  1. Agree, but Watch Out--- I inferred the same thing re Specialty Restaurant reservations and was " tossed to the mat " by several on CC for bribing. Example: You go to the Specialty restaurant-- Maitre'd says " Sorry, nothing available ---- But, give me your cabin number and I'll call you if something comes available "-- You smile and give him/her your cabin number---- Trust me, he/she got the message---- 2 hrs later, ring, ring, -- Guess who? So, when you arrive at the restaurant you thank him/her ( $$ ) and everybody is happy. Want another reservation ? Nooooo problem. Where I come from it's called " Thanks for your help " !! LOL--- A few extra $$ ?? So What !!
  2. Off topic--- ( Remove if necessary ) Reminds me of: Those that choose to not follow the Dress Code for whatever "lame-duck", self-entitled reason. Lounge hogs Unruly slobs in the " Slugfest on 14 " (OVC) Nonsense complaints ( seems to be many "reported" on CC lately ) probably followed by a visit to GR to remove Gratuities. However, to finish on a complimentary note--- someone was excited to post a comment that they even petted the Captain's cat.
  3. https://www.celebritycruises.com/blog/cruise-butler No dis-respect to anyone that cruises in Suites, but, based on the attached flyer, there is nothing I would require the services of a Butler for: Unpack suitcases: " Did you see where he/she put my Patrick Mahomes t shirt "? " How do I know where he/she/ put your 17 swimsuits "? Make reservations for you: " Oh, so Monday at 6 is booked---try Tuesday at 6:15--- 2 hrs later--oh,Tuesday at 6:15 is sold out "- etc---much easier to make reservations myself. Pamper you: How long ya gonna wait for the Retreat Butler and/or Team Member to come to draw your bath ? And besides --- " It's not my fault that he/she made your bath too hot " . " You asked him/her to draw your bath at 9:45 --- How was he to know you decided to try your luck ( for the 18th time ) at your " favorite " slot machine--- because this time you had a " feeling " etc. etc. and your bath is too cold "? Finally, I think these people ( Butlers and Team ) are going to be " run off their feet " doing their best to please everyone. All it seems to me is a cost-cutting shortcut with " flashy " terms -- Bonne Chance ( Good Luck )
  4. ( I always enjoy reading your posts ) I see there are different "experiences" re the RTG. However--- We were on the Edge last March and had dinner at the RTG--- it was excellent ( Food, Service ) and were scheduled to go again on the last night of our cruise, but, the wind and rain made it impossible. Perhaps in the 22 days, you might give them another try.
  5. Both very similar--- Excellent!! Highly recommend. A "must have" is the warm chocolate chip cookie dessert topped with vanilla ice cream--- The 2nd one is as good as the first. Sure better than a scoop of gelato (LOL)
  6. "Lol do you seriously think " Who me ?? I didn't "get" your humor -- as you say " I don't know you ". LOL---Didn't you read the -- " With due respect " part --- That's supposed to cover all " bases " so nobody calls me names or tells me to " lighten up a bit ". Hey, it's all good.
  7. If you are already on another trip, just forget this offer--- With due respect, why do people on CC continuously ask folks they do not know what they should do ? This is an example as well as : What should I do with OBC I haven't spent ? What should I do about tips or gifts to our Cabin Steward/Waiter/Butler/Bar Tender etc ? What would you do if, etc ? LOL--- All the different answers could make things more confusing--- don't you think ??
  8. Now that is so nice to read---so much better than some of the " nonsense " complaints that people start a Thread on. I don't want to mention any for fear of " working myself up " and posting in language that would be deleted. I could just see " you know who's " face ------- " Ya think I should start a Thread on CC about the time our Waiter forgot to bring my 3 shrimp cocktails at the same time "?
  9. Not sure you will receive a reply-- They would need 17 Jr Staff to respond to all your complaints or perhaps 1 Sr Staff to with " Was anything ok " ??

