  1. If I wanted one of the sunbeds I would definitely report to the pool attendant. If instead I was not wanting or needing one of the chairs I would not go out of my way to report (I would mention if a pool attendant walked by) ... HOWEVER ... if I seen other passengers passing by looking for chairs and seeming to be looking at these sitting there I would definitely be telling them what I've observed and let them go to the pool attendant if they wish. Gotta love entitled people. I wish the chairs had a sensor that if you didn't sit in it for so long it would do an auto tip and items would fall to the deck. The pool attendant could then collect stuff on the floor at determined amount of time throughout the day (hourly?) ๐Ÿ™‚ A malfunctioned chair could be a problem LOL
  2. It's all government offices in there now. That's a meeting room behind those windows. I used to work in that building until they relocated my team.
  3. They have harbour swims each year to raise money but it isn't the swim distance I would worry about, it's what is funneled into the water (and it's man made if you catch my drift ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
  4. I wish I could take credit, it's been very hot and muggy the last week or so but today seems like a really nice balanced day. Thanks for touching down in our city ๐Ÿ™‚
  5. I have similar sentiments Jim. I used to watch some of their content but it was just too much noise to get to the content. I don't like feeling like I am being pulled in to listen to a whole lotta 'extra' to fill the video and what I feel is a lot of unwarranted hype and drama and waiting and waiting for what the video title 'promises'. Titles like 'I HATED my Cruise (and why you might too!)' or 'We're Fighting' or 'We're Fighting ... Again' ... oh my. Brings to mind magazines ... enquiring minds want to know ๐Ÿ™‚ Many like them so guess it's good we have choices. Now back to you Jim and Iain and your lovely live cruise report!
  6. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of what might be open in the Toronto Pearson airport during the wee hours overnight? Flights are terrible returning from a cruise late November and there is nothing that does not land us in this airport for some hours overnight as a layover. I have been there done that with booking a hotel in this situation, I did not find it a good experience. We will arrive after midnight and fly out first thing in the morning so the intent is to just wait it out in the airport. What I am wondering is if anything is open after midnight.
  7. I would challenge that ... reality shows have us fooled ๐Ÿ˜‰ This one I will give a pass on (don't like the Bachelor and such shows) but I do watch my fair share of reality TV (sadly LOL) I was hoping seeing the commercial that it really was a revisit of the old Love Boat series, I LOVED that show so much as it was mindless carefree entertainment that made me smile and one could pretty well always predict the ending in the first 10 minutes. Edited to add: I won't go so far as to call it stupid as I do have some dignity when speaking of what I entertained myself in yesterdays ๐Ÿคช
  8. I've asked for this many times, many times emptied with a smile, but at least once it never happened by day # so I just pulled the contents all out and stacked it on the counter and then just put it back at the end of the cruise. Like many, I wanted to put my own things in there like bottled water, yogurt/milk from the buffet (or a dessert snack for later). It isn't a really cold 'fridge' but it served my needs; I had read somewhere long ago that if you open the 'cupboard' door that houses the 'fridge' (if there is one) it lets air circulate better and seems to make it work better and get colder so I would do this whenever I could (when I knew I wouldn't walk into it.)
  9. Loving your review and it is so interesting to see my great hometown city through a visitors eyes, I see things I haven't really 'seen' myself. I love Halifax and all it has to offer and with water all around us it is a little peace of Heaven. Thank you for sharing your travels with all of us !
  10. This is all so confusing what you are saying, your dates keep changing. Respectfully, my itinerary definitely has Bonaire everywhere in my Nov 2023 sailing, on my booking, on my excursion options, on Celebrity site??????????????? I never said Nov 13, 2022 was a 9 night. You mentioned dates all the way to next November in your original post thus everyone speaking to dates out further. I understand your unlaying messaging that 'many' are being shortened going forward but there are still some 9 nights to be had ... at least at the moment. And I agree that seeing a trend of the longer sailings disappear is unfortunate but hopefully this is only a wave that will shift back when things evolve from current times.
