  1. I got the email and was completely pulled into this one. I feel this is the best one they have done for so many reasons. I see/read so much negativity lately everywhere and this webinar took me away for an hour and I have nothing NOTHING bad to say about it. The sound and video was perfect (for me), the topic of Europe (nuff said), the light hearted banter and insight from all the captains and their favorite ports, the way it flowed. I loved it and yes I watched for PUP but in my opinion this one was worth the watch regardless. Well done Celebrity Club!
  2. This is exactly what I expect to not like about the IV. I get up early (6:30 usually late for me) and sneak out onto the balcony and just sit there peacefully while my travel partner is still sleeping in a dark room. With the IV, it appears that even if you close the inner French doors they are not black out so assume the room would end up quite bright from the daylight. I am sad that this part of my day will be spoiled by the way this is designed. I wish the French doors area would have offered full black out so that you could still turn this 'infinite' area into a truly closed off area like the curtains did for the balcony. I hadn't even considered the noise of lowering the window. 😞 I am very much looking forward to finally experiencing this stateroom, I had a deluxe inside on my prior Edge sailing so I am thankful to be able to see and hear the ocean from my room this time.
  3. So torn about Eden for my similar itinerary April 7th Edge cruise. It is so tempting to try it but my not being into fancy dining I hold back, and then I read reviews like yours and I get pulled in again. The other thing that I am trying to reconcile is the 'check out' price of $130 for two, will I really think it was worth the sticker price. I've sailed Edge before when in it's inaugural season when they did the strange 'dinner show' there and that was not even close to being something I would consider. Such problems to have 🙂 Loving your review and writing style, it matches my way of thinking. Thanks for taking us along!
  4. I don't think you will get any 'challenges' here that BCC is totally random with everything they do. Extreme smoke and mirrors in their program and much of it one has to stumble upon. I have started getting offers so I cannot complain on that front but I still hear of others getting 'things' that I still knew/know nothing about ... go figure. I'm not the highest gambler so maybe not missing out on too much anyway. I wish Princess would do some level of matching to Celebrity offers I've received as I would love to try Princess with an incentive 🙂 The only thing I would not like so much is the smoking in the Casino, that might be a once and done but I would still like to sail Princess.
  5. As jwlane said above, exactly as shown in the picture, right around the corner, there is a little space in the line indicating the passageway from the hallway to the elevators. I like this area because it is midship too. Looking at the Silhouette, the numbers are the same as Equinox so 7264 would def be the larger of the verandas and forward facing would be my preferred as I like to see where I'm headed instead of where I've been 🙂 The only change I would make was if the same location was available on a bit higher floor as it gets you further away from the lifeboats and also further away from any music that might float up from the grand foyer.
  6. As someone has said, the 1st and 3rd away from the hump are the largest. I had a forward facing one on Equinox, first one from the hump, and it was large. If you look at the deck plan below, we were in 7264 so that will tell you as much as can be said and this 1st, 3rd would apply across the S-class ships. From the Equinox deck plan below 7264, 7260, 7286,7290 would be largest, 7262, 7258, 7288, 7292 would be next in size and still larger than regular veranda. If you are already seeing availability you list above, which appears picked over, would suggest not waiting to book or you won't even have a choice left.
  7. Latte, cappuccino, Americano, hot chocolate, Coke products (and have been handed can).
  8. Same for April, was able to book it with Airmiles. Will be first time staying here or in this area. I couldn't get an Executive corner balcony 😞 so hopefully the room I got is good too. It's nice to see the ships from a balcony but I'll suffer not having that as long as the room is clean and not too run down.
  9. Things 'changed' this year, at least in writing. It's more a question if the same 'policy' of all in a room applies equally pre-cruise/onboard.
  10. Just called and did same for April cruise, one person upgraded and had 10% discount applied ....
  11. Considering Celebrity only changed their policy this month to require all 21+ to have same package, I wouldn't hold my breath. Prior to this, December, you could buy for one. The only way I could see this happening is if in time the math doesn't work in Celebrity's favour and they determine they lost $$ instead of gained by this decision change.
