  1. I think it is at an appropriate level. Test early, test often is IMHO a viable option to permitting those who cannot vax onboard.
  2. It is .... multiple times for those with an exemption according to the FAQs
  3. I'm not an intentional day trader but with the past 2 yrs volatility I did manage to drastically clear my losses (bought @ 56) fortunately in the IRA so no taxes owed and wound up shorting some. Cost now $869 - 250 OBC (3 short cruises) - 250 OBC (Sept Transatlantic) = 369 which will be more than recouped with 2 cruises next year not for the faint of heart or inexperienced Wow!! Never experienced that with a CVP & I understand TAs can do it too. Regrettable that yours did not have your back
  4. I think it's just plain weird to tip Onboard Revenue areas. I don't tip salespeople here, why would I there?? I worked hard here to as an ombudsman (similar to Guest Services) but it would be weird to tip me too. I wish they would be honest & recognize it for what it is -- supplements salary. ADDED: I tip certain ppl extra $$s & chocolates (or chips if not flying in)
  5. So by linking billing accounts nonrefundable OBC is used first by either person still.
  6. Were your accounts linked to 1 charge card?? I have cruised with others, linked our billing account, paid for kids excursions / specialty dinner / wifi with my OBC, and never had an issue doing so as recently as 2019. I have only sailed solo in 2021 & 2022 to date so just trying to find out if this a new change
  7. some are obviously a buy & hold investor. But many are traders and its been a great stock to trade & short the last 2 yrs
  8. Deleting email address from signature tomorrow.
  9. Sticking to what I'm doing: $$s + individually wrapped chocolates
  10. I've already suggested that they cut the 15 per day drinks to 10. Tired of drunken fools onboard. The way I see it: 2 lattes, unlimited drip coffee or tea, 3 sodas or waters, still leaves 5 booze. Maybe that adjustment is next?? Then a few will pay $$$ Especially since Carnival Cruises just announced it's increase. That was $1 per day across the board.
  11. I would've tried yours but no idea who it is
  12. Also not exactly current ..... last off 4/30/22. I became so frustrated with DMW on Majestic 8/15/21. Then it was worse on Emerald 12/9/21 as they continually tried to seat me in Deck 6 Aft. Canceled all future reservations on that cruise but they still tried. Didn't try DMW on 4/23/22 cruise and not using it on future cruises. Back to firmly ATD but dine in Deck 6 midship sometime around 7 (unless at the production then it's 8:30). The longest wait I had for a 2 top was 5 minutes on the Emerald Princess. But I did see lines at 5 for dinner and 1/2 hour for lunch at noon on the Ruby Princess. So if you eat later, you will be fine IMHO.
  13. Same here but I've only cruised 3 times post covid (so far) 👍I can't find those individual bags of macademia nuts so I'm back to dove chocolates or Ghirardelli squares. Not my favorite (milk chocolate caramels) as I'm not doing carry on (bottle wine as ..... like I said 'I'm cheap') and those won't pack well.
  14. Temporarily put my email in my signature
  15. Oakland is on this side of the bridge so my departure city always defaults to that. Unfortunately only SFO has easy Bart access (have to change trains twice if going to Oakland). Yeah, I'm probably going to have to drive .... hate leaving my car somewhere besides my garage but what could I do? SFO was twice the fare and this is a drop & go decision
  16. I'm thinking of bringing these instead of chips when flying to a cruise. Still bringing dove (or Ghirardelli) chocolates. Need about 4 per day of those ....
  17. I did not see it. Still don't. It's $300 rt Oakland to Seattle. (Yes ill have to drive there). Everything I saw was a few hundred more for a flexible flight. Probably made no sense to insist on that as I'm back onboard in 47 days
  18. @sircleanI don't cancel auto gratuities, I just add to them for individuals who do something specifically for me
  19. I'm cheap. $20 waiter / $20 asst waiter / $20 Head Waiter I'm assigned to (he's the one who takes my special meal order) & inform corporate how helpful he was / $20 steward /$2 each room service. But I've noticed that the room service & steward like those dove chocolates & individual chip bags. I laughed when someone mentioned that here on CC but they disappeared!! Told steward to take 1or 2 each day (his choice, he liked BBQ chips) and asked each room service person to help self if s/he wanted. Odd thing ..... after the 3rd time I got the same guy every day and he would go straight for the dove chocolates. Yes packing dove chocolates for next trip too
  20. I completed the captain circle update form firing P.O. over the weekend and then sent an email to one recommended by a friend I made at a M&G. She called at 8:15 am!! Explained that she responded in whatever fashion I contacted her stating she's 'old school.' I think its fixed, anyway she's my CVP now. Booked cruise, transfers (as a solo uber & princess transfers are the same $$s), got me a much MUCH better ezair fare (nonstop) than I could see. Best yet she called!!
  21. Didn't have to!! New one called, booked a 6/26/22 cruise + air, all paid & set. Buying FCDs the minute I get onboard and taking a screenshot this time.
  22. Yes. Mine retired in January. The new one is so useless I'm thinking about going to a TA if I can't shake her but then my experience with TAs weren't any better than the new CVP
