I'm sure this is the reaction the OP was looking for. I think you fell into their trap. 😐

That is true throughout Indy, suites included. I still love that ship though. I will be on her last sailing out of PC. Sad to see her go, but excited to have Allure, and then Utopia.
-
I have been on sailings many times that cross March 31/April 1. Whatever status you boarded with, is the status you will have for the entire cruise.
-
Ack!! I have to have it pitch black, and still rely on my memory to get through the cabin. (I am sure I will pay for that one day) The ships that have the night light that does not go off, gets a towel on the floor in front of the opening.

Dress code in the dining room
Mikew0805 replied to Qwltngcruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
What you are describing to wear will be fine, and you will fit in just fine. Don't stress too much about it, and just have a great time. Almost 100 cruises, and I find that picture absolutely representative of every Royal Caribbean cruise I have ever been on. It is typical on RCI. 🤷♂️ The lowest standard possible would be nude. Just sayin... -
Cococay Waterpark: How crowded when you visited?
Mikew0805 replied to Host Jacquelyn's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have been there with Indy & Harmony, and the waits for slides were at the most 10 minutes. Most of the other slides were walk up. All day long. -
I tip for each meal.

Hideaway Beach at Perfect Day
Mikew0805 replied to Newcruiser215's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Agree. I sit opposite side of pool, (Actually just in front of the helium ballon) and while I can hear the DJ and the music, it does not even come close to interfering with conversations or even a cat nap for a light sleeper like me. I barley use two of mine a day. It's pathetic. -
I have spent so much time in GS line on every single cruise (because of the way I add money from the casino) and I have never once heard anyone removing gratuities. I am not saying it does not happen, but at the rate everyone says on this board, I would have thought I would have heard it at least once by now.
-
I also believe that Royal Caribbean is distributing the gratuities to the staff as they have described. I generally do not get caught up in "conspiracy theories."

Serenade of the Seas Seapass Cards Day 1
Mikew0805 replied to Aburkhard7's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I sail out of Tampa as often as I can, as it is so close to home. Since you are in the area, just know if you choose a late boarding time, (I always choose 2pm) you literally walk in, through the terminal, through check in, onto the ship, and to your cabin in less than 10 minutes. That may not interest you, but thought I would mention it. -
The Serenade tables are quite cramped. 😞 Actually moving around in that casino is quite difficult. The last three times I have been on it, I have left because it is so crowded. (Not something I normally do, but saved me money) I still like the machines, and the host... just know that during peak times it is a bit crazy in there. Have fun!

What is Yummy in the Main Dining Room?
Mikew0805 replied to Diane67B's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I'll be honest.. the savory bites were why I went to the dining room on every cruise. After the restart they were not around but if you asked for them they would have them for you each day after you asked. Now, with the new menu since January, they will not make them for you. UGH. -
It is not on Independence.

Which cruise and why? Help me decide
Mikew0805 replied to colesc15's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Actually, I think I would have a hard time with this decision as well. JS vs. inside.. really does not matter to me, I do not use the balcony anyway, and I have been on nothing but comped JS's for a few years. 1. Grease vs. Aqua 80... Aqua 80 for me. (I will see every showing of this.) 2. Freeze Frame vs. Frozen in Time... Frozen in time for me. 3. Playmakers on Indy is great, so so on Oasis, but Portside BBQ on Oasis is great, and it is the only ship to get it on. 4. Oasis has a Lime & Coconut, and Indy does not. (this is ridiculous since I have like 2 total a cruise.. but I really like them.) Well I guess it would not be hard for me, I would pick Oasis. -

What is Yummy in the Main Dining Room?
Mikew0805 replied to Diane67B's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Not much. I like the tagliatelle (when it is made right, prep varies by ship) roasted poblano pepper soup, and the tres leches cake. That is really all I like anymore in the MDR. -
Me too.. I don't know how "young" I am, but I would no longer accept a position that is not remote. I work far more than anyone would get out of me in a hospital or office. WFH does not equal less of a work ethic... except to those who would generalize. Right... conditions are not just about pay. You are definitely not wrong about that.
