  1. Keep in mind that when you buy a glass of wine it is the second (or third - or fourth) glass of wine you have paid for.
  2. Someone must have gotten a glass with some vermouth and an olive then hauled it back to the cabin to make a martinni. Maybe they'll provide an answer.
  3. Are you bringing your own bitters? Demerara syrup? Luxardo cherries? Lemon Twist? Etc.?
  4. I have my doubts that the policy will be overlooked - worth a try. But ----- if you really are "not necessarily worried about the money" ----------------------- .
  5. The deciding factor, I think, is whether or not you are OK with the included wines. You have to hit it pretty hard to get your "money's worth" at $50 per couple per day unless you're drinking "premium" wine as well as a couple cocktails each. And if you're ashore at lunch the package is of no value at all.
  6. That fact has been brought up many times although some still think the package entitles them to "premium" wines unavailable to others.

  13. What you want to do in Stavanger is book the Pulpit Rock Cruise privately with Rodne. One third what Viking charges although you miss out on a waffle. Just thought I'd be the first to not answer your question 😀.

  17. My guess is that much of the problem with seafood (and many other items) is that it arrives aboard frozen and not necessarily the highest quality to begin with. Frozen Asian shrimp just doesn't cut it for those who have eaten fresh Gulf shrimp.

  20. We've been on "moderate" excursions that were basically bus rides while others were forced marches.
  21. My wife can't handle lamb and getting a NY steak instead was readily offered and accepted. It wasn't very good. Neither was the lamb. Chef's Table is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated. And don't get me going on what Manfredi's calls a steak.

  24. Last night it stopped me at four for Manfreddi's. This morning it let me make two more. Again ----- go figure.