Our choices: 1--Murano-- Excellent food, beautifully presented---French service ( some dishes prepared at table side and served with a spoon and fork ), relaxing dining. 2--Tuscan Grille--- Food very good, excellent service -- great view ( if seated at a rear window overlooking the wake)-- 3--Le Petit Chef -- I think there are lots of people that do like it. Never tried it-- seems like a " gimmick " ( a video on your plate showing the food to be served )--- No patience --I go to eat, not watch a video ( LOL)
  11. We've been on the Silhouette a few times--- Food, Service , Specialty restaurants , all excellent-- Entertainment ?? Cruise ship style--- usually a Broadway style ( ?? ) show with lots of acrobats and flashing lights, a comedian , someone playing a violin (for 45 minutes), a singer/group, etc. Now----LOL--- for a little " Fun ": Don't worry about the location of your Muster Station for the next 2 years--- you will find it--- ( it's 3 floors up, turn left, walk down the hall-- then ask someone ). More " Important " (?) things to think about which I'm sure you have read previously on CC : --Who's the Captain, the Cruise Director , the Executive Chef , and whether your favorite Bar Tender from a cruise 13 yrs ago is still on ? -- What should you do with any unspent OBC ? -- Would Staff prefer $$ tips or souvenirs/trinkets/ stuffed animals for their children from home ? -- My printer broke and I can't print our luggage tags --- will they still allow us on the ship ? -- Lastly---- Do they now have any round tomatoes at the buffet ? LOL--- Maybe I should take a rest from CC for a while ???
  12. So, Why didn't you request to change your table---- even before your 3rd shrimp cocktail on day1? If anyone at the table asks you " Why ya changed tables "---- All ya gotta answer " Allergies " . ( See post #102 for example )
  13. We now request a table for 2 in the MDR and only have to listen to one Complainer ( but usually none). Years ago we sat with another couple—( a one night stand) because within 2 minutes he “ ticked “ me off and I was almost(??) ready to punch him in the nose — but , but, ya shoulda seen the size of his muscles — and besides, I’m not a good swimmer.
  14. " relationship " ----LOL--You sound like us. By the 2nd night in the MDR our Server(s) knew our tastes ( sometimes with a little '' hint " ). Also, at the Elite breakfast ( #2 of the day ) we always " attract " (?? ) the same Server. I don't know why, but the Servers we always had made us feel " special " and I'm sure others feel the same way. Got me thinking ---- How could you not leave a few $$ for the exceptional service when they make us all feel "special " ??

Sort of " Off Topic " -- but for those that are not familiar with the IV ( Infinite Verandah ) From our experience---the " extra space " only made the cabin about 3 ft longer and really not a big difference to the "feel" of the room, plus, the window only came 1/2 way down. We much prefer the S Class ships with a " real " balcony on the " Hump " ( center of the ship ). However, while there are many opinions, it does appear that the younger generation like the IVs. Then there are those that like upside-down pineapple cake ( LOL).
  16. We never had a problem even though we leave a Celebrity beach bag on our chairs in the Solarium. Usually we have something from the Spa Cafe, but, if we are leaving the area we give up the lounges. The only theft we heard about was when we were walking through the Silent Disco area a man was looking for his camera that he left on a table nearby that apparently someone wanted.
  17. My suggestion is from our experiences at Port Everglades and Miami— Arrive by 11:30 am , never had to wait in a line , gave my Stateroom number, tipped a few $$ —never had a problem.
  18. That's the best option---- Everything will get tagged correctly as long as you " tag " their palm with a few $$.
  19. Understood--- However, I forgot to mention the Salesperson said that they were " certified " by Rolex. I'm sure you are correct---- " Buyer Be Ware "

LOL--- I made the same mistake (??) on, I forget which ship , and referred to a Rolex on display as " used " ---- and was corrected immediately to use the term " pre-loved " --- sounds more expensive. ( No, I didn't buy one--- But, an " old fart " with a beautiful 32 yr old did--- Ya shoulda seen the kiss she gave him--- The best bet , rather than splitting Kings , because you feel " lucky ", would be " Does she still have the watch, and does he still have her "?
  21. That’s funny— Love it !! How about: -An old fart pulling out her iPhone 4 with 1593 photos of her grandchildren? - someone that had too much to drink and kept telling you about the time when , etc etc.—even when you said “ Your soup is getting cold “ .
  22. We were in Blu twice-- Would not select it as a Specialty restaurant. Prefer Murano or Lawn Club Grill if available on board. Food/Meals in Aqua: Breakfast --- Great, but we now have breakfast in the MDR and request a table for 2 , followed by a visit to the Elite breakfast in the Tuscan Grill ( or wherever ). Avoid the OVC ( Slugfest on 14 ) circus. Dinner---- much toooo " healthy " -- unless it has changed ? If I can't pronounce it, I won't order it. Ambiance: Very nice venue, excellent service , dine at anytime. LOL-----Tables for 2 are much too close to each other--- So, one night I thought the beautiful 32 yr old at a table next to ours was asking me when she said , etc, etc----- know what I mean ?? Access to the Persian Gardens was very enjoyable , but "Watch out" for the 5 minute Free Massage they offer every time you walk by---It's not Free by the time they are "finished " with you.

Guest Services Reception Counter is only good for: 1--Changing $$ bills into lower denominations-- " Can you please change this $100 bill into 6 $20's "? Answer : NO problem, would you like it all in $10's " 2--" I would like to file a complaint "-- Procedure: Write14 pages , tell passenger it will be forwarded to HO for review , at the end of the cruise , " forwarded " into trash can. 3-- " I would like to speak to the Hotel Manager " ? -- Procedure: " Can I tell him/her what it's about " ?--- 14 minutes later " Sorry, Mr/Ms etc is in a meeting". 4-- " There's no pen in our Stateroom "-- Answer: " We only supply pens in Suites--- I can lend you mine ". 5-- " Why are all the GR Staff laughing "-- Answer: "You should hear some of the BS why Passengers remove the Gratuities, or the compensation Passengers ask for because there were NO friggin , etc ,etc in the buffet".