  11. Mine is November 13 and Bonaire is listed in my ininerary in my booking and still shows on Celebrity site???????
  12. Assume you are referring to Equinox only here as I have a 9 night ABC Nov 2023 cruise booked on the Beyond.
  13. As others have stated, it will depend on the sailing as it is not a perfect math because Celebrity would do their own math to decide how enticing to make the cruise only rate to perhaps fill a ship. For Cruise Only the Gratuities (AKA service charges) will be automatic charges on your onboard account each day and vary by type of stateroom (shown below from Celebrity site) but everything else is a choice; what drink package you ultimately want to add makes a difference, considering like for like Classic Package ($69 per day + required 20% gratuity) is $82.80 per day. Celebrity automatically adds gratuities to guestsโ€™ onboard SeaPassยฎ account, except for guests in Excluded Bookings*, as defined below, in the following amounts: $15.50USD per person, per day for Inside, Ocean View, and Veranda staterooms $16.00USD per person, per day for Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms $19.00USD per person, per day for guests of The Retreat. So if a Veranda or below, for simple calculation and my math is right, if the cruise only rate (taxes in) works out to be less than $98.30 ($15.50 + $82.80) per day than the AI then you would be ahead if WiFi is immaterial. You might discover (as I have) that one isn't always ahead if planning to get the drink package anyway and that Cruise Only total cost might only be enticing for people that really don't want the drink package or only want a lower cost package. Non alcohol drinkers (unlike me LOL) might save. ๐Ÿป๐Ÿน
  14. Yep I would if nothing else changed ... speakerphone listening to the 'tunes'. ๐Ÿ“ข
  15. They are for a *stateroom and though I don't see it specifically mentioned in the tiny print it has always covered two occupants when I've taken them up on an offer. What was nice on one trip was a travel partner also got a similar offer(s) listing a number of sailings and we made a back to back out of it as we each took the other on a leg of the cruise; we didn't even move cabins as they were great to work it out that way for us. Was super nice to go on a 14 night cruise even though they were ONLY the stateroom so anything beyond that ie drinks, grats, etc were not included on those. I know, never happy ๐Ÿ˜‰ Like I mentioned prior and as the OP said, this is a first for me getting anything more than a stateroom in the offer. If only l lived in LA.
  16. Oh the emails are wonderful ... the sale is ending in 2 days ... the sale ends tomorrow ... only hours left before the sale ends ... OH WE EXTENDED THE SALE. LMAO
  17. Guess that would really work out to be 60% off over all but ya gotta love the never ending rotation of promotions. The % off number game lately is a promotion that I find the most insulting as it is so obviously switching numbers, though I should thank them as it makes it the easiest one to identify that the 'new' promotion is exactly the same as a prior one if all base room cost remain unchanged. Marketing at it's finest. ๐Ÿ˜
  18. Not the OP but I got same offer with drinks and WiFi ... first time to have that in the offer. I haven't sailed since 2019 ๐Ÿ˜ž and even this offer is not enticing enough as it is just too far (for me) and expensive to fly for these itineraries. This was also for Mexican Riviera sailings on Solstice Sept all the way out to next March.
  19. Oh nice, 120% discount, they would pay us to cruise!
  20. It was email. If you didn't get it I would call and ask about it as I have had stuff on my account in the past with no email or mail out.
  21. Hahahaha ... this is what I was writing in my above post so fitting that you posted as I was typing. Ya there is a lot of smoke and mirrors though sometimes there are gems among the offers but have to be wise to them.
  22. The recent 'promotions' appear to be aligning with what they have often done for RCL sailings. I always found humor in the many ways you can say x% off and still get the same overall for two people. The game is a bit insulting but definitely good for a laugh. One of course also has to expect that for these offers the cost is risen to allow for the x% off so the final number after taxes will vary very little (if any) from the non x% off offers the month prior. ๐Ÿ™‚ Even funnier it might even wind up being more.
  23. Well it appears they are sending offers out for this now. Just got one for Solstice out of LA for dates starting the end of September for sailings all the way to next March 2023. Mexican Riviera and all 7 day (couple 8 day) sailings .. it even include drinks (classic) and WiFi which is new to me, never had that on any past offer; no mention that it includes service gratuities. I live on the East Cost so not worth the travel but man it's enticing especially given the offer extends out to further dates when testing rules and quarantining could change.
