  1. Agree - Land's End has been my go-to for years.
  2. And a link for the little pink jewelry box, by any chance?
  3. Thanks for the additional detail and pics. I do love the way these look. Off to research SAS factory locations.
  4. These SAS huaraches are super cute. I have high arches, so need something that is supportive in that area for long periods of walking. How do you find the arch support in this style. Also, is your pair in the picture the antique tan color? Thanks!
  5. So sorry to hear this! The lamb chops are one of my husband's favorite things when we're on a Viking cruise, and he orders them at breakfast and has them at other times, too. They've never been anything other than delicious.
  6. Okay, this is NOT how I make my grits, but it's definitely how I'm GOING to make them next time. I can see why they would be even better when you take the time to do these steps. Thanks for posting!
  7. And cheese! Gotta have cheese if you're having them with shrimp instead of breakfast. 😊
  8. Loved following along! We were in some of these same places about 10 years ago and all of your wonderful photos brought back so many great memories. I'm so glad you took the time to post!
  9. It's not just a personal preference issue, it's a safety issue. Please report it quickly and let Guest Services deal with it.
  10. It truly jeopardizes the cruise. If at all possible, listen to all the good advice you're getting here to fly on the 24th at the very latest.
  11. Really nice! Thanks for sharing with us. You can see how nice and soft the leather is even in pictures.
  12. Picture of the new purse, please! (Loving all of the rest of them. You take wonderful pics.)
  13. I love it! It's just perfect. Congratulations on your 50th anniversary and your very good health news. So much to celebrate. Have a wonderful cruise!
  14. I hope you'll come back and let us know what you've decided to do, after researching other flight options.
  15. Is it possible to cancel the air, even with a 50% penalty, and start over on your own? If that's something you're willing to consider doing, then many here can give you advice on how to start your own search for other flights that you book on your own. That said, you might not want to cancel the NCL air until you've done some initial searching, to see what pricing you're able to get this close to your departure date.
  16. I'd underline Clay's "large" point, above...the umbrellas are really big. Which is great in some cases, but can be a little much in others. We compromise by bringing two smaller collapsible umbrellas, which are much easier for me to handle if the large ones aren't needed.
  17. Just got an email with this code: Roundtrip Airfare & FREE Silver Spirits Beverage Package Code: PAT22 Looks like it applies to two different Chilean Fjord itineraries for March departures, and to a Canadian and Atlantic Coastline departure on April 13. Wish we could take advantage of this but they're all too soon. Hope someone can! ASK FOR OFFER: PAT22
  18. Agree 100% with the other posters. Comfort tops everything, so that you can truly enjoy your excursions and your time on the ship. I'd bring the grey Brooks running shoes, since you know they're comfortable after many hours. If your clothes are mostly black and white, grey will look just fine. You could throw in the white Keds, as well; if they have a platform of any type, or extra cushioning, they could be fine for shorter excursions or around the ship with the dress, for example. And then the black sandals for evening now and then. If you look around the ship and the ports, I'm guessing you'll see a lot of women who have some version of a running shoe on. No one will think: "Look at that dorky woman!" They'll think: "Look at that smart woman who has on the right footwear!"
  19. Exactly this. This is what I do at home for our merino wool, except for laying sweaters flat on a mesh rack to dry instead of hanging them. It's more of a PITA in a cruise cabin to fully rinse them in the sink, but it's the only fool proof method, I think.
  20. I couldn't agree more with this. In flying to London from the DC area, once I discovered the day time flights - which on AA departed from either Chicago or Boston - I would typically fly into one or the other - (yes, going backwards to Chicago) - the day before in order to get the non-stop day flight across. For me, at least, it was a game changer in terms of my ability to adjust right away, and be productive (or enjoy vacation time) the entire trip. The pushback I always got from colleagues at the time was that I was "wasting an entire day". In my case, that wasn't true, because I would have wasted the first day there in any case from the overnight flight - I was present in the room, but definitely not present mentally.
  21. Suggest you check out the Cruise Insurance forum, where you'll find a lot of helpful threads and tips on how to find cruise insurance that works for your specific situation.
  22. I have these, as well, and really like them. They really are quick dry, and comfortable. Hard to find size 5.5 in any shoe, and particularly in water shoes, so that was also a plus with these.
  23. The absolute best cookie/biscuit on any continent anywhere!
