This isn't my first HAL cruise, but I still can't figure out that website. My confirmation doc says I have "confirmed main" dining. Does this mean traditional fixed dining? There is no time listed, so is there a second seating option? Do I need to wait until I'm on board to find out? Last time, I had fixed dining late seating and really enjoyed it. I'm not so crazy about making nightly reservations or showing up just to wait in line.

Haha. Well, for one thing, the captain's table dining takes place there, but it's only a small part of the room....

How so? Did people just show up and demand to get on the tender?

I really should know this, but I haven't taken advantage of priority tendering since becoming Elite (a bunch of years ago.) I always figured I could just get in the queue with everyone else. However, there's a tender port coming up on a future cruise and I need to be off the ship ASAP. So, educate me. How does it work? (I know it's only for ship to shore not vice versa.)

I think the brand is dependant on itinerary. You won't find Cosco water on a ship sailing out of the UK. We just did Norway and the water was just fine, IMO. I don't remember the brand, but it wasn't anything I recognized from the USA.

They can change the medallions for you on the ship or on the dock. It won't be a problem.

I think you might have a point about staffing issues, but that's a problem all over the ship. DH says the prices have gone over his "threshold," but I still think I'll visit CG for the lamb chops.

Why do people object to getting a passport in the first place? Expense? Time? Fear of an ugly photo?

This is how Princess intends to grow and become number one in the industry. I think training of staff is at an all-time low (when they find the staff to hire.)
