  1. No, you can get extra entrees. Lobster is only one. You can get multiple entrees, appetizers, desserts.
  2. Do you know what the definition of indentation is? Indentation has multiple meanings: A notch, cut, or dent in something. For example, a hammer striking metal makes indentations. An angular cut, such as a notch, or something that looks like a cut in an edge. For example, indentations along the edge of a leaf. A usually deep recess, such as along a coastline. A dent, or slight hollow. This is why I tell people to look for the indentation, the recess, which is where the bed will be placed since the rest of the cabin is too narrow to have space at the foot of the bed, The Bed has to be where the INDENTATION in the cabin walls are. You just told people to look at the opposite of what I am saying, by looking for the bump out or bulge in the cabin walls and that's where the bed WON'T BE.
  3. Or put another way look at each room on the deck plan and see where there's that little indented area, which is where the bed is located. So the 2 rooms you are asking about if you look at the walls of the cabin you'll see there's a slight indentation near the window, so that's where the bed will be. If you look, for example, at rm 7250 you'll see the indentation is more like in the middle of the room. This means the bed is by the bathroom in the front of the cabin. What's not drawn in is the bathroom, which is why it seems like the bed will be in the middle of the room.
  4. What do you have to be nervous about? We disembarked the Ascent 3 weeks ago and not only made our 9:46 am flight from FLL but had 30 minutes to have some breakfast at the AMEX airport lounge. Are you afraid you're not going to make a 3:30pm flight?
  5. There's no laundry service included with a CC cabin.
  6. On both ships we weren't in Retreat Class, so that's the difference. But on Royal, NCL, and Carnival next day laundry return is for all passengers, so my comments still still stands. I think I've said this before but next day laundry return seems to be a Zenith level perk since the two times we were in Retreat (post restart and two different ships and ship class - Reflection and the Apex) Class we never received next day laundry return and in fact on the Apex the first laundry was returned on the 4th day(If it was Monday when given we got it back Thursday) since we gave the laundry after 10am and the Butler said it will be treated as if we had handed it in tomorrow morning. So two day laundry is my experience on the flagship three weeks ago.
  7. It will be interesting to see your laundry experiences on the other premium lines. I know you've written that you almost always receive your Celebrity laundry the next day but that has never been our experience. For us it's always returned on the 2nd day after handing it in and it was that way last July on the Apex and last month on the flagship Ascent(Always turn in laundry in before 9:00am). Compare that to next day return on sister line Royal, NCL and even Carnival demonstrates that Celebrity has work to do regarding laundry turnaround.
  8. The bifold room dividers are frosted so it still lets in the light. There is a blackout shade but that's against the window, so yes you can lower it for total darkness but then no one can be on the balcony portion of the room with the window down and/or seeing the views out the window.
  9. You're absolutely correct, everyone values how their money is spent in different ways. In this case the OP is conflicted in which way they should go and is specifically asking for advice and perspectives.
  10. The key to your decision is how often you plan to use the thermal suite. If you aren't planning on using it it every day then you are better off allocating the $800 towards specialty dining, which includes the Lawn Club Grill and the Porch. Blu doesn't serve lunch and TBH regarding breakfast the MDR serves a sit-down breakfast so there's ways to avoid the buffet for breakfast without staying in Aquaclass. Besides, eggs over easy and toast is going to be the same whether in Blu or the MDR. IMO breakfast is one of the least important meals of the three where it really makes a difference whether you're eating at the MDR or Blu or Luminae.
  11. I think it was referring to your statement about closing the bifold doors and it's like a regular balcony. That's the whole debate that doing that is not remotely like a real balcony since your still inside while in a real balcony you're outside.
  12. No worries, I just don't want others that are reading this thread take away inaccurate information. When the Edge first debuted the bifold doors had clear glass panes. People complained that it let in too much light in. The solution was to place frosting decals on the clear glass so it cut out some of the light but not all. That has been the way the bifold doors are for all the the E-Class ships, no other variations exist. People have always opined that Celebrity can change the IV cabin in such a way to install weather tight bifold doors so that the HVAC doesn't turn off when they are closed. What they don't account for is that the area designated as the balcony is inside your cabin and not a weatherproof outdoor space, so it's not simply changing out the bifold doors for real weatherproof sliders.
  13. That's very interesting. Thank you for your opinion on the IV room differences. It's interesting MSC takes a different approach and treats it as a new cabin category class and design-wise it's an Oceanview cabin with a panoramic window that opens.
  14. Yes, I just noticed the blind. The difference with the curtains vs the bifold doors is more light control. It also seems the balcony portion is deeper on the Icon cabin vs the E-Class version. Here's a video review of the cabin, starting at the 7:05 minutes into the video:
  15. If that's the case you're 100% wrong. I've stayed on IV cabins on all four E-Class ships and none have what your referring to. All IV cabins on all four E-Class ships, whether standard, Aqua, or Conceige, have FROSTED bi-fold room dividers that when closed create the illusion of a separate room. These room dividers don't control the HVAC nor are they room darkening. So I'm not sure what you're referring to. I was on the Ascent two weeks ago in an infinite veranda so I speak from experience.
  16. What are you referring to? E-Class ships or the Icon?
  17. Not exactly. The room dividers are frosted, so it will still let in a lot of light in even when they are in the closed position. On Royal's new icon of the Seas the IV cabins on that ship no longer have bifold screens and blackout shade but instead have just blackout curtains. The other point is even with the room dividers closed the space in no way resembles or feels like a regular balcony. In a regular balcony you are outside with air that flows from all sides. Not so in an IV room since you are never outside, you're always inside you cabin.
  18. What we did on last July on our Apex cruise to Iceland is sit by the window and periodically lower the window. When it got too cold (we weren't wearing any coats) since the heat is off we would close the window and just sit by the window with it closed. The panoramic window provides great views. For example the attached photo is taken with the window closed(you can see the controls in the reflection) but I also took photos with the window down.
  19. Not true. March 17 2015 on the Constellation before Celebrity started marketing to a wider demographic and going to Cococay. Having said that it was a bit less crazy than the Royal ship a week before on a s2s. 2nd & 3rd and 4th photos are on the Royal cruise a week before.
  20. Celebrity uses white cloth laundry bags fleetwide for all cabin classes. It hasn't been paper bags in years.
  21. I guess I wasn't clear enough but that's what we did also.
  22. While Bangkok is indeed far away from the port what we did, albeit 11 years ago, was to do a private tour 2 day tour with an overnight in Bangkok. It was basically a transfer to our Bangkok hotel the 1st day,and we had a great dinner out and went to the night market. The next day the same tour guide picked us up and we went to see the temples, then back to the ship. It all depends on what you're interested in seeing and doing.
  23. Agreed. We've eaten at Tuscan Grille a handful of times and were never wowed by the experience. Qsine (one of the Newer but also since replaced restaurants-See what I mean about things always changing? ) on the other hand was a fun and different dining experience that was enjoyable and had good food. Definitely not the traditional Old World Fine dining restaurant. But to be honest those types of restaurants don't really exist anymore on land, and if they do they aren't considered the vanguard of fine dining.
  24. A long time ago. There also used to be a conservatory with fake plants. The current Millenium is very different from the MIllennium that debuted in 2000, almost 24 years ago.
