Well, he did want to check it out. Not sure if it was the snow or the birds sheltering in the bushes near the patio. He kinda paced back and forth, hugging the house (right side of photo) where the snow had not yet accumulated until he could find a narrow strip of snow that he could leap over to get to the bushes where the birds were (center & right side of photo). No snow under those busheds either so he just paced back and forth for awhile while the birds just fluttered away, After a bit, l he retraced his steps back to the slider on the right. He touched the snow once with his paw. Not a fan. LOL. Came back inside & curled up at my feet. BTW, you can see how heavy the snow is. The branches are weighted down and the Rose-a-Sharon tree was split from the weight of the snow.

Plan on at least twice a day check-ins. There is an ebb & flow to this thread. A flurry of postings early in the morning, a lull during the day as people are enjoying themselves and relaxing (sea days may be the exception to this rule) and then posting through out the evening. My plan is to check in around lunch time to read the mornings post & again after dinner to get the evening posts. Being a night owl, I'll do an optional third check-in late at night to catch some of the alcohol-related (buzzed) postings. 😄

My part of NY will get either 2-4" or 8-11", depending on where the infamous "rain/snow line" sets up. Living about an hour inland & higher elevations, that line is almost always to the south of me (more snow) but once in while it's north of me (more rain). And since I live in that portion that's variable forecasters are always divided. On weather maps where they show the regions that are getting 2-4", 4-8" and 8"+ and so on? It seems like the line dividing those regions runs right thru my house. 😄

Are $2 bills appreciated for tips?
HBE4 replied to ShillyShally's topic in Royal Caribbean International
With inflation, it's time to bring back the $2 bill! Dollar stores are now $1.50 stores & even the 99 cent pizza joint has a hand written sign taped to the register stating price is "temporarily $1.25 a slice". Temporary? yeah, right! https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/17/business/2-dollar-bill-history/index.html I like the last line of the article. "You will get remembered if you use a $2 bill,” Bennardo said. “It has this ability to connect people in way that other bills don’t. It opens up a dialogue between you and the cashier.” “It’s a practical bill with inflation. But it’s social currency as well.” More $2 bill fun facts: https://www.cnbstl.com/about-us/news/the-history-of-the-two-dollar-bill Honestly, I can't remember the last time I saw a $2 bill. Didn't even know they still printed them. -
Royal Caribbean using dynamic pricing as demand surges
HBE4 replied to Sigyn's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I was thinking the same thing. Terms like "Surge Pricing" or Dynamic Pricing" are just new, scary terms for good old fashioned "Supply and Demand" that's been around forever and apply to everything. Airlines have been doing it forever. The only difference is that in today's hi-tech world of instant information, prices can be adjusted hourly instead daily or weekly. I will admit, it is annoying when trying to plan something and the price is is constantly changing. When booking an Uber to the airport one time, the price fluctuated between $35 up to $125, back for to $45 within a 45 minute span. I quickly booked at $45 and never looked back. -
White Russian is my go to drink when sitting at the slot machines. For a couple of reasons. 1) it's very filling so I don't have to waste precious gambling times looking for food and 2) the server always seems to have a spare on the tray. At least, in land casinos they do. And I guess Woo-woos are still a thing. Agreed, much better as a shot and not a sipping drink.

I know, right? My finger is getting tired from clicking the "like" button on all of the jackpot pics she's posting. 😉😁 So awesome @Lionesss Keep it up and the cruise will pay for itself Not sure if it was answered but it's a .25 cent machine so divide the total credits by 4. Are the credits still cumulative or did you start a new ticket?

I've always flew in the day before a cruise. Then 2 days. After a few more, it became 3 days. Nothing like pre-cruise beach vacation to up the anticipation of the cruise. Plus, mid-week airfare and hotel rates are generally cheaper. Of course, I realize how luck we were as we both had plenty of vacation time and none of the family or budget constraints others might have. Excellent! So sorry to hear about your travel troubles. It was beginning to remind me of the movie "Trains, Planes and automobiles". Hopefully you'll be able to laugh about it as you share your story at the Schooner Bar. Focus on the upcoming fun this and leave the hotel fight for when you return.
