  1. Yet another example of someone spouting opinion a if it were fact.
  2. I love it when someone posts a factually accurate reply instead of the far too often opinions!
  3. He is talking about the tips on the FAS packages NOT the DSC which, as you say, are not tips. You are answering a question not asked.
  4. You don't NEED to do anything. You are on a cruise, enjoy yourself. 🙂
  5. The VAT is added whether you have the package or not. It has no implication on 'breaking even'.
  6. The gold tags are for debarkation and will be delivered to your cabin at the appropriate time.
  7. All depends on what you are talking about. Do you mean turning on the jets, if so that is easy to do. There is a button on the hot tub. Do you mean actual bubbles forming on the top of the water. That is never a good thing, it is a sign that the water is dirty in a on-sanitary way.My friend and I used to sell hot tubs and many times people would come in and ask why there are so many bubbles in the tub. The answer is that they were not cleaning the tub often enough.
  8. Yes NCL knows, simply call them and ask.
  9. Jeans, t-shirt, and tennis shoes are acceptable in any dining facility. There are no formal nights per se'. There may be onw or two 'dress up or not' nights.
  10. If the ship docks on time If debarkation starts on time Depending on the time the ship is due to arrive at the port Like I said there is no set time for embarkation to start, especially not "general" embarkation which after all of the groups (however many happen to be in group) such as Haven Guests, ADA guests, CAS guests, and general VIPs to name a few.
  11. You will not know until you are checked in and they assign you a boarding group.
  12. Boarding starts once the ship is cleared from the previous sailing. There is no set time for boarding to start.
  13. Do the suites on the Joy get any of the following perks? Butler/Conceriege VIP Breakfast/ Lunch VIP/Priority Debarkation Thank You
  14. So the salary of anyone who works anywhere you choose to spend your money is your business? The answer is no and your premise is invalid.
  15. NCL has never had me believe that the DSC is 'treated like gratuities". Then again I do not make assumptions based on other peoples' opinions and conjectures,
  16. When you get on the ship go to the internet cafe and ask the internet manager any questions you have. He will be happy to assist you.
  17. Whether it is "worth it" to anyone else is not relevant. You have to read what all is included and determine if it is "worth it" to YOU.
  18. You did not pre-pay or get charged daily GRATUITIES, you pre-pay or get charged daily the DAILY Service Charge. The only GRATUITIES that you pay are the 20% on dining and drink packages, etc. You are absolutely free to tip anyone on the ship, any amount you want, at any time you want. While NCL specifically states that the service charge supports salary and incentive programs, that does not at all mean it is additive to the base salary as a tip would be. It SUPPORTS salaries meaning it is used to pay the salaries, it does not say it replaces tipping. Unless a person has access to the supporting details of the payroll system for NCL, no one here knows for a fact how the DSC is utilized or distributed. Anyone who says that they do is merely stating opinion and/or tin foil hate conspiracy theories. The bottom line is that it is none of the passengers' business how the NCL employees are compensated. Further it is quite rude and tacky to inquire of someone how much they make and where it comes from. How much the NCL employees are compensated for the work they do is between them and NCL. As long as they agree to whatever their contract grants them then let them work as they please.
  19. You can request whatever you want, it just will not be granted! 🙂 🙂 🙂
  20. Very many upgrades awarded in the last 24 hours for cruises to Bermuda sailing next weekend.
  21. You get ONE bite at the price drop apple per cruise. It has been that way since I starting cruising in 2011.
  22. Well I got to combine with a CAS comp so I made out big time!
