  1. Agree with the comments above. Let them know and prepare to do your own celebration but be happy if you get more. On one cruise in a Sky Suite we got balloons and a heart shaped towel animal on our bed. In the dining room we got a cake. On our latest cruise we told our butler and got nothing. There is so much inconsistency. Congratulations on your anniversaries and enjoy your cruise!
  2. If I had to pick I would say Equinox, largely based on great experiences there and getting to know several staff members. Least favorite definitely E class although they have a great Retreat lounge and deck.
  3. The only realistic answer anyone can give you is probably.
  4. I confess I don't understand why you would? Any spending onboard can just be charged to your credit card.
  5. 100% agree. Much prefer S or M class especially if not in a suite. Apex is beautiful but not nearly as comfortable in so many ways. Also, as an older cruiser I prefer the older demographic I see on S or M class versus E class. On Apex now. Paid a fortune for a Sky Suite only to have a couple toddlers in the cabin next to us whose parents treat their balcony as a playground. Not unique to E class but truthfully less likely on S and M, especially longer cruises.
  6. It is very rare that it won't fit under the bed. This is my 71st Celebrity cruise of lengths as long as 21 days plus pre-cruise so I generally have quite a bit of luggage. Never had an issue with underbed storage. So yes, it would be a mess but that is extremely unlikely to occur.
  7. That might change my thoughts as well, but in fairness I think handing it to a porter, properly tagged, at the port is a safer situation than using a transfer. Granted it shouldn't happen regardless.
  8. On what ship? Have cruised on Summit, Equinox, Solstice, Eclipse, Constellation, and Apex in the past year. Could always drop off in the cabin.
  9. This option has been on the menu for years and it's delicious!
  10. No you will not. Your room steward can take extra and store it for you until you need it for the trip home
  11. Brittany this cruise. Not sure how long her contract is.
  12. And honestly how often does this happen at the port with properly tagged luggage? The answer is very, very rarely. We always cross pack our suitcases, but if everyone felt the need to drag hordes of luggage onboard checkin and security would take hours. Not to mention that Celebrity cruisers tend to be of older age (as am I for the record) and frankly can't handle schlepping that much luggage around, especially when packing for longer cruises. Have seen this happen tons of times on disembarkation day when they attempt to do walkoff. It's a mess.
  13. And in another part of the website, as well as the cruise documentation itself, it says a reasonable amount of luggage. Never had an issue and we take long cruises so bring quite a bit of luggage.
  14. I'm all for saving the whales. I just wonder how dangerous cruise ships are. Given their size, are whales (very intelligent creatures) really not aware of passing cruise ships? I can see faster, smaller ships hitting them. I wasn't able to open the link on my phone. Maybe it addresses this.
  15. Because for most people fully vaxxed and boosted it is like a bad cold. They don't quarantine for colds.
  16. But I guess I wonder if the ecosystem is really the reason. As you know the ship tenders quite a ways out and do the small tender boats really damage the ecosystem? Maybe they do. If so I get it. But I also think too many of these ports are submitting to the "not in my backyard" selfish restrictions. At the same time, the cruise industry 's continuously building mega ships I think is ruining the ports for everyone.
  17. IMHO most people fully vaxxed and boosted get milder cases and never bother to test or report illness. I was very cautious about following the rules, got all my boosters, etc., but I feel the time to report and quarantine should be ended. It is not going away in our lifetime. We have to learn to live with it. I know it's a quandary then for people immunocompromised but then many illnesses put them at risk. As a senior, even in good health so far, I also have to weigh the risk. I take reasonable precautions, always mask up on airplanes where I have caught many a cold in the past, and do the best I can onboard to avoid people who seem ill (and yes, I realize all coughs aren't Covid19).
  18. Just so you know star code is any medical emergency. It does not necessarily mean Covid and in fact is likely not Covid unless they were using it differently for some reason on your cruise.
  19. I'm not sure I agree. Monterey is one of the most desirable ports on that route. To have that permanently deleted would be a huge loss. Maybe as a Californian it doesn't matter to you as much as you can easily drive there. I can tell you to me it matters a lot. Santa Barbara is very nice as is Catalina Island but Monterey and their fabulous aquarium tops them all. I'm not saying it would necessarily make me never book a coastal again but it might be the tipping point depending what the alternative ports were. We already don't have a lot of ports on our March sailing and if they just added another sea day I will be one very unhappy camper.
  20. This is very concerning. One of my favorite ports. In fact earlier today was talking about how much I was looking forward to our visit in March. Love their world class aquarium!
  21. Glad you made it. These days I recommend to everyone at least 2 days prior, especially in winter. Used to say 1 day but flights are so full these days that could be iffy as well.
  22. The food itself is not my #1 reason for cruising, but having it prepared and served to me is way, way up there! I hate cooking.
  23. Exactly. And islands forbade cruise ships docking so that effectively shut down Caribbean cruises from the US. Same for Canada and Alaska cruises.
