  1. Hmmm....I still don't buy it. Let's say that there were already 15-20 people on the list *before* this person submitted his group. Are we saying that those first on the list will be bypassed for the sake of a group that came later? Has anybody actually *used* this group method successfully?
  2. I find it rather strange that so many of us "regulars" have not heard of this. Ok...maybe it *is* new...but why hasn't it been touted through the usual channels?
  3. I'm at a total loss as to your procedure. (I'm not doubting it...) When it's so hard to just get a reservation for 2 why is it easier to get a whole group invited?
  4. LOL...I've not even heard of a wine card! I constantly learn things here on CC!
  5. That's what I experienced in August 2022 (Alaska itinerary) on Discovery. Machines/dryers were free to use AND there was free soap and dryer sheets. I've not seen that on any other ship.
  6. I don't know....that does not sound right.
  7. Readily available in the gift shop on Caribbean Princess this past Feb.
  8. Yep...this business of being "sold out" is just a bunch of hogwash.
  9. Interesting...now, when can we expect a similar announcement for John Padgett?
  10. Yep...I believe there are 2 or 3 other threads about this... Looking forward to seeing it on the Sky this May. (I *think* it will be out of dry dock when we board...)
  11. That's one of the BIG drawbacks of the Princess accounting system. It does NOT reflect the fact that you may have already used some of that OBC on the Payments screen! Best route to take is take screenshots as you book ALL excursions & such and notate directly on them exactly how they were paid for. It's a pain...but virtually impossible to backtrack if you don't have this and need some kind of proof onboard of payment for some item.
  12. And...here's a *somewhat* little-known secret: Once onboard connect to the ship wifi system (just the wifi...internet not needed for this) and open your browser to: shipname.princess.com Example: majestic.princess.com You will be rewarded with a much more easy to view/read version (in my opinion) of JourneyView as well as a number of other features. This *used* to be the only way to see things via your phone. I very much believe that the current app is simply accessing this "older" database and (previously) elected to present it in a view that was absolutely ridiculous. I have yet to be sailing in order to see the "new" presentation...soon!
  13. It's just human nature to want to "participate" in all things related to an upcoming cruise...and many folks just don't have the "historical background" with the app to fully understand the (sometimes) futility of getting the app to work. I try to help with an answer when I can but then add the fact that they really don't need the app at all...they're going to be able to cruise just fine as long as they bring the required documentation (very often a passport and *maybe* a covid test for some of those holdout locations that are still requiring them.) Someone once said "Have patience grasshopper."
  14. JourneyView has ALWAYS been something of a complaint item for most people. As I understand it, there has been a BIG improvement in the *appearance* of JourneyView...but the actual population of activities sure seems to be the same as its been for several years now.
  15. I'm quite certain that you will be able to cancel your excursion once on board. We experienced the same thing in Newport, RI a couple of years ago...we didn't even find out about it until we were on the excursion (basically a walking tour). We thought it very entertaining to watch...
  16. I personally think it would be VERY cumbersome to have to keep up with a "real" birth certificate. I'm just thankful that we both have passports as well as Global Entry! Anything I can do to make travel as seamless as possible just seems to be the right way *for us*. Everybody has their own opinion!
  17. Here is what we experienced on the Majestic, Alaska itinerary 2021. A lady had to be sent to a Canadian hospital...I don't know any further details. It does happen!
  18. I have always complained about how you have to jump through hoops to see "everything" in regards to your cruise costs. Currently (still) there is no way to do it. That why you really have to keep every email and cruise confirmation that you receive from Princess so that you will have some chance at a paper trail. Until you actually get on board, you cannot see a complete listing of what you've paid for...and sometimes not even then! KEEP EVERYTHING and bring copies with you on your cruise!
  19. I may very well be wrong...but I *thought* that you had to be on the ship to see the menus. IDK...
  20. We did that very cruise last year! That has become one of our favorite cruises to date. I think you'll like it!
  21. You've got to remember...in "Princess-speak" sold-out does not necessarily mean sold-out in real world terminology! They ALWAYS hold back some cabins for various reasons...probably because they feel that they can make a bit more money from the existing reservation holders by offering the "upgrade carrot".
  22. Somehow I just don't think I can get into a "Pub Experience" atmosphere while at the buffet...
