As of earlier this week, your right you can not get the same benefits if you need a handicap room. Take their bid for upgrades. No way to get an upgrade to a better room at a lower price. IF you wait until prices come down you can not get a handicap room period. As they can and will give those rooms to people who do not need them. This is partly why I will no longer travel with princess

  2. At the entrance to the terminal building staff will direct you to the wheelchair assisted boarding area.

What ship are you cruising on? As if you know which company is providing port services for that ship you may be able to prearrange wheelchair assistance.

For example if you are sailing on Anthem of the Sea you need to contact Intercruises to prearrange wheelchair assistance.

Is this a parksite you would recommend?

    Google Reviews are not super

We always use AB Parking and never had a problem until our last cruise in May 2022.

Just after we had unloaded the cases, from our car, there was very heavy down pour of rain. The porters were great they quickly got most of our cases in their van before they got wet. Unfortunately the rain managed to ruin the luggage tag on my case. The case made it on to the ship but not to my cabin. I had to collect it up at Guest Services.

We would have loved to pick new cruises .The problem there was there was none except in September & we will be getting back from a one month road trip   .Thus the timing was just  too tight to jump into the RCL cruise that  was like the October cruise that RCL chartered .  November & December are holiday months  & we never will book any cruise with   the kiddies being out from school  . Ganuary we are booked on a 18 night Gawaii cruise & end of March we are booked on a 14 night Solar Eclipse  which takes us into April . We need  October of 2024 cruise that Navigator of the Seas would be doing  from LA since we no longer fly  .This would work for us but ,you can not even book that far in advance  right now  .A FCC  of $200 would   have been applied to 2024   of equal lengths ,7 day plus the 4 day  . We would book that cruise as soon as it was available as we need a  handicap cabin which sells quickly

What I'm struggling to understand is you obviously put a great deal of planning into your cruises, because you need a handicapped cabin and would prefer cruises without too many kids. As part of your planning surely you would have mentioned to person you booked the cruise with that you needed a refundable deposit along with needing a handicapped cabin.

This is the worst vacation I have ever had.  I know you guys are biased  and will most likely give me a lot of flack for this post but I need to get it off my chest before I explode

When we first got here the stateroom was gross. It was dirty and dusty, it was in really bad shape. Maybe the state room attendant was having a bad day or something so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and I didn’t really mind.

The freestyle Coke machines always broken like I mean always there have been several times where none of them have been working. Why did I pay $250 for a cup if none of them work?

I'm not sure why you think you will get flack as we have all experienced similar situations.

We always sail in accessible cabins. Somewhere in the cabin there will be damage, normally marks on the wall, where previous guests have hit something with their scooter/wheelchair.

In 1 cabin there was dust and more alarmingly we found 2 tablets/pills in a corner. We took pictures of the corner, flushed the pills and reported it to GS. GS apologised and said they would flag it up to housekeeping. A housekeeping supervisor came within an hour of us reporting the pills. He apologised and explained that the cabin had been empty for the past 2 weeks, hence the dust but he could not explain why the pills had not been spotted but he would flag up to all cabin steward and other supervisors to double check corners.

On the same cruise, midway through the cruise only 1 Freestyle machine was working. At the end of the cruise all the machines were working but all of them had half of the drinks out of stock.

i tried it and nope it did not work.

The mentioned thread was from last year and could be why.

I'm also after the current code if there is one.

    Jules

AF2018 worked for me on Wednesday 18th January 2023.

It did not work when I copied and pasted the code but it did work when I typed the code in, using capital letters. I got 10% off.

What happens if you book a regular balcony on NCL for 3 people and one of the 3 is handicapped and in a wheelchair. Then you show up to check in and then request a accessible room. Will they switch your room?

There may not be any accessible rooms that are vacant. Cruise lines will sell empty accessible rooms to anybody about 8 weeks before departure date.

Best post on this thread and true!  We usually book an upper suite one a year and balcony other times. We always buy drink packages, internet, casino,  etc. on the ship. I wish they would only allow suite guests in the suite area, lounges, coastal kitchen, and seat reservations for shows, no matter the C&R ranking to lower crowds. I would be ok not being allowed when I’m not in a suite even with my status.

Cruise lines need to take care of people that spend more money vs. someone who is just Diamond Plus because they always sail in an interior room with no onboard purchases….

This concept discriminates against passengers that require wheelchair accessible cabins. As most of Royals ships do not have wheelchair accessible suites.  On most ships the highest disabled cabin is a junior suite, which does not have access to the suites lounge and limited access to  coastal kitchen.

I would need to rent a scooter on Harmony of the Seas. How does that work? Must it be kept in my cabin and will it fit through the cabin door. There are no handicap cabins left. Thank you.

Have you looked at the Disabled Cruise Travel section of Cruise Critics for more advice about hiring scooters.
