  1. Sorry I meant machines (all video poker) less theo though ; you’re right (3% vs. 10%)
  2. On a recent 3-day carnival I earned like 3500 points (all slots) and got a free balcony bounce-back. $17,500 coin-in with a 10% house edge…$1750 expected loss for a balcony cabin for two..not a bad deal at that rate.
  3. We sailed on the Royal in 2019 with Matt O; and he was a riot!
  4. Better than carnival! after 10:30pm; carnival only has garbage can pizza or $$ crappy room service.
  5. CCL (Same games on carnival as on princess) offers: - Craps (Only Double Odds) - Blackjack (6:5 on tables less than $25) - Let It Ride - Heads Up Hold ‘Em (similar to UTH; but a little worse house edge) - Three Card Prime (exactly the same game as Three Card Poker; it just has a “prime” bonus bet) - Roulette (Mostly 00; but I swear I saw a 000 somewhere)
  6. Damn; so any more than a $20 ante/blind and you’re not getting the “full” payout!? That’s low AF!
  7. Princess tables don’t charge either way (when you get it from your bank or the room; only carnival is that cheap lol)
  8. On the Sky Princess we found 7/5 Bonus Poker (98.01%) for $1 denom ($5 a hand). Best vp we’ve seen on a cruise ship.
  9. We did the same thing..except we do have friends that will join us. for next time though definitely I’ll call up the carnival casino company.
  10. I was wondering about this.. so on my princess cruise next year; on my freeplay offer, it says this: is this the “vip” that you speak of?
  11. The board just answered this for me..for the other two adults you can’t book it ahead of time; you just have to eat the 10% higher cost and book it once aboard. (The carnival system doesn’t know what your casino offer is; so it can’t “see” that you have cheers already)
  12. I know this is a carnival section..but my PVP on princess adds both my wife and I’s separate offers (Ie: I had $200 OBC and she had $500 freeplay..we get both offers on our upcoming cruise)
  13. Probably just a better PVP than the one we got assigned, haha.
  14. So we’ve had DOU (in casino) a few times and every time we go talk to the casino staff onboard on day1 And they all say the same thing “This would have had to been taken care of prior to boarding, we have no ability to add it” so this is why I reached out to a PVP; who told me, and I quote: “That offer is under your husband, however I would see the casino host and ask if you qualify as well. They can look at your portfolio #.” However we’ve never emailed casino@carnival…we’re just so used to working through a PVP (with princess) that we thought maybe a carnival PVP could be as effective.
  15. I do; so does my my wife (via her own marketing offer; but carnival can NOT use individual offers like princess can) so yeah; you answered it perfectly..it’s not possible until we board. lol how did carnival spend so much on making a kickass app; yet fail miserabley elsewhere? Hahaha
  16. So on our next cruise; I earned DOU (all over the ship) via marketing offer..however if I want to buy my wife cheers (since I already have it); the website won’t let me…it will *only* let me choose for wife AND I. So..other than waiting to purchase until I’m on the ship..how do I accomplish this? also; please don’t say use the call center (they can only see the same thing I see on the website; I know; I work with call centers frequently) also, if you say use a PVP, we tried that and she said “when you get on the boat, talk to the casino staff” (because both my wife and I separately have offers for DOU; so we asked the PVP how we can sail and BOTH use our offers {Our Princess PVP does this for us every cruise}) maybe we just got a dumb PVP?
  17. Jr. Suites on the Fantasy class; are really just balcony rooms on another class. (Our first cruise was fantasy class in a “jr suite”)
  18. LBC is our home port. We’ve done quite a few 4 night and 7 night cruises out of it (Inspiration, Imagination, Splendor, Miracle, Panorama, and this weekend the Radiance) IMHO; for a 3-4 night sailing (Ensenada run) we prefer the smaller ships (Fantasy Class, Spirit Class). We recently took a 10 day Alaska on the miracle and got real bored of the lack of dining options. For a 7 day cruise you definitely want more options than just Lido and MDR. (Ie; the Radiance and Panorama have many more options like Cucina and Guy’s BBQ). Personally, I hated the Panorama, because it seems like these newer ships are trying to cram more staterooms on, so everything ELSE is smaller and there’s more people aboard. We actually really loved the Splendor for its roomyness; however it also only has the Lido and MDR. End result: short cruise, a smaller ship is OK. longer cruise, we want a bigger boat with more variety. also I believe the Radiance is “newer” than Panorama (I say in quotes because I know it was the Triumph before, but it was completely redone)
  19. Damn I didn’t know they had sculpin! ill drink thst all day err day
  20. I’ve been on both..on the panorama WiFi was absolutely a joke (literally 56kbps!) then recently on the miracle it wasn’t too bad (~20Mbps). So; it really just depends on how full the ship is with people on WiFi. and yes vpn will work (we use PAN and it worked fine)
  21. We are on the radiance over Labor Day..we already had no intention on getting off at port, lol. (Done it once, gave it another chance, no need to try again)
  22. I did. Believe me on carnival they don’t give a hoot. thetll only stop you if you’re wearing a bathing suit. (And probably only a wet one at that)
  23. Honestly right now any carnival cruise out of LBC is going to be 100% packed. California is full of people and carnival will do anything to sell their ship 100% out. it sucks but get a balcony and just avoid public areas.
  24. Sure there would..more fun! Would you rather make drinks and be out there in the “public” or in the staterooms all day cleaning them?
  25. From what we gathered from the employees; ALL guest facing carnival employees basically get paid around the same amount (obviously like a “manager” is going to get paid more..but the person serving your drink is getting paid the same as the person dealing your cards, and the same as the person making up your stateroom…this makes it easy as no one is “fighting” for one specific job)
