Yes, the perks should carry over - or be modified to whatever is current. Every cabin gets the $50 shorex, even sailaway, so that should never be an issue. So sounds like a system error. There may be some additional charges if the upgrade includes additional meals, plus an increase in insurance if you took that. There was a post on another forum from someone who had a similar issue - but they didn't notice until they got onboard.

Departing Soon and no Upgrade Advantage Email

From my experience, the "notification" system is somewhat random. Maybe an e-mail, usually there's a link in the messages for the reservation in MyNCL, sometimes there's a banner. But today is 110 days out for an upcoming cruise and if I go to the plusgrade website I can put in my bid - I'd checked previously and nothing was available. -
I'd personally prefer that they come up with a list of available perks for platinum and above. Then you choose from the list - platinum gets 2 choices, sapphire gets 4 or something along those lines. I have no interest at all in the wine tasting or strawberries (allergies to both), or the mixology experience (2 cruises to Diamond) - it was great when they were giving OBC because the wine tasting wasn't offered! But I'd like to be able to substitute a couple of bottles of water for the strawberries, just as an example. Give you a door hanger (like for room service) and you can put your choices. But waiving fees for PPV or discounts on onboard activities would also be nice.

18-year-old - Beer/Wine with parental consent - Have to pay??
julig22 replied to cruise99991's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
So because there isn't a "free" package that suits the 18-20yo crowd there should be a loophole to get around it? Not everyone can drink alcohol for various reasons but there isn't a "free" soda package for adults either. I'm actually allergic to wine but NCL will not let me substitute a soda package for the FAS drink package - I'd be more than happy to pay the gratuities on the package but nope, I have to pay for the package (plus gratuities) or just pay as I go along. -
No need to wait - you can get whatever terms you want anytime. It's all the same, they just like to come up with creative ways to get you to think you are getting a better deal. Bottom line, you pay $125 each (if you buy 2 or more) and you can buy up to 8. There is never any OBC that needs to be used up, it always applies to the cost of the vouchers.

Help - Where can I buy an iPhone cable onboard
julig22 replied to Joel__r's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Is there a Roll Call for the cruise? I've seen people successfully post their needs on CC or other social media groups. -
Current doubleUp offer expires on 5/15. Will you be able to use 2 for a balcony after that - probably but you'll just have to ask when you get onboard. If you book onboard you can get an upgraded balcony (better location) - unless you have a specific reason for waiting to book.

Will NCL honor lower prices after final payment?

Well, they had planned downtime of the site over the weekend so maybe that's something they included... -
Return NCL Transfers in Seattle with NCL Air

Not available for early flights. Last I knew, cutoff was noon. -
No. Not even the entertainers know their schedule in advance. And even then it can change depending on the circumstances. If rough weather is predicted for example when acrobats are scheduled they might switch at the last minute. Best you can figure is that there will be 2 shows in the theater each night, 7 or 7:30, 9 or 9:30. Unless you have a late all-aboard, then only 1 show.
-
You can book at the prevailing rate if there are cabins available. No special discount but sometimes last minute bookings are cheaper. Quite a few people were doing this last year when ships weren't full - and they got some great deals. And if you book onboard, you do get a slight bump up (inside, OV, balcony only) so a better cabin. You can also try to negotiate CruiseNext certificates, although those purchases aren't usually processed until after a cruise. Some of the CruiseNext folks are quite creative, some are relatively clueless, so you might have to make suggestions, based on replies here, to get the best value. Good luck!

Has anyone been on the London Cruisetour?
julig22 replied to Stowaway LFC's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Looks like they have several, but only listed through 2024. Wish they'd had the one in Iceland when I went last summer. I always wondered why they didn't offer more of them, seems like a no-brainer to me. I took one in Alaska a few years ago and loved it. -

Yes, read the entire thread. The $50 credit is apparently not applicable to the tour. -

Follow the bouncing ball. If you book onboard, you pay onboard and the $50 excursion credit is applied after you take the tour. Question was whether or not the $50 is refundable OBC. If you cancel something you booked online once you get onboard, then you get a refund, less the $50, to your onboard account. -

Behind The Scenes Tour can now be booked online

Technically yes. But it just reduces the cost of what you paid for the excursion in the first place. -

If you book online, the credit is applied at the time you book. If you book onboard, the credit is applied after you take the tour. But you still get your $50 credit if you miss the bus - they don't keep track of who shows up. You paid, doesn't matter if you don't show up. -

Yea, I just looked. $89 on the Sun and Sky, $99 on the Jewel My cruise on the Sky is 137 days out but available now. -

Maybe it didn't? It charged me $89, which is less than people were posting, so I assumed that was the credit. But now I realize that it wasn't a $50 discount... Different prices for different ships? I'm on the Sun. -

Actually, I had my first dinner on my last cruise. A very knowledgeable CN manager so got some good information, plus the ability to try to plant a few improvement ideas. But it is the luck of the draw. And the wine flows freely for anybody who doesn't take the drink package! -

julig22 replied to Stowaway LFC's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I'm going with no because this is the first I've ever seen it offered. Only cruisetours I've seen were for Alaska and Hawaii. -
Well, with the BOGO offer you can book 1 way - they just charge you half if RT, might be slightly different if your starting and ending ports are different, depending on the airfare for that port. I would assume that if they are changing their airfare program, it would be $75 if only doing 1-way. But pure speculation on my part!
