Remember that old fart with the 32 yr old ( I gotta stop thinking about them already )--- The AI that it cost him was more than the $9.95 " Room Service " charge that some of our CC friends are complaining about. I'll bet she still has the pre-loved Rolex and all he's left with are memories and a phone number--- that's been disconnected.

  3. LOL--- 19 pages and still going strong-- ( I know, I know--- so don't read it if---- blah, blah , blah) WHY ? All over a lousy $ 9.95 charge to deliver $ 200 worth of food to your cabin, oops, suite!! $ 200 ?? Of course, because the " cheapskates " that will " buckle " and spend the $9.95 will make sure to get their $$$$$ worth.
  4. We've been in both-- Our thoughts, although everyone is different. Concierge---- Not worth $0.02 extra Blu --- The difference in price from a Verandah to Blu is quite significant. Perhaps try it IF they offer a reduced price. Also, it depends on how much $$$ you want to spend, your dining/food preferences ( Aqua has a private dining room for their Guests ), whether you would use the Spa ( don't get " sucked in" to the Free 5 minute message they offer all over the ship--- it will cost you $347 by the time they let you out ), etc. In our case , I said " No way I'm spending $$$ for Aqua Class "---- many times !! "You Know Who" said --- only once---- " We're staying in Aqua Class " !! That was an easy decision ( LOL ).
  5. 87-91 is my game--- Unless on a cruise ship---- 78-81-- when the other guy tells me his game is 79-82. "BTW...isn't that Sloth Tour something else?"---- Total waste of $$ and time -- Our Tour Guide ( almost in tears ) told us we were the nicest tour he ever had --- got the bus to stop at a stand to buy spices and souvenirs ( funny that the lady selling the " stuff " handed him an envelope as we were getting back on the bus--- probably a letter to mail ?), even showed us pictures of his kids ( mind you, the guy looked too young to have 6 kids ), and for the " safety " ( what " safety ?? ") of everyone getting off the bus at the end of the tour, er, to make sure everyone tipped him, he had the back door locked !! Rumor has it that he now works as a Spa Attendant selling Free 5 minute massages for $347 !!!
  6. I shoot 59 on every round— sometimes by the 11 th hole, sometimes by the etc etc — “ tour “— the last tour I was on was in Limon — 10 hrs looking at bananas and the rare sloth + 1.5 hrs of our tour guide “ buttering “ us up for a tip!!!
  7. We are never in a suite---Don't feel like a peasant-- always received excellent service-- noooo problem. I am our own Butler , and make our reservations and don't need " you know who's" bath drawn. Much easier---don't have to wait for replies, time changes, etc. I've explained the " system " ( $$ ) many times--- it works--- it's not a bribe---- it's " Thanks for your help "--- end of story.
  8. LOL- So YOU are the guy with the beautiful 32 year old that I referred to ( jealous of ) sooo many times on CC ? Hope the pre-loved Rolex you bought her was worth it ?? BTW - I also wore shorts most of last week — indoors!! Too friggin cold, too much snow up here.

  10. That was me ( Pinboy )--- LOL--- Do you think anyone will remember " Linquee " when they see it on the menu ? Probably not---when they taste it---- now, they'll remember. My motto--- If I can't pronounce it---forget it. Maybe that's why some people ( me ) don't care who the Captain is on a cruise in 2025 ( as asked on CC so many times ). Lastly, about the food choices on Celebrity ships---- In all our cruises, we never went hungry , and never lost weight (LOL).

