  2. I've used a partial GC online once before. Instead of entering the full amount of the GC just write in the amount you want to apply. Or...just tell your TA to use "X" amount. Have done that as well, also.

  4. I don't know...it just seems like doing Pub Lunch in the buffet severely hampers the atmosphere of what it's supposed to feel like. Just my 2 cents worth.

  7. I have no idea if what we've received in the past for room service breakfast was supposed to be "fresh squeezed" or not...(I highly doubt it). On multiple cruises this has been CRAZY sweet juice...such that I just could not drink it all. I drink OJ every morning...this stuff is like they dumped a barrel of sugar into the vat while mixing!
  8. I've always felt that would be the case. The whole QR code thing is simply not needed. This was an idea from the developers that they felt would "enhance" the feature set of their "amazing app" they were trying to sell to Princess. (Strictly my personal opinion here!)
  9. IMO...Princess pulled back on the amount/type of bandwidth that was contracted for during the pandemic. Not much point in continuing their campaign of "Best WiFi at sea" when there were no ships sailing! Since the restart...again IMO, I think they balked at ramping back up the service to what they had intended to do in the 2020 time frame given their crushing cash flow scenario. Looking at this *strictly* from their business viewpoint...I (grudgingly) have to say that it made sense. It would *appear* that they are being forced (peer cruise line pressure) to go with Starlink. I certainly hope that this will at least provide *some* usable bandwidth on trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific cruises. Time will tell.
  10. I have looked into what AMEX covers in a situation like this...they don't provide a lot of coverage, certainly not enough to cover *most* total cruise fares. IMO...(and best for us) is a combination of the Princess insurance coupled with GeoBlue Trekker (annual, extra medical for out side the US). I keep going back to look at MedJet...I'll probably pull the trigger on that at some point.
  11. Just to clarify for the OP...the Medallion and the app are two different things altogether. You do NOT have to use the app at all. The physical medallion simply takes the place of your cruise card to open your cabin door (main function) as well as scan you off and back onto the ship. It can also be scanned in order to order drinks but more often than not the waiter/waitress will just ask for your cabin number. Don't let the smartphone bit keep you from enjoying a Princess cruise!

  13. We've had VERY few requests to see medallions when ordering drinks...on at least 7 or 8 cruises, both pre and post-pandemic. I think they've figured out that it just slows things down trying to go the "scan" route!
  14. Can't speak directly to the library on Majestic...but *most* libraries (that still exist) have multiple Monopoly, Clue and other board games. Pretty sure I've seen plain decks of cards as well as Uno. Books run the gamut of what previous passengers have left behind...not too many new titles but a fair cross-section. Just not a huge selection.

  19. Given that I always keep mine in my pocket, and DW keeps hers in pocketbook getting a custom medallion would just be wasted money (for us).

  21. At the beginning of 2020 (just before the pandemic broke out) we did the first segment of the world cruise on the Pacific Princess. It was a full transit Panama Canal cruise, FLL to LA. When we first booked we did not realize that it began a world cruise. Not that it would have made any difference to us! Sadly, Princess sold off the Pacific Princess to Azamara during the shutdown.

  23. You absolute *can* make dining reservations on the "web version"...this is the *only* way that I do it.
