  1. Just did a Norwegian Fjord cruise on Jewel of the Seas last month. Here is my order of the ports we did, from must see to just awesome: 1) Geiranger 2) Flam 3) Olden 4) Honningsvag 5) Alesund We were suppose to do Molde but it got cancelled because we had to return early to Amsterdam because of the availability of the locks. Pick the itinerary that does the top listed ports. You won’t be disappointed. We had an aft balcony and I would recommend it highly! Best way to sail in and out of fjords. mac_tlc
  2. Happy Anniversary Andrew and Lisa!! We will be sailing on Oasis in two weeks and will be celebrating our 40th! Yikes. mac_tlc
  3. While I also think that their mind may be made up, I could read those changes to the website to be referring to the 8 week test on Equinox and Eclipse. The “itineraries where e-cigarette smoking is allowed” is indeed the 8 week test on the two ships. mac_tlc
  4. I miss the various salts they used to have a few years back before they changed the menu. mac_tlc
  5. The last cruise before drydock is October 12, 2024 and is 11 days, ending on October 23, 2024 in Southampton. The next cruise is the transatlantic departing from Lisbon, Portugal on November 9, 2024 mac_tlc
  6. Eden is on both, LeVoyage only on Beyond (and Ascent eventually). mac_tlc
  7. For those who are happy with one-a-day service, thats great. To me the issue is, when it was twice a day, all of those who only wanted one a day could still get it ! Now that it’s once a day, those of us who appreciated twice a day service are SOL. mac_tlc
  8. Our only tender port was Geiranger. A Costa ship got the floating dock so we had to tender. If we were the only ship, we would have had the dock. We got in line for tender tickets about 15 minutes before they started distributing them, we got group 7. Was still about an hour + to get to our number. Coming back to the ship the tender line was enormous as everyone seemed to want every last minute at the port. We left about an hour late. mac_tlc
  9. We have had cabin 10123 on all the E class ships and have it on Ascent in January. It is a great location to all the Retreat amenities. mac_tlc
  10. Couldn’t agree more about E-class entertainment, hardly a “B at best”
  11. I’d have to agree here. Just did Jewel last month. Visited Geiranger, Honninsvag overnight, Flam, Alesund, Olden . Absolutely magical. If you didn’t catch it: Would love to get another shot at some of those ports in 2025. Seems like Geiranger and Flam are most affected since they are in UNESCO designated fjords. And they should be— unbelievably beautiful. mac_tlc
  12. Just got off the phone with the Executive Office, returning their call to me from last week I had two issues -- the first didn't have a long discussion -- I expressed my feelings against the "no price protection" feature of the Beyond Redeployment, especially since those on a Reflection sailing were price protected onto Beyond (whose 6/8 day itinerary prices are higher than Reflection was ). Also that the TA affected folks have only a couple options, all more expensive on a pppd basis. No good reason (or any reason for that matter) was given, just that they aren't budging on that one. Second, the vaping test... I expressed my extreme disappointment on the test itself, and the fact that casino revenue may be the determining factor, when other factors can also be a factor on these specific 16 sailings. From the "slippery slope" and future changes, to the fact that the air will go where it wants to and not stay in any designated "vaping" area (just see how well the magical line on Royal works between the smoking and non-smoking sides!), to the unenviable position it will put the crew in to enforce such a ridiculous policy, and on and on. I did mention that it will force us to expand our searches when planning future cruises. I think she listened, but she is not the one that is going to make the decision. Everyone on this thread, and every one of their friend and family cruisers who are against this need to send an email. It takes two minutes. It's really our only avenue. Let's hope on 8/20 we get some good news. mac_tlc
  13. I emailed the executive offices on 7/4, on this issue and the Beyond deployment. Received a call today but missed it. They left a call back number and I will call them Monday. mac_tlc
  14. I was beginning to think you forgot us ! I’ll wander over to the MSC board and give you some support! I’m interested in your YC experience. Hope to cruise with you again….. mac_tlc
  15. I'm waiting for one of those PH's to become available! I waited too long ----- because I booked the 11/1/24 Beyond and then they cancelled it --- now no PH's available. Another example of how Celebrity's tone deaf policy regarding the Beyond deployment has impacted its "loyal" customers. @Silkroad, will we be meeting on the Vista someday??? mac_tlc mac_tlc
  16. I sent in my email yesterday, along with strong disagreement with how they handled the Beyond redeployment. No email or call yet. mac_tlc
  17. I would love to know how they can conclusively state #4, and how they can even say they about one or two days into the “test”. Royal can’t seem to stop non gamblers from smoking, as they congregate around an ashtray near a slot machine, I doubt that their sister will be diligent in their efforts. mac_tlc
  18. First a big thank you to @Georgia_Peaches for being our spokesperson. The cynic in me, however, agrees with @RichYak— If we just don’t put up the signs, everything is ok. Are they going to allow it or not? If so, it is only a matter of time before word of mouth spreads. So maybe it slows down the number of vapers, but the policy stands—— and that is the real problem. mac_tlc
  19. Well at least Ålesund has shore power. When I took these pictures, I knew I would be responding to @twangster or the chief!!😜😜. mac_tlc
  20. I believe we have a winner!! Michael Bayley has said almost as much every time he is asked the question about Royal’s casino smoking policy. They refuse to give up revenue and will tolerate the upset customers. mac_tlc
  21. Looking forward to following along. We just left Amsterdam last week after our Jewel of the Seas Arctic Circle cruise. Love the city. Have stayed at the Doubletree before, great location. mac_tlc
  22. Beautiful tuxedos! We lost our 12 year old tuxedo last September— heartbreaking to this day. She was a beauty!
  23. As someone who was maneuvering a wheelchair down the hallway to the aft cabin ( it was Norway so it had to be aft😜), I can tell you trays and cups and glasses are not my friend. If there was one tray in the hallway we had to stop, my wife had to get out of the chair, I would fold it up, go 8 feet, unfold it, and she would get back in. We did request ice twice a day and got it — almost every day. As for the garbage can. If we happened to stop for a coffee and bring it back to the room, those two cups would almost fill the garbage can. Better not have a coke can or a bottle of water too. As I stated in my review, the comparisons to home are ridiculous. I paid to be not at home. I clean the toilets at home, so should I be OK if they asked me to do that to enhance my cruise experience? mac_tlc
