find out if Regent is running their usual included tours, you can make better decisions. You will have plenty of time to book non-ship tours between now and April, even if you don't get your info until January. We got a lot of information from the Rick Steves Mediterranean Cruise Ports guide book.
  16. Any time. And I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that it only needs to be done once for all interactions with Regent as long as you are using the same TA. At least, we've never had an issue with this since the first time our TA cleared us, years ago.
  17. I generally give the driver $5 (or 5 Euros) directly. There have been times I've tipped the driver and not the guide.
  18. I'm pretty sure the laundry has a warming closet of some sort to aid in quicker air drying. My air-dry items have always come back at the same time as the other items.
  19. Check the location of the offered suite. Is it right under the pool deck? If you have motion sensitivity, is it low down and central enough to be comfortable? Those are the things I'd look at before "upgrading."
  20. Usually Regent offers a city tour or some such for people with later flights. Has anyone taken one of these tours in Vancouver BC? What was it like? Was there anything more interesting than Stanley Park and Gas Town (both of which we've visited many times)? Thanks for any info and opinions.
  21. We were there that day, too. The merchants were very glad we were shopping :-). FYI, Harvest Caye is a NCL property.
