  1. Yes'm! Mini hijack for shiny things. Currently at a trade show. Mother nature at her finest.
  2. Great report. Look forward to hearing more. Have a fabulous journey.
  3. Scant info about tides in Alpefjord on the internet. If the chart below us correct only a 6 foot swing. The longer she sits and goes through tidal swings the more the silt will suck her in. That arm in Aplefjord is not often traveled. Lots of risks being taken by these Captains on new ships.
  4. We asked them to remove some of the hangars on our last trip.
  5. Just north of Scorsby for those that are interested. Currently three ships in Scorsby and Hurtigruten just outside Alpefjord. Sorry for the mini hijack.
  6. I read that yesterday and thought of you. Wow, 50% of the volume. Those Robinhood Gamblers are just to lazy to do any market research work. Covered calls for example. Great way to add some Alpha. Heck, just do the research on which funds use the strategy and let them do the daily work.
  7. Somebody waved their magic wand. Status matched. I'm a Grand Admiral now!😁
  8. I filled out the forms and sent a follow up email. Still haven't heard a peep. Checked the website, no status change. Suggestions anyone?
  9. The Terminal. Loosely based on a guy who lived in CDG. I think JP knows him. 😃 Lois, so pleased you have made it home. Not a fun end to a journey.
  10. Agree with @taxatty, mighty fine food porn. And the scenery isn't bad either. Thanks!
  11. One of my favorite places on the planet. Thanks for all the great photos. Keep em coming.
  12. Enjoy the last days of SS Explorer. She will be missed in the fleet. Any reports much appreciated. @5waldos I hope Covid is a distant memory when you board! @LAexNY. Please tell Matt he has reached legendary status, and enjoy the rest of your journey. 😃
  13. This is what come to mind when one says overcoat. 😁 The appropriate outerwear will be packed. Perhaps not as stylish.
  14. @5waldos Thanks for the Palau & Yap tips. Matt Boyle is the expedition member from Palau. One of the best expedition members we've ever come across. He seems to be part of Apex Expeditions. We will be lucky enough to have him on board for our Cape to Cape in February. Aside from Marine Biology he does a captivating WWII lecture series.
  15. I could float around the South Pacific for months on end. We are headed back next year Guam to Santiago, 40 days on board Seabourn Pursuit. We have been on sister Venture and loved her. We though about going to Palau pre cruise. One of the expedition leaders on our last trip lives there. Any Micronesia and Palau suggestions? Fiji - I'm still thinking about Blue Turtle Gin.
  16. Will be in Venice AND Athens in early November. Fingers crossed that the crowds have died down.
  17. On a recent trip to Australia, Cairns was our first stop. We were required to have our passports to exit the ship. I requested that someone from Silversea be there to take our passports back to the ship for safekeeping after we exited Cairns makeshift immigration. Silversea obliged.
  18. Even if I think I have a handle on the market, I know enough to know that "cloudy and confused" is more accurate. 😂 Higher oil, agree! That and high interest rates were the main triggers last time. There I go again, thinking I know something.
  19. For the most part, US$. But once we got to Australia, AUD. FYI, Most of the carvings and trinkets were in the $10-$30 range except for one village in the Solomans. I believe it was Mbili. Their carvers were next level amazing. Some pieces $200 plus. Which leg and who with? I need to travel vicariously! Have a fabulous trip and please report back.
