  1. I went to Roof Top for first time on Edge a week ago and I landed on horrible. I would never ever pay for that again and I do not consider myself overly fussy. The food was all cold, all dishes except the train wrech fries, and what should have been 'grilled' did not even appear cooked let alone grilled ... the seafood kabob OMG the scallop and shrimp I didn't even eat as they looked raw and were totally cold. The steak dish that came with asparagus, I have never seen smaller asparagus in my life, the three on my plate put together might have made one decent size one. I personally have not had a worst specialty restaurant meal than this though service was exceptional. Oh the cookie was made to order so it was hot but we weren't a huge fan of this dish, it was overly sweet but that is personal preference and I totally get why it is liked by many. The restaurant was not that busy so it made no sense but we thought it was that they put food orders in all at once and they don't coordinate making each dish and it gets 'cooked' and sits out back until they see you are ready for it? Oh the cookie was made to order so it was hot but we weren't a huge fan of this dish, it was overly sweet but that is personal preference and I totally get why it is liked by many. I have never tried Lawn Club but was assuming them to be different experiences (hoping) and was thinking of trying this on a future S class cruise but not sure now. Oh we tried Eden, it was really good but thinking a once and done for us but definitely glad we did. Food all came out (very) hot and tasty and the atmosphere can't be beat. We sat there watching the sun go down, a large cargo ship maneuver docking next to us and then our ship doing a 180 as we left the port of St. Lucia, magical.
  2. Sorry I guess two different things and I know what you mean which would be the cruise only rate. For the purposes of these Blue Chip offers 'base' used is All In cost before any discounts or sale pricing so maybe not the best wording here. Any discount offers I've ever called about they tell you it is not usable against cruise only rate
  3. You have to price the cruise you are interested all the way to the end, the base rate will be the initial cost shown on the first line in the summary cost. That is what they use to apply the % off, and it against All In pricing. Taxes do not seem to alter from what is shown on this page either.
  4. I was wondering if the Tomahawk was still an option as it does not show in the menu on the app. If you were there just weeks ago it sounds like it is. Perhaps they don't show it on the app menu because it's a 'sharing' steak? Menus in the app are good but I often find myself wondering if it is listing everything. From the Grill, the app lists only two Filet Mignon and two Ribeye (different sizes).
  5. I cannot answer the OP's question but I will be able to in less than two weeks. I expect to be torn on my thoughts about this type room knowing how I tend to utilize balcony rooms. I am an early riser while my travel partner is not so, as others have mentioned, using this to sit 'outside' in the morning behind dark curtains is just not going to work so I expect to be sad about that. I would typically go get a coffee and then come back to the room and quietly sneak out to watch the waves sail by, but this trip I'm thinking I'll have to alter my morning quiet spot. I look forward to forming my own opinion about these rooms. I don't want to prejudge but clearly there are some aspects of this type of setup that just do not live up to the use of balcony. I have been thinking that this room would be appealing for a cold weather cruise where I would not want to sit outside so much. If this thread is still floating around after my cruise I will come back and offer my thoughts (based on experience) along with others here. No matter what I feel about it, this stateroom will be better than my last Edge inside cabin 🙂
  6. This made me LOL ... assume you refer to foreigners as outside the US. I always find it 'interesting' when people posting here assume the US to be 'the' country here. As others have stated, us 'foreigners' do get the emails. I am in Canada and I sometimes get them sometimes not, a friend of mine also here in Canada same thing and we don't align on the when. There is absolutely no pattern to why some get the emails and some do not, their email distribution is nonsensical.
  7. This ⬆️ To get an idea of what you will pay, go to the very end of simulating an all in booking of your choice and at the end when it shows pricing take the top number before anything is subtracted and 50% that then apply the taxes, the port taxes and such will remain the same. As some others have said, often this discount is not as great as it sounds as ongoing promotions can be almost as good. If you aren't one for the All included it is even less likely to be a good offer since it is only applicable to this. What I was able to do to 'replica' the net 50 for a sailing I booked, using the sample below, the discount is applied to the guest total at the top which is 5069 pp and then add the 267.94 ... the final discounted cost would be 5236.94. Bit cheaper than the 6103.94 (current promotion cost) in this example but not 50% off what one might expect. I have one booked for November (not the sample below) and doing this exactly matched my invoice. You definitely have to do the numbers or call Blue Chip to do them and then ponder the real savings.
