  1. Thanks so much for the detailed info. Sounds like a pain. Fortunately we lucked into a great price for a higher level suite (our first and likely our last) so at least that should get us some priorities disembarking. Was starting to get a bit nervous about our 11:30 flight time.
  2. And maybe location and capacity specific as well. On Apex for a b2b. Last cruise awesome speed. This cruise, in a different direction and with 200 more passengers started out awesome and has gone steadily downhill since then. Not awful, but on premium quite a bit of buffering at times watching things.
  3. A lot depends on the type. Large bus tours can usually wait. Small group or expensive tours like helicopter in Alaska I would book early.
  4. On Apex now and Martini Bar and all surrounding areas completely full by 5:00 or so. Could rarely find a seat for 2 anywhere in that area pre-dinner. Very frustrating. Thankfully we are able to use the Retreat Lounge. Not a big fan of Eden although those seats also full except for some on the top floor.
  5. We have been told when asking this question onboard that the future cruise desk cannot help you with any current reservations. As Celebrity can be inconsistent at times perhaps others have been successful but don't count on it as an option.
  6. Unfortunately I'm returning 4/1. What's the deal with that terminal? Have a fairly early flight and curious what complications there may be. We had planned to take a Celebrity shuttle to the airport like we did in December due to the insane Uber surge pricing.
  7. Same here. It's been awhile for me but I found the people unfriendly overall. They also are the only Carribean island I've visited that wouldn't accept USD. I'm not that ugly American that expects the world to cater to me. It's just odd as every other island did with no issues.
  8. What Celebrity ship stops at either of these? I've sailed Celebrity 72 times, primarily in the Caribbean, and never stopped there.
  9. Oops. Sorry. I had heard that they pulled out of San Juan. Obviously I was mistaken.
  10. The local tenders here are actually quite large, but maybe not enough of them with so many ships in today.
  11. Yes if other cabins in that exact category are open you should be able to change. And in my opinion cabins way up front feel the most motion if there is motion to be felt, based on my 80+ cruises experience
  12. Currently on Apex. Local time in Cozumel and ships time in Belize. Most often the ships change to local time but occasionally will keep ships time particularly if the local time is only different for one day.
  13. We make a checklist for both butlers or room stewards depending on class of room. We do so not to be demanding but rather to make life easier for them. We discuss it politely and with a smile and good intent when they come to introduce themselves. Our requests are not extravagant, things like an extra pillow, more hangers, daily ice in the bucket etc. I don't see why this would be considered rude, handled and presented politely. To me handing them cash upfront to in effect 'bribe' them I think is unnecessary and bordering on rude.
  14. IMHO the issue is a move to shorter cruises to attract a younger crowd with only so much vacation time. Many of the islands we regularly visited years ago are rarely on itineraries now. That combined with removing San Juan as an embarkation port are the main reasons I believe. Unfortunate.
  15. The tenders are local, no larger than for any other ships. This time they are tendering from the port side due to sea conditions. I suspect that is part of why it is taking so long.
  16. Celebrity will provide free transportation but agree, you will have some wait time before they let you in the new terminal, even if in a suite
  17. Agree with the comments above. Let them know and prepare to do your own celebration but be happy if you get more. On one cruise in a Sky Suite we got balloons and a heart shaped towel animal on our bed. In the dining room we got a cake. On our latest cruise we told our butler and got nothing. There is so much inconsistency. Congratulations on your anniversaries and enjoy your cruise!
  18. If I had to pick I would say Equinox, largely based on great experiences there and getting to know several staff members. Least favorite definitely E class although they have a great Retreat lounge and deck.
  19. The only realistic answer anyone can give you is probably.
  20. I confess I don't understand why you would? Any spending onboard can just be charged to your credit card.
  21. 100% agree. Much prefer S or M class especially if not in a suite. Apex is beautiful but not nearly as comfortable in so many ways. Also, as an older cruiser I prefer the older demographic I see on S or M class versus E class. On Apex now. Paid a fortune for a Sky Suite only to have a couple toddlers in the cabin next to us whose parents treat their balcony as a playground. Not unique to E class but truthfully less likely on S and M, especially longer cruises.
  22. It is very rare that it won't fit under the bed. This is my 71st Celebrity cruise of lengths as long as 21 days plus pre-cruise so I generally have quite a bit of luggage. Never had an issue with underbed storage. So yes, it would be a mess but that is extremely unlikely to occur.
  23. That might change my thoughts as well, but in fairness I think handing it to a porter, properly tagged, at the port is a safer situation than using a transfer. Granted it shouldn't happen regardless.
