  1. Apparently one of your fellow passengers was flushing things they weren't supposed to. Here's another passenger from your trip reporting issues with the toilets and what they were told. It shouldn't have taken 4 days to resolve, unless it WAS resolved and the offender kept doing what they were doing. Medical care on ships is not included in your fare. Do I sympathize with the parents seeking care for a child in distress? To an extent. If it was a known allergy the parents should have been prepared to handle it just in case. If it was a known food allergy they should have been forthcoming with their server (they ask EVERY TIME you're seated) or asked the right questions at the buffet. If it was an allergy they weren't aware of before, that's a problem.
  2. I toured this in 2014, I agree. In 2014 the entrance fee was for the entire day, you could exit and return later. We did that and went to grab lunch at the pub right near the entrance then went back in to see the rest of the place.
  3. The AirTag, like similar products, relies on other iPhone owners' devices 'reading' the tag and reporting to the system where it was on earth using their device's GPS location at the time of the encounter. Within 5 seconds that location is out of date, not to mention that location is going to be a random spot in the middle of the ocean rather than being identified as on the ship. Oh, and GPS signals are often blocked inside the metal of the ship, especially where the kids clubs are usually located. It relies on those devices that encounter the tag having a constant internet connection as well. Imagine someone's device encountering your child, then 30 minutes later they turn on their internet. You go to look at the location of that tag and it's 30 or more miles BEHIND the ship because another device hasn't encountered the tag since then. IMO - they're best used on land or for tracking bags that are handed over to an airline for a flight. In other words, it'll more of a game of "hot or cold" than a "OH, THAT'S where they are!" A story about a Tile tag situation. My sister had one in her checked bag when we flew home from LA. We had a layover in Philadelphia. When we got to our home airport the tag was "seen" in Chicago! My assumption being that someone sitting on the plane near her bag that was also a Tile community member had picked up her Tile, that person deboarded the first flight and proceeded to a flight to Chicago from Philadelphia. That person landed in Chicago before we got to our home airport and their app reported in their location in Chicago as the location of her bag, UNTIL someone in our airport encountered her tag and reported the location.
  4. I think they should be able to accommodate that, you might want to visit the reservations desk or one of the MDRs on embarkation day to make arrangements though. Specialty dining might be more of an issue as I don't think the standard setups have tables for more than 8. Larger tables in the Manhattan Room might be rectangular so conversation from one end to the other might be difficult. No I had to look this up, you're going to Great Stirrup Cay, not Harvest Cay. GSC is near Nassau, Harvest Cay is much farther West. Keep in mind that GSC is a tender port and actually visiting the island is VERY weather-dependent.
  5. They usually do. They did in 2019 when I sailed in October.
  6. At 30 seconds (and I think earlier), those random openings in the deck with the glass surrounds are going to be a "traffic" flow NIGHTMARE if the ship is fully booked!
  7. I would, but that certainly prices me out of the trip. I'm actually sailing solo and considering it's a port-intensive cruise a Studio cabin may not be horrible. Also, I DID consider that maybe the room selection wasn't offered due to availability. The below phrase may not have been worded properly. @ggTexasGal I figured that sailing was going to be a bit of an "in-between" for Spring Breaks as, at least in the NorthEast, those are tied to Easter weekend, either being the week before or the week after.
  8. Oddly enough - I've been browsing for a possible cruise in March next year and have found that the Escape is NOT offering a "pick your own room" option in the same category as other similar ships do. If I pick the balcony on the Escape with Free-at-sea offers (so, NOT the sail-away), it comes up as a guarantee and does not offer that option. Picking the same stateroom type on the Joy assigns me a stateroom and gives the opportunity to pick a different room. Screenshots for proof Joy - Escape - So it seems not every ship offers the option. I'm not sure if this is an indication of how full the ship is or if this is a difference between ships.
  9. Travel insurance is NOT just for those needing to travel to the embarkation port!
  10. Some previous discussion from the OP on this topic -
  11. I believe there's a single ship-wide kids menu that is complimentary everywhere, otherwise they just order off the adult menu in the specialty venues. The rest is as noted above, and in the many, many other threads on the topic.
  12. I believe the discount for "turning in" the unused free-at-sea minutes to upgrade to unlimited is only available on days 1 and 2. After that there is no credit. The key, though, is that you can't have activated the free minutes.
  13. See my previous reply in this thread..
  14. I say this on every thread on this topic (yes, there have been many others, a couple in the last month) - Assuming you ALSO have the free-at-sea dining perk, book the cover-charge venues FIRST as the system will assume you're going to use the perk meals and THEN book the a-la-carte venues since there is no charge to book those. This way NOTHING is charged until you get on board and you can choose which meal type to use for each venue as you're not "locked in" to using one credit or the other based on the booking except for the restrictions on the Platinum voucher.
  15. I was going to help by linking it but I can't find it, and I even participated in it!
  16. if you don't have a pocket for the card you will need a lanyard, yes. @NayRN has the rest covered.
  17. I guess I'm in that category of "devil" anymore. You DID happen to note their screen name, right?
  18. Unless you have a large group there's really no need to make a reservation for the Manhattan Room.
  19. Nope. They have at-home test kits that can be self-administered and monitored by a proctor using a computer, smart phone or tablet (as long as the device has a camera). The proctor confirms the results and you get an email with the result within minutes of completion (addressing your other concern of when you get the result). Oh, it doesn't HAVE to be taken at home, it can be done anywhere with an internet connection. Those at-home tests are also CHEAPER than going someplace for a test - the free government kits can be proctored for a fee of $20 each (I think) or the Binax kits can be purchased for $70 for a pack of 2 with the proctor fee included.
  20. I didn't see it posted here, found it on the Royal board as new information posted last night and figured I'd share here. https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/covid-19-cruise-ship-guidance.html Skimming it, this seems largely similar to the previous requirements/program.
  21. Answered right in the T&C's of the promo - https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions Date deviations can be added up to 75 days prior to embarkation; once flight is ticketed, date deviations can no longer be requested.
  22. Hence the second part of my post, which you failed to quote...
  23. I'd prefer Delta over American. My parents had a horrible experience with AA earlier this year, and I know of someone else that had a horrible experience with AA last week. The situation last week was resolved by booking Delta flights. I'm not sure any particular airline is safe from horrible experiences right now, though the low-cost carriers seem to be less in the news.
  24. Why not? Were you booking 15 minutes before the promo was scheduled to 'expire'? The agent should have been able to temporarily hold your reservation (a travel agent can, and this may be a benefit of booking through one in addition them being knowledgable about the pitfalls of these deals) so you could go do some research to determine if it was something you wanted. For all the people saying this you'd think their ships would be empty. This is most often said after being frustrated with something they (the customer) didn't understand all the details about. The promo T&C's don't list a maximum time for connections, but it does have a policy regarding maximum connections. They also don't list any kind of guarantee for when the flights will be.
