  1. People forget that there's a huge buffet and also the smaller International Cafe. Oh, and the grill.
  2. That was always so useful. I hope they bring it back.
  3. Isn't there some sort of "official" definition for these things? I agree that both Princess and HAL are mass market, but where is the line between them and "premium"?
  4. I had an EZAir refund for a covid cancelled cruise show up a full year after the fact. Then of course everyone was having delayed refunds then.
  5. As I understand it, Princess has accepted responsibility for allowing the minor off the ship. As several people have rightly said, we don't know the circumstances and blaming the guardian will only add to the family's pain. Blaming will not find the child.
  6. Not all grandparents are elderly. Let's say this 14 yr old has a parent who is 35, and that person's parent is 55. Completely plausible. I don't consider 55 elderly. Of course, we know nothing of this family or their situation, so passing judgement seems unnecessary.
  7. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  8. Did you restrict their access to your account? They would need to be able to use your credit card in order to book excursions. Otherwise, I would say it's just another typical Princess app glitch.
  9. Good question. I would guess the reservable/walk up, but who knows. I have such good memories of sailing on the Coral. I'm following everyone's problems here with deep sympathy. (I guess you can always revert to the beautiful buffet!)
  10. TD times have always varied among ships. I think of 7:30 as a place holder. When I get on the ship, it might shift one way or the other. The fact that some ships on the app are saying one thing and other ships something else is just typical Princess app screwiness.
  11. I think they said earlier that they chose the cabin for another reason and didn't want Reserve dining because they want to eat with their family (who do not have Reserve.) I suspect they will have to wait to board to straighten it out. That Princess algorithm is not going to let them loose from their Reserve status.
  12. Ship to ship. I guess. I know they collect invitations from guests at the door to the Captain's cocktail party, but for PES I've seen people just waltz on in (more times than not.) The last cruise I took was on the Royal, and the event was so badly attended, they should have been out in the hall recruiting newbies!
  13. It depends on the ship, but if you use your medallion to order (and pay?) for the drinks, no one will know. It's been a long time since I saw staff checking status at the door.
  14. I found Reserve class dining to have the best service I ever got on a Princess ship. People with Reserve are the only ones not currently having major issues with the new reservations system.
  15. The way Princess has been shedding ships since covid, I will not be surprised to hear the Island is on the chopping block (if it is.)
  16. The Coral has only two dining rooms, so the system will be different for that smaller ship. Last I heard, one was both reservations and walk up and the other was traditional. I have no doubt things will change a bunch of times before this whole thing settles down.
  17. I haven't been on the Nautica yet, but I have been on other R class ships. The shower is large enough to conduct normal shower activities, turning around, raising hands over head, bending over. Unless you plan on holding a party in the shower, it will work. I grew up in a 1950s house with a walk in shower, you know, turquoise tile on the walls and a glass door that sometimes latched correctly. When I was a little kid, it seemed cavernous; when I left home as an adult, it seemed just small. Anyone who remembers those walk in showers of yore will recognize the R class shower: small but gets the job done.
  18. That's usually how it works. Never the first or last night.
  19. Your daughter doesn’t talk to you for weeks at a time?
  20. Thanks for this. I will be on Nautica in the fall. An issue I have seen raised is that there are no restrooms on the Horizon deck to service that lounge. Problem?
