  1. No. I'm not down overall this year. HOWEVER I am down 1" from when I came back after my cruise (still only measuring my waist) and have just 1 more to go. I am down a little over 2" from when I first joined. So progress!! How's everyone else either since January or when you logged in?? ===================== Succumbed to the sales yesterday and bought a sofa. Now I just have to figure out if I want to make / buy new / or buy a thrift store & restore a sofa table. Almost done. This all started when I had so much FCC that I didn't need to cover my cruises (not cruising nearly as much as Belle or Susan)
  2. Belle I am on the Discovery Princess June 26th, are you?? Jan, I loved Belle Harbour but felt sorry for the residents. Cruisers sort of overtook the small town Susan, wow just wow (2021-Sept-btb Edge Oct-Equinox Nov-Equinox Nov-Dec btbtb Summit(100)Dec-Niew Amsterdam 2022-Jan-Niew Statendam, Feb-Constellation, Emerald Princess,Mar-Apr-btb Reflection Apr-Apex May-Caribbean Princess, May-Equinox Sept-Sensation, Nov-Enchanted Princess)
  3. @karatemom2umm ummm I'm not walking along a major road. Taking the bus
  4. Belle, I learned from my dad. He was a DIY type but didn't do everything correctly. When I disconnected an antique phone (circa 1900s) from the house after he died i discovered he hardwired it into the house. Put down the electrical system and phone lines. This was 2004 when everyone still had landlines. What a mess. Also why I don't fuss with electricity Meghan, sounds like you'll learn 'portion control' real fast. I always struggle with that Izena, that's quite an accomplishment Belle, did I read correctly? You're embarking on a B2b2b2b2b2b this summer?? 1 ship or 2 w/o an overnight stay between??
  5. Yes. 56% of that age group have or will have children. Leaving only 44% childfree https://www.businessinsider.com/why-millennials-birth-fertility-rate-declining-fewer-babies-2022-1 @mtnesterz he's 1/2 cockapoo 1/2 mutt / 21 lbs of talkative but not on Bart. Wears a thundershirt there and goes right to sleep
  6. CC selling an entire line?? https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/27561-report-carnival-corp-eyeing-seabourn-brand-sale-to-saudi-arabia.html (Prior link didn't work)
  7. I could just like but this is spot on (according to my Carnival Cruises!!) Ok. Honestly I will cruise on them again too. Just using up FCC 1st
  8. @cre8tiv1 I'm not concerned about younger workers mobility as many white collar younger workers are not tied to a desk. True my son is supposed to go in the last few days each month and last week quarterly. Works in SF East Bay, remotely from Phoenix this week. Hey its not really end of month right? He's not the only one working remotely. Grandson's BF is working in Monaco right now (nope supposedly in SF 🤫). And I know people working onboard now in the Sanctuary (well not exactly now but in a month).
  9. Production shows are up on my Majestic cruise next month and they're new-to-me: Day 2: Spotlight Bar Day 6: Rock Opera The only show I personally found boring was Stardust, but then all the songs were new to me so ~~~~
  10. I see a difference between Carnival & Princess. Interested in a Cunard (QM2) cruise with my avatar
  11. To those who miss 'the old days,' Carnival Corp is a business with shareholders who are hoping it comes out of the pandemic better & stronger than ever. It has multiple lines to suit many income / age / language / interest factors. If one no longer suits you, there's always another 2 or 3. CCL appears to be in direct competition with RCCL. PCL is middle of the road as is HAL. It just doesn't shut off the lights each night as early as HAL. New cruisers spend more per day, less interested in sneaking items (booze) onboard, generally more fit, and a younger demographic which is great for the future. Want an older more sedate crowd? There's always HAL & Cunard, Viking, and Uncruise.
  12. IMHO: Carnival = Honda Civic Princess = Honda Accord Cunard = Lexus
  13. Can we get small bites, lattes, & premium tea at the Princess Live Cafe as well as International Cafe on new builds? Addition of sushi bar is another great touch I think they're trying to expand beer selection in Salty Dog Gastropub ..... heading back there in a month
  14. Princess is targeting a younger age range which (IMHO) it needs to do to be profitable. MedallionClass app, MDR attire, and menu selections aren't an issue for their targeted age range. But if they really REALLY want to update their food then I'd appreciate more healthy vegetarian options. Although I always have a choice between 2 it'd be nice to have an option between 3 Also: More like Rock Opera and less like Stardust Newer cruisers leave more $$s behind than higher category Captain Circle members Just saying "it's just business"
  15. 3 of my 4 saved cruises are currently not available but there doesn't appear to be an issue with the Melbourne ->Sydney one .... glad I'm not the only one with and issue
  16. That would be me. FWIW I asked for cold water wash last time and I "think" I got it. Will mark cold water from now on
  17. Really surprised me that it only took about a month.
  18. Thanks Belle. Working on the house impacted my weight as it was all fast food for a while. But getting back on track Welcome Acruisingperson! I think nutrisystem is a great idea!! I did a similar program (weight watchers) which is where I discovered i had no idea what a portion is. Still don't some days
  19. I had an issue on my last cruise (4/23-4/30/22) that could not be immediately resolved by Passenger Services Desk. But I was called once it was handled the next day. I had an issue that was handled through the medallion and the same guy at PSD called me again!! 2 minor issues / PSD took responsibility to make sure that they were resolved Got $20 refunded after my 12/9/21 cruise (partially refunded disembarkation tour as they skipped 1 stop)
  20. OMG I hope he is still there on my next trip!!
  21. I'm elite so my opinion is skewed towards that sometimes: 1. not a floating amusement park 2. large variety of music from classical -> jazz -> country -> rock -> piano bar 3. free laundry (over & over again. Never take dirty clothes home or onward) 4. multiple free dining options (not talking about buffet, never been to 1 on Princess bc it was just obscenely tempting on Carnival) especially Alfredos (free 4 courses) which is just Sabatinis lite ($29 for 5 courses), tea, and International Cafe 5. taking on my wine
  22. @Cruise Raidertoo bad it's so hot this week or I'd suggest opening all the windows to air it out. Hoping to make a cruise with you someday
  23. Apologies. Did not mean to shut the thread down, will stay on topic in the future. Promise
  24. Sort of. Transatlantic and European cruises require a shot within 270 days of embarkation so if the shot was April 2021 and you need another shot
