  1. Well, I was going to suggest just entering a different CC for him...but I see you've already tried that. I can't really think of anything to try. By any chance is the CC nearing expiration? (Wild guess....) Hope you get it figured out...but in reality it really will not be an issue once you get to check in.
  2. While I am included in the ranks of the "revolutionary colonists", I wish that they still offered tux rental onboard. I guess they *might* be offered on some of the other exclusive lines; by the time we started cruising fairly heavily (primarily Princess) this practice had been eliminated. Sad...I would gladly pony up for a tux at least once on a cruise!
  3. We may very well be in different tax brackets...but I for one would very much welcome $250 in OBC.
  4. This was a bit harsh, in my opinion. @JimmyVWine has a very respectable reputation here on CC. He simply re-stated the fact that you *appear* to have received duplicate benefits and some very personalized attention from multiple officers and management. I myself was about to comment something to that effect before I saw that he had already done so. I'm certainly not trying to minimize the issues that you faced...you should not have had to deal with those types of issues.
  5. SD restaurants are never "booked solid" pre-cruise. They always hold seats/times back for various reasons.
  6. Hence the reason I cited the point in time....I never said that this was the case for *now*.
  7. LOL! You've been a LOT more patient than I ever would be in this thread... 😄
  8. Call us paranoid...we carry ours any time we get off the ship...regardless of the port. That way we "get into the habit" of doing so in foreign ports. I know it may seem ridiculous...but that's one thing we just will not have to worry about should that crazy situation crop up.
  9. We had the same experience on the Discovery last August. No tokens needed and they even supplied the soap for free! I didn't argue with them!
  10. We simply do not sail (or travel) *anywhere* on any itinerary without passports... Just bite the bullet and get a passport if you plan on doing any traveling in the future. You never know what opportunity might present itself and you don't want to be caught short for the avoidable reason of "no passport".
  11. Unless something has changed within the past month or so, I have not seen this happen. I have *always* been able to find (i.e. select) a cabin I want by picking the "button on the right". As @caribill states above...you *might* run into a situation where a particular location/type just is not available, though I don't ever recall being shown GTY cabins once I've started down that path. Maybe I've just been lucky! Only once was I forced into taking a GTY cabin on the one and only time we were able to sail on the Pacific Princess. (We booked very late.) Just a few days before sailing we were notified that we had been assigned a cabin. We found out once we boarded that they had given us an "accessible" cabin. (We did not need one... and we kinda felt guilty in taking it but apparently they had been holding it "just in case" and nobody else needed it.)
  12. As stated above...location is the main difference. Other than that, they are all the same in my opinion.
  13. I guess I am missing something that has just taken place (or similar!) I have never booked a GTY cabin...I just won't do it. I have ALWAYS been able to find a section/deck that allowed picking my own cabin. Yes, GTY cabins can be had for less, but I want to be "in control" and make my own mistakes!
  14. You absolutely CAN do dining reservations on the web. Go to your cruise personalizer and scroll down just a bit to where you see this: Click on "Try our web version". This is the ONLY way that I book dining...so much easier to see what you're doing!
  15. Cannot give you an ABSOLUTE definitive answer...but I *believe* most countries adhere to a reciprocal arrangement such that anything accepted by the passenger's government should be acceptable.
  16. The Princess deck plans on the Princess website are basically useless for seeing what you are looking for. Take a look at the link below. Pick which deck (or decks) and then scroll down a bit to see the legend codes. Interconnecting cabins have a small black diamond...there are many other codes to show special cabin features. I have no idea why Princess does not do this... https://www.cruisemapper.com/deckplans/Enchanted-Princess-2156
  17. I've seen several past threads where various people wondered about this... Of course, *if* he had other duties his "cabin load" might be less.
  18. We had only Pre-Chek for a couple of years (DUMB!). When I picked up a Delta AMEX card (that reimburses for either) we went the Global Entry route. I guess one reason that we did Pre-Chek first was that it was a hassle (at the time) to get an appointment to do the Global Entry interview. I just didn't want to deal with it. However...after several international trips where I saw people just *breeze* through that Global Entry line I resolved to "get it done". I got lucky. While there are no GE interview sites in our immediate area, there are 4 cities within about 100 miles that offer appointments. I just kept watching over the "main" cities that I would have assumed would be a better chance...then one day on a whim I tried branching out with my search. Lo and behold, Huntsville, AL had 2 appointments for the very next day! I snapped them up and we just made a short road trip and it was a done deal. Interview lasted all of 5 minutes (if that)! I never even knew that Huntsville would "rate" a customs office!
  19. There is no *significant* difference in boarding times at *most* ports. It would be something a bit on the unusual side (such as a mandatory Coast Guard inspection in the US) that would delay boarding an hour or so. The schedules are designed in pretty much the same way everywhere in order to make "turn day" as efficient as possible. There is a finite amount of time to "get everything done".
  20. Cruise Tours have always been handled a bit differently...
  21. You *should* have received an email "receipt" showing the amount of money paid. It will not specify that it was for Crown Grill but it's as close to one as you'll get.
  22. As I posted in another thread: I don't think it was *ever* considered to be an "extra charge"...just a way to offer a small break for those who don't care about the specific cabin they cruise in...and the fact that it "helps" Princess in regards to the ability to move cabins around should the need arise.