The name Tilapia has no "appeal"--- Put a French name to it , make up a " fancy " sounding name for a sauce , and charge a high price,---that will create high demand, no wastage , excellent profit margin. LOL-- It's like golf clubs---- every year they come out with a new "gimmick" to improve my ( our )game---they name the clubs with letters and numbers that " sound " good, guarantee to etc, etc ----- It don't work !! All it does is make me ( us ) feel better having new clubs and increase the profits of the club manufacturers. ( I don't even play my age anymore ) !
  12. Correct--- However, based on a recent thread " Do you tip for room service ? ", too many folks refuse to tip for room service delivery. They " claim " that it's included in the AI package. ( total BS ) They know damn well that it's not and use it as an excuse to " stiff " the person who delivers their order. The same people are in line to remove Gratuities at the end of the cruise---- so they don't have to face the staff member(s) they " stiffed " during the cruise.
  13. It doesn't matter what Celebrity calls it-- Many folks don't like it because in the past room service was free. Things change-- As I mentioned in a previous post, the deli " Special " was increased by $2-- So, either Pinboy pays the extra $ 2 or complains to Benny about it---( poor decision--- really dumb ). Then either receives a smaller sandwich, less fries, no pickle and a 1/2 glass of diet coke , or even worse--- has to listen to Benny mumbling about the costs of food, rent, taxes, wages, and what his wife's hairdresser , the sob, charges. The $9.95 charge wouldn't bother me or stop me from ordering room service. Now, the Free 5 minute massage that ended up at $347 ---- Nope, can't talk about it any more !!!
  14. LOL--- What , Who, ---ME " whine " ?? Pinboy didn't " whine " --- Holy cow, I waited a few days before bringing it to the " attention " -------of a Jr Trainee at GR ---at 4 am---- incase I got stuck behind 6 people in line removing their gratuities. And besides, the $ 3000 " goodwill gesture " was only a " suggestion ", oops, request--- If I wasn't so greedy, I'm sure they would have offered an extra 5% off a $ 400 photo package--- not including a photo with the Captain, or , in keeping with the title of this thread, 2 complimentary Room Service deliveries.
  15. That reminds me re : " a pat answer". Dear Pinboy: Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention regarding the inconvenience you experienced at dinner 4 nights ago . As you know, we at Celebrity do everything possible for the enjoyment of our Guests and do apologize that your Waiter forgot to bring your 3 shrimp cocktails at the same time. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a $3000 refund or Future Cruise Credit as a "good will " gesture as requested. However , kindly enjoy our " Exclusive to Celebrity " chocolate covered strawberries and bottle of wine. Yours truly, XYZ Jr Trainee Guest Relations
  16. LOL--- Is gambling permitted on CC ??? If so, 200/1 they will not try a Specialty restaurant even if there is OBC to be spent. No disrespect---- It's the "it is rare if we ever spend more than $35 for the two of us" , that clinches it. (I should have added this on the bottom of post #15).
  17. Have you been following the Room Service delivery charge ($9.95 +18% ) thread? Celebrity apparently added the service charge after many folks had already booked the cruise, which upsets them. Do you think for one minute it would have changed anyones decision about booking the cruise if they knew about it prior to booking? If we want room service , I’ll gladly pay the $9.95 +18% whether I knew about it before booking or they “ surprised “ me with it .
  18. LOL--- Obviously, you don't know Benny. Let's just say it's a "no brainer"--- I'd mumble about it, then pay the extra $2 ---- otherwise -- " No extra slice of pickle for Pinboy-- and, make HIS sandwich smaller --- the SOB ". Benny wouldn't last too long as a Maitre'D in Murano.
  19. Agree--100% However, You got me all wrong--- I do like reading about gripes and complaints---they don't even have to be " legitimate ", but, are " fun " to read. However, the same old , same old on this subject ?? All I'm saying is ,Company policies change. Whether it's a Cruise Company or your local Deli --- they eliminate perks, change " Specials ", increase prices, etc , so, it's up to the Consumer to pay or don't go/buy. Example--- Our local Deli increased the price of their hot smoked meat sandwich/fries/dill pickle/diet coke "Special " by $ 2.00. LOL--- forget that one---it's not a good example-- because nobody complained.
  20. OH BOY--- 14 pages--going for the " record "--- all over $9.95 for ordering as much as you want, when you want it, having it delivered on time--- Forget it. You are spending so much money for the cruise, so, what's an extra few $. Ok, so Celebrity is " beating " me for something that used to be free--- Big Deal.
  21. Try this : ( I hope it works ). Activate your booking on line--- go to Cruise Planner---- scroll down to Dining or Specialty Dining-- Click on it and choose " Anytime Dining or Main Dining "--- I believe you can make a reservation there for each day of the cruise, so select the 8:30 option and confirm the time. If that doesn't work, perhaps you can call Celebrity and ask the Agent to book it for you. If THAT doesn't work wait until you board the ship -- Or, keep reading this thread and wait for someone who knows more than me.
  22. "The Retreat has been totally booked for months" That's how the " system " works. They do it purposely. We all know it's done at up-scale restaurants on land also.

For the 10th time ( maybe more ) this has been brought up-- Here's what to do: Go straight to the Specialty restaurant of your choice-- don't stop , don't ask the person vacuuming the floors how many contract they've been on , don't ask an Officer what the strips on his/her jacket mean, don't , etc, etc ( lots of don'ts)--- When you get there , speak to the Manager (Maitre'd), and request the day and time--- When he/she/ tells you " Sorry , these times are all reserved, but we can take you at " whenever ", --- Here's what to say : Tell him/her " Theses times are not suitable. Here's my room number . Please call me if there is a cancellation ( smile indicating $$ )". You are bound to get a message on your phone --- " This is X from Specialty restaurant XX. We are pleased to inform you that there was a cancellation on XXX and we look forward to seeing you at that time ". When you get there you will be greeted by " Guess who " --- Now, show him/her your appreciation ( $$ ) for contacting you. He/she will thank you and tell you " any time I can help you, just let me know " Everybody is happy--- That's how the " system " works.
  24. Bye the way, did CCers have to wear a name tag with their " real " name at the Meet and Greet ? My guess--- No or they didn't put their " real " name on the tag , just in case " someone " didn't agree with their posts. Arguments could ensue--- leading to name calling---etc, all over the fact that " someone " could care less who the Captain is on their cruise in 2024 or, what they should do with the $17 OBC that " needs" (?? ) to be spent.
