  1. It was Chicken Curry. It definitely wasn't an Indian Curry, actually more Malaysian tasting. Here's a photo. Also on the tray is grilled corn on the cob, rice and beans, fruit cup. I grew up on Chinese/Malaysian style chicken curry and this reminded me of what my grandma & mom used to make.
  2. No, you're conflating the shows on the inaugural season of the Edge with subsequent shows on all E-Class Ships. Some of the new shows do in fact include aerialists but they do not include audience participation nor do the performers interact with guests either in Eden or anywhere else on the ship. It was the inaugural season on the Edge that had those shows that caused all the controversy. I should know, because I was on one of the Inaugural cruises on the Edge. The first video below is the show in question from the Inaugural Edge cruise. The second video is what shows in Eden are like now. Currently there are also shows in Eden that are sorta like a variety show, with various performances from onboard performers. It may be a singer, aerialists, violinists, artists all doing a little act within a larger show. It's generally over an hour since there's all these different performances. 3. That is absolutely incorrect. Those shows were NEVER on the Apex or Beyond.
  4. "A flight is an order of samplings or tastings of selected beverages or food items that is served on a wooden board or in a specially designed carrier."
  5. You get that at the Casino Cashier Window. All the casino people, hosts and other workers are all very friendly.
  6. You are 100% correct in your assumptions and the purpose of that room.
  7. While there's no need to stay overnight I definitely would never book a 9:00am train. That's just crazy. Why put yourself to all that stress?
  8. I looked at your post again and realized you'll be sailing a Europe itinerary. That changes everything, so a European cruise is more about the ports than the ship. Having said that I would first decide which ship, of the ones you're considering, has the best itinerary, since a European cruise is all about that. Then you have to look at pricing and the kinds of cabins you're considering. The Silhouette will be a bit more sedate than either Royal or MSC. I think your kids will be fine since the Ports of call will be the important feature here, but no the main pool deck won't be filled with the sounds of children playing and running around. But my comments above about the absence of amenities still stands, and again it will depend on whether you think the absence of them will cause them to have a lesser vacation experience.
  9. TBH I would stick with those two lines. Is there a particular reason you want to sail Celebrity with your Children? Celebrity is a 'make your own fun' cruiseline. Besides the kid and teens club there literally is nothing on the ship that's geared towards kids. No water parks, rope course, rock climbing walls, no kids pool, no arcade, no merry go round, no aqua theater, no flowrider, not even a basketball court. After cruising the Symphony and Seaview for your kids the Silhouette will be a major downgrade and TBH a quite boring cruise. You know what your kids did on those cruises. If they took advantage of all those amenities, your choice should be quite clear, since none of those amenities exist on the Silhouette.
  10. Yes, my husband, who likes everything plain, had the pulled pork, which he enjoyed very much. All the restaurants were quite accommodating about leaving off sauces for him and he even enjoyed Pink Agave when usually he never touches Mexican (It was an accommodation for ME, and he was pleasantly surprised and glad he went) Edit: Sufficient to say we didn't make it to Gungbae.
  11. I'll have to disagree with this statement. I thoroughly enjoyed what was offered, it was fresh, tasty, and well prepared. Having said that the offerings are very limited and have a very narrow appeal. If they are going to offer a limited menu I think there needs it be at least one or two choices that are a little more basic, such as a burger, hot dog, or grilled chicken.
  12. That doesn't make any sense, and I can see your confusion. Why would they allow Unvaccinated guests a longer testing period than vaccinated guests? It should be the other way around.
  13. My favorite English food has to be Sunday Roast. Here's a photo from June 19th Sunday Roast ( Pork in the foreground, beef in the background) at Black Dog Pub in London. This was a post cruise stay after 31 days on the Carnival Pride. Yum Yum! https://theblackdogvauxhall.com/
  14. The Virgin Beach Club is way further down on Bimini and not connected to the Hilton or Resorts World, beaches, although it does utilize their trolleys. The Virgin Beach Club was always kinda fuzzy until you're there or look at Google Maps. When first proposed it was described as it's own private enclave. Then later descriptions implied it was just an extension of the Hilton and Resorts World Beaches, which is not the same as a totally separate enclave. If you look at Google maps Satellite view you'll get a definitive answer. TBH it's a bit of both. It's a totally separate Beach Club that sits within the the Resorts World Hilton complex but isn't connected at all to the Hilton Hotels. Having said this who actually owns the beach club and/or developed it is still not clear. There definitely is joint agreements as to the usage.