  12. 1. $10 now. 2. It seems both have to upgrade. Zero Proof does not seem to be the same as I had a cruise booked (April) without any package and I could purchase online for one and not the other passenger. Alcohol seems to be more on their radar with the new policy. 3. I doubt this makes any difference but I'm sure others will chime in on #2 and #3. All this said, Celebrity FAQ says this so, even with an answer here, your experience might be different. Does everyone in the stateroom need to purchase the same drink package, including upgrades? The Drink Package Policy requires all guests to purchase the same Drink Package for ALL guests of legal drinking age in the same stateroom (ex. if one guest chooses to upgrade to the Premium Drink Package, ALL guests of legal drinking age in the stateroom must upgrade) This policy applies to packages purchased pre-cruise and onboard.
  13. What does the 'Celebrity embossed key holder' look like? What exactly is this, something for the room key/card?
  14. My April cruise shows $15/$18 for all the traditional martinis. Assume two sizes?
  15. I hate the partial drink menus too, also love (hate) the way one bar menu might show different a price for the same item; obviously due to bad quality control when it comes to document management and price changes not being updated in all places in short order. I've also always had issues with drink menus onboard. They might have some around but they are not always easy to find and even then I find them very limited. I believe this to be intentional not to give us too many ideas. I have to prep myself with ideas beforehand, though ultimately I end up with a beer in my hand 🙂
  16. I see many many below? The Premium limit is $17.
  17. You noticed recently on the app or actually while board? I ask because the app seems very limited for everything so I was believing this to not be all encompassing of what they will actually have. I recall they they used to have Michelob Ultra (could be bad memory) which is not on any menu but was hoping that they might actually have it. I do see it under the Classic Package beer listing but nowhere on any menu but nowhere in the app. I've looked at the app menus more recently and, as with everything Celebrity and their change management, some bar menus show 'old' prices or what I experienced on my last sailing some time ago, whereas some bar menus for the same exact item may be a $1 higher. Stella, Peroni, Blue Moon beer is an example, $10 on some menus, $11 on others. It seems you can't fully trust anything until you see your own charges, if any. I can assume in this case the higher $11 is likely the one that is correct. Not losing sleep over any of this but what a wonderful game of discovery.
  18. Thank you! That looks nice and close too, looks like 16 minutes. Definitely not going to be a challenge finding something nearby.
  19. A grocery store is not exactly what I'm looking for but is not a deal breaker, that said I looked up the CVS that @capriccio mentioned above and it looks like it is definitely walkable so win win. Shows it to be 0.6 mile and 14 minute walk if we end up needing something we don't want (or have) to pack 👍
  20. Thank you! I was also looking at Embassy Suites though reviews there seem not good but it seems to be close to 'stores'. Oh well.
  21. I have this hotel booked for an April cruise. Among the local 'shops' is there a store like Walgreens or a beer/wine store? Just thinking about ability to get water, suntan lotion, wine if within walking distance. Thanks again and really looking forward to this area. I have read a couple negative reviews about age and cleanliness so hoping they are one offs.
  22. Taxes, fees and port expenses. My 10 day was $331 US for two. Did you look at the fine print in the bottom to see if yours has the drinks and wifi included? It won't necessarily say this as the top and one might think it's cruise only like I did. At the top it only said Then way at the bottom in the fine print ... 🙂 *Offer is valid for the Blue Chip Club Member named on sailings stated in this mailing only. This offer includes a Complimentary Concierge Class stateroom, a Classic Drinks Package and Basic Wifi. Taxes, fees, and port expenses are additional.
  23. We've used both in the past for a back to back cruise. They even kept us in the same balcony! So you are both in your own stateroom? How would that work for gratuities, never did solo, do you have to cover as if 2 in one room similar to a single supplement? Sounds like an interesting idea. Maybe you are not sailing alone so ignore if I assuming wrong 🙂
  24. I know. I was not suggesting otherwise or saying others should get the same. I will add however my tier suggests my play has not changed from getting cabin only vs better offer. Even with play, the promotions can be a crap shoot. Last year I was only getting % off and now veranda with drinks ... I haven't sailed since 2019 so nothing changed. There is a method to their madness that is not fully transparent but at the moment I'm running towards the light.
  25. My offers alway goes to my travel buddy ... seems to stem from the way they cross reference emails. She has received 'my' offers for a long time now, also gets my Power Up emails too. I called about it once, they 'fixed' it and here we are, so now I'm just good with it until my travel partner stops talking to me 🙂 The irony is my travel partner typically has the same offers when calling to enquire with BCC. Too exhausting to chase it down LOL