  8. Ummmm ... I have only ever sailed in balcony or below and I certainly do not feel like a second class citizen. I focus on what I can do and not on what I can't and I enjoy my cruises thoroughly. I have not once thought about the areas I can't utilize, retreat would be nice but that will never happen so whatever. I will be on the Edge in a couple weeks in another 'balcony', this time infinite for the first time and I cannot wait! If you go into the cruise thinking this way you may end up convincing yourself of something that will taint your vacation.
  9. Product: Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 SM-T870 One UI Version: 5.1 Android Version: 13 Google Play System Update: Jan 2023 Kernel: Update Feb 2023 There is plenty of space (over 2GB) and OS and all apps fully kept up to date. Not the OP but my tablet is not old, the system is updated as much as it can be with plenty of memory available. This does not appear to be related to 'old' system but more that it might be a newer system as it sounds like it works for folks that installed it long ago. It sounds like the Celebrity App build has not kept up with Android and perhaps v13 is the version it will not 'show available' as an app to install. Interestingly the MyRCL App appears available to install along with pretty much every other cruise line ... hmmmm. 🙂 .
  10. Same, it appears what might have worked in the past on older Android OS is 'in the past' and it looks like it is no longer available/supported by Celebrity. They are focused on smartphones, though it may work on iOS tablet (iPad) but that is irrelevant to us with Android tablets.
  11. I have a Samsung tablet as the OP is asking about, it doesn't even present the app to be installed, searching the Play Store returns 'This app won't work for your device'. It would seem it did work at one time in the past but does not work anymore. Found this from another thread in January this year where someone called Celebrity and got this answer. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2904289-no-app-support-for-tablets/?do=findComment&comment=64574080 Unless someone has a hack to actually get it installed on the tablet, I know I certainly would not suggest (nor attempt) doing this.
  12. Celebrity has obviously made the decision to not create an app for a tablet, it is written to be a smartphone app. Not sure there is anything you could do to 'fix' that.
  13. Thanks ... I might have to pay them a visit next month even if just for curiosity.
  14. So you just go to Future Bookings desk and ask if you are 'on a list for BCC offers' for another cruise? Sorry if I missed this detail.

  16. There WAS an Alaska one January 2021 for 5pts, October 2022 there was another for 3pts as Tom-n-Cheryl mentioned.
  17. Nice ... I had not noticed the PUP listed. I have opted into Go Green for my upcoming cruises (did not know of this option before) and I'm interested to see this distinctly listed for me like yours above. Go Green does not seem to show pre-cruise and I keep doubting I have opted in already 🙂
  18. Have you sailed Celebrity before? I will not argue that there was one location online that showed Zero Proof to be included in Classic but based on my own past experience it was viewed as an oversight/mistake on Celebrity's part, other areas did not show the Zero Proof in the Classic listing and people on board were proving it to be a mistake. I seen what you were seeing for my own upcoming cruise and just kept shaking my head on how misleading it was and if someone purchased based on that they would get a shock on board if ordering a Perrier and getting charged. This description was wrong since the Zero Proof was introduced beginning of January so it hasn't been a short window of oversite and people are definitely justified in being angry over this. What I currently see on my booking now for Classic (if purchasing) there is no mention at all for sodas/coffees ... nothing, just alcohol for Classic which is also clearly an oversight (better be!) That said, I upgraded my package to Premium as I like getting Perrier and better drinks so will be good either way. Why they can't seem to get this straight is beyond me (no answer expected!) One can say blame IT but at this point the blame should extend beyond any one team as this has to be known beyond them. IT does not necessarily maintain site content and how it gets written. I work in IT and along my path I was administrator for a divisions website but mostly uploading/updating what other team members passed along to post, I was not an editor. I suspect the same may apply here. Moot point but still worth a mention, oversite and quality control of the overall online content seems to be a challenge for Celebrity. .
  19. ??? I said I did not hear of any activities in January so there will be no posted points in February. This one you note is February which is the one I mentioned in my post that is for Europe webinar that will post points in March.
  20. I did not hear of any activities in January so there should be no expectation of any points posted this month. The most recent webinar (Europe) should post in March by the 14th.
  21. Wouldn't miss it! Love the writer 🙂 and love to read about cruise adventures when the writer is good. Princess is a must try for me one day.
  22. NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!! NOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo !!! Gonna miss this 🙂 Was hoping you would have ended up at Rooftop Grill as I was curious to hear your thoughts given the two nights you went to Eden. Thanks for taking us along with you on your cruise!
  23. 1. Me too ... guess I'm drunk too 🙂 Not that I would say I ever didn't like her. 2. Totally agree, this one was enjoyable. Especially enjoyed the social dynamic between them all. .