  15. Although I have not sailed in Yacht Club I have sailed Retreat Class on Apex and it's wonderful. Having said that in your situation I would hands down recommend the MSC Seascape over the Apex solely because you have teens. There's so much more on a MSC ship for your teens it will make a world of difference for them. Celebrity ships, TBH, aren't really designed for teens. There's really not that many activities or ship amenities for them. No water slides, water parks, ropes courses, not even a basketball court. Celebrity is a 'make your own kind of fun without the bells and whistles' kind of cruiseline. I also don't think you'll be giving anything up since most people that sail on Celebrity in a Suite have very, very good things to say about MSC's Suite product. IMO, the choice is clear.
  16. How are you coming to that conclusion? Sailing Testing Requirements: Pre-Arrival/Embarkation Covid-19 Test All guests ages 2 and older must present a digital or physical copy of a supervised, and negative COVID-19 test result at check-in to board their sailing, whether a pre-arrival test (for vaccinated) or test administered at the terminal (for unvaccinated). Up to Date* Guests: Must present a negative Antigen test taken within 2 days prior to sailing. Testing at the terminal will not be required. Fully-Vaccinated** Guests: Must present a negative Antigen test taken within 2 days of sailing. Testing at the terminal will not be required. For itineraries that end in Spain, pre-arrival test must be taken within 1 day of sailing regardless of homeport. Unvaccinated Guests: Must present either a negative Antigen test taken within 1 day of sailing or have the option to be tested at the Terminal prior to Embarkation.  Guests who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may present a Certificate of Recovery and proof of the positive PCR or Antigen test result taken between 11 and less than 180 days prior to the sail date in order to board and be exempt from testing. The Certificate of Recovery can be presented as an NHS COVID Pass, EU Certificate of Recovery or as a letter from a healthcare provider. In addition, you must still present a vaccination card. Please be aware that some ports of call do not accept a Certificate of Recovery for the purposes of debarking and enjoying the destination. We will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in place of a vaccination record.***
  17. Great to hear. We're booked next July on the Apex for Iceland, Scotland, and Ireland.
  18. Yes, our plan is a senior plan that's no longer offered, but we're grandfathered. We pay $60 all in for 2 phones, no extra taxes or fees. That's unlimited data, call, texts, includes free international data roaming, texts, but at 2G speeds, and calls at .25/min. We actually debated whether to upgrade and in doing the math it would pay only if we were planning to travel overseas more. In our case we would like to travel less overseas, so we figured we'll pay per trip for a higher speed data plan. But in your case you're getting free 5G data speeds, so you're good with that.
  19. While that is true and it does work, depending on what you're doing on land at each port would determine whether you should pay extra for T-Mobile high speed data roaming. For years we used the free data and we did a lot of our own touring using Google maps for directions and recommendations for things to see, places to eat. 2G speeds are painfully slow once you're used to 5g LTE. If all you're doing is checking emails, social media, and the occasional restaurant recommendations, the T-Mobile free 2G international data plan is adequate. But if you're going to use Google maps for step by step tour info directions for 5-6 hours at each port it would behoove you to pay for the high speed data plan. We did exactly this this past May/June when we were in Europe for 5 weeks on the Carnival Pride. We paid for the 30 day plan, 1st time ever, and it was well worth the money. There were numerous people on our cruise complaining that Greece and Italy are technologically backwards because GPS doesn't work on their cell phones. It wasn't the countries that were backwards but not having the proper data connection on their phone that was the issue, which no one seemed to understand.
  20. The OP asked about a water feature in the Thermal Suite/Spa. No Celebrity ship has a water feature in the Thermal Suite/Spa.
  21. I'm glad you enjoyed your experience with Early Set Dining on the Edge Class ships. Your description is mostly correct, but here is how Celebrity explains it. Quote "Celebrity Select Dining On our Celebrity Edge® Series ships, we may have reinvented the main restaurant experience with four restaurants, but we haven’t changed the way you plan your dining in these restaurants. Now, you can choose Celebrity Select Dining Early or Celebrity Select Dining Late, and you’ll be assigned one of the four main dining restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request. Choose Celebrity Select Dining Anytime, and you can dine in any of the four restaurants when you want. There’s nothing traditional about dining with us. With Celebrity Select Dining the choice of how you plan your evening meals is up to you." I wish they would explain this out more clearly, since it's a frequently asked topic here on CC. Below is a link to their official blog with a more extensive explanation of dining on Celebrity ships. https://www.celebritycruises.com/blog/celebrity-select-dining Edit: Celebrity also confused the dining aspect even more by renaming all dining choices as Celebrity Select Dining, with the subset of Select Dining Early, Select Dining Late, and Select Dining Anytime.
