Looking for a hotel near Port Canaveral
wolft927 replied to Diem_042916's topic in Florida Departures
We seen mixed as well but decided to book it anyway, $298 for the ocean front junior suite. We are two couples so splitting it and the room seems large. Also reviews of the restaurant seem great -
Nope can not do that. Even if they alllowed it they other couples would be paying a massive amount at that suite price

We are avid NCL Cruisers in the Haven, but the prices have gotten a little crazy. There are deals to be had but not for us lol. We are booked on the Escape in January in the Haven, and have also booked our first MSC Cruise on the Seascape in September in the YC. We are kicking the tires with the YC inside for the simple fact it was cheaper then a Non Haven Balcony on NCL. Wife and I are not foody people, always can find something to eat. Sadly we are 44 and 41 and have already began the decent to loving the Private areas of the Haven. From what i have read and seen through reviews and videos, I have a feeling we may be swithcing over to MSC since there price points are much better. Also the DSC in Haven is $25 PP per day, MSC is still only $14.50PP per day.

I may have missed it, but did you decide to pay and dine, or did you leave?

So need some advise. Today is final payment (which we already made) and I am very torn. We currently are booked on the Norwegian Escape 2 bedroom Haven Suite out of Port Canaveral. Today I just noticed that the Epic leaving the same weekend out of Port Canaveral has had price drops in the Haven. I can book the Haven Deluxe Owners Suite with large Balcony for the same price as my Current 2 bedroom on the Escape. We are 2 couples traveling together, Wife and I are avid cruisers last 4 in the Haven. Other couple is second cruise and never stayed in the Haven. Itinerary does't matter to us, but losing the second bedroom is a little bit of a big deal possibly. So My question is would you choose the owners suite on the Epic or stick with the 2 bedroom on the Escape. thanks

So first of All Embarkation us usually a mess. Terminal is a bit small for the Breakaway and can be backed up with guests waiting to get through security while they are still finishing debark. Make sure you enjoy the sailaway going down the Mississippi River, scenic and intersting comparing to leaving out of florida.

Sailed out of new Orleans several times on the breakaway and typically we are off the ship in our car no later then 8:15am, as long as you do the self assist walk off with all your luggage.

I found a GREAT price for a Haven Suite, and here it is!
wolft927 replied to Sthrngary's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
They absolutely can. Now I book theough Casinos at sea because I work for a company that partners with NCL casino. I always get the 10% discount. I know not a lot but adds up. Now the best haven deal I have found so far latlely is on the Epic for January. We are booked on the escape 4 of us in a 2 bedroom Haven and total price was $9300. Same weekend on the Epic 2 bedroom Haven suite is $7082. We almost switched but decided to keep the Escape -
I am on the same itinerary in January. 2 Bedroom Haven suite. we are on the Starboard side...

NCL price drop after final payment policy
wolft927 replied to masspector's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
So after Final Payment, We were booked in a Balcony and watched the Haven drop heavy as well as our own balcony. We were allowed to changed our reservation from balcony to Haven and just pay the current difference at the time. Worked out great for us. -
Hotels and restaurants In New Orleans
wolft927 replied to MR_BUTCHIE's topic in Gulf Coast Departures
We stay at the Hyatt right across the street from the cruise terminal easy to walk there I. The morning of embarkation even with luggage. Walking distance to many restaurants and there is an excellent pizza place with bar right next door. Also the Fulton parking garage is also right next door where you can leave your vehicle for the cruise -
I am curiouse as well. We are scheduled to sail on the Escape in january, but before final payment we can sail the Epic in the Deluxe Owners Suite for the same price as the 2 bedroom on the Escape. And i have heard the Epic has the best Haven complex

wolft927 replied to kribar's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Don't miss out on Q....we went last april on the Joy, Live band was great and the food was very good as well and the portions are big! -
I sailed in April on the Joy and we had our teen daughter out on the sofa bed in the aft suite. Bed was put away each morning and also taken out at night.

Glad to see this pic, we are also traveling on the Escape in the 2 bedroom with another couple. We have had the 2 bedroom before but was just the wife and I. Sofa bed looks like it can accomadate 2 people

NCL - NEVER Sailed with them - GOOD and BAD?
wolft927 replied to MagentaandRiffRaff's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
We always over pack for cruises. Used to wear slacks and dress shirts every night for dinner and wife would wear a sundress or one ore two nights something more fancy. Our next i am bring 2 pairs of slacks and 2 dress shirts. rest of the nights, nice shorts and polo shirts for dinner. We live in our bathing suits during the day either on the ship or in port...Always had 2 full suit cases, a garment bag plus carry on...January our goal is one suitcase and carryon -
we had a great time on the JOy this past April! Had a Aft facing Haven suite and traveled with 3 other people that stayed outside the Haven. We loved the Shade in SpiceH20! Booked on the Escape for January also in the Haven this time a 2 bedroom suite. The couple that we went with seen the Haven and our cabin and had to book, so we decided save some money and get the 2 bedroom suite.

NCL - NEVER Sailed with them - GOOD and BAD?
wolft927 replied to MagentaandRiffRaff's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
So I have cruised Multiple times with NCL and also with RCCL. I wil say for my wife and I we enjoy NCL better especially because of the Haven!. Mostly everything between NCL and RCCL is similar with the exception of a few things: 1 The Ships! RCCL Oasis class ships have that WOW factor. Now with that being said, we cruised on the Symphony of the seas and yes it WOW the hell out of us, we would never cruise that class again. NCLS Breakaway and Breakaway+ ships are the perfect size for us 2 Entertainment. RCCL Oasis class ships i thought the entertainment was much better simply because it had amazing venues to host the shows like the Ice skating show and Aqua Show. I do like NCLs music venues better though like Sid Normans If you were to compare RCCL's Freedom Class Ships against NCL and breakaway and breakaway+ class ships I would say NCL has the advantage. -
Getaway with kids and person w disability
wolft927 replied to MTB25's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I agree, but one thing that is good is its a 10 day sailing, usually longer cruises have less kids. Also, what spring break? College or High school. We went last April on the Joy and yes there was a lot of kids but not the college age, more elementary and High school age. -
I am a first time MSC cruiser, typically Haven on NCL but with the prices these days we are giving the YC a chance with MSC. I researched the cruise we wanted the cabin we wanted and then called and spoke with a MSC agent. I have to say it went smooth as silk. I had just tier matched to MSC but wasn't showing up at the time, the agent still gave us the 5% discount for being Gold, and also the additional 5% for booking more then 9 months out. We booked an inside YC on the Seascape, we chose the inside because its our first MSC cruise and also couldn't beat the price ( $3200) for a 7 day cruise in the YC. NCL Balcony was going for $3700. If all goes well, with MSC may never go back to NCL Haven
