  1. Fabulous list. Can't wait to read a few. A Sunburned Country - great fun.
  2. Good call! We too aften ask for a towel replacement or quick fluff. Although nice, I don't feel our bathroom needs to be scrubbed twice a day.😁 We are especially mindful on days when staff might be able to leave the ship or go on an excursion. Restocking of the fridge and coffee pods, now that's a different story.🤣
  3. Sure does feel good to let off a little steam, doesn't it? And helps to know you are not alone in your perspective. 😀
  4. @commodoredave. It's the corporate mother ship we all struggle with. The actual ship, specifically Venture and Pursuit should seal your heart. Seabourn staff are excited to work on them and it shows.
  5. But it's entertaining pseudo Elitism. A true Elitist would never post on CC. 🤣
  6. Jp as always does a wonderful job of analysis. I really like the sister ships. Great size, great itineraries, but perhaps past their expiration date.
  7. And here I thought it was my insanity that was entertaining. 😃 I will be virtually toasting you, perhaps more than once. 🥂
  8. I need one! Think it would pass the MDR dress code? Very cool, thanks.
  9. Having been in @spinnaker2shoes, I can assure you that some problems on the older ships cannot be resolved, much less in a timely manner. The top of the Silversea corporate food chain is aware of them. Engineer and staff have band aids.
  10. We are on the Cloud, returning to Antarctica followed by Cape to Cape (31 days) in a Silver Suite, deck 6. I do love the Silver Suites on the Cloud. I have enjoyed both Cloud and Wind in the past. Had a disaster on Wind last year. And as JP mentioned in another thread, they are both a bit long in the tooth. I suspect past their expiration date. Our trip is a great itinary with lots of time in South Georgia and Falklands, St. Helena etc. I know some of the expedition team. Will the Cloud give us one more decent trip without incident? I hope so. Have trips booked on Seabourn Venture and Pursuit. Will also give SS Endeavor a try if they bring those prices out of the stratosphere. Cloud and Wind no more. Thanks again for you report. P.S. Those fans, the helicopter noise, yikes. We just started unplugging them and insisting they get some there with a wet vac.
  11. 😄 I know exactly what you mean. We are on the Cloud in Feb/March 24. What was I thinking!
  12. Your TA should have been able to get the credit. There are a fair amount of newbies on the payroll who automatically say no. A good TA can press with the facts or call back and get someone with a clue.
  13. I truly feel your pain. We had similar problems on her sister ship. Take pictures, then take more pictures. Dont let them get away with it, keep pressing. They will dodge and hope you forget. So sorry that this has happened to you.
  14. Thanks for taking the time to share details. I've always been curious about those ports in the hinterland. Alaskan/Russian history is quite interesting.
  15. Looking forward to your excellent reports. Have a glass of bubbly for me!
  16. @twangster. Thank you so very much for a truly excellent report. The photos, excursion reports, and detailed explanations of transit put you in the top.
  17. Spicy kindred spirits! Sambal is my go to Asian kick. Thanks for all the tips! I like modified Gochujang - Korean catsup. 😃 Agree on the Capt. Crunch and Vinegar Oyster sauce.
  18. Here is a link to our trip last summer.. The Greenland part is near the end.
  19. We have been to Antarctica and South Georgia and are returning in February followed by Cape to Cape. We have been to East Greenland twice. Main differences: Antarctica scenery is spectacular and the critter experience is unrivaled. It is a challenge to get to. East Greenland - Scorsby is next level spectacular. Think Lemaire Channel on steroids. Skoldungen is also mind blowing, but smaller, but by no means small. It takes a day to get through. Icebergs and more icebergs. Every shape and size. Lacking in the critter department. I'd go every summer if I could fit it in. We saw three polar bears in the ice pack near the North Pole. Although I wouldn't wand to spend days up there, I really enjoyed the time we did spend.
