    Keep in mind that when you buy a glass of wine it is the second (or third - or fourth) glass of wine you have paid for.

    The deciding factor, I think, is whether or not you are OK with the included wines. You have to hit it pretty hard to get your "money's worth" at $50 per couple per day unless you're drinking "premium" wine as well as a couple cocktails each. And if you're ashore at lunch the package is of no value at all.

    What you want to do in Stavanger is book the Pulpit Rock Cruise privately with Rodne. One third what Viking charges although you miss out on a waffle. Just thought I'd be the first to not answer your question 😀.

    My guess is that much of the problem with seafood (and many other items) is that it arrives aboard frozen and not necessarily the highest quality to begin with. Frozen Asian shrimp just doesn't cut it for those who have eaten fresh Gulf shrimp.

    We've been on "moderate" excursions that were basically bus rides while others were forced marches.

    My wife can't handle lamb and getting a NY steak instead was readily offered and accepted. It wasn't very good. Neither was the lamb. Chef's Table is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated. And don't get me going on what Manfredi's calls a steak.
