  1. If you are a solo traveler, the Edge Single Stateroom with Infinite Veranda is sometimes cheaper than an Inside or an Oceanview cabin. It certainly was when I booked my NYE `23 cruise on Apex.
  2. Do anyone know if the Future Cruise Vacation department will allow you to book Cruise Only fares and what perks are available if you do so. I assume $100 deposit per person and OBC based on the chart.
  3. I would definitely book a Cruise Only fare. I'm only a classic CC member so I don't have many free perks; no free cocktails or WiFi minutes. As a solo traveler the different comes out to a little over $100 a day. I was thinking of booking an Alaskan cruise for 2023 when I'm aboard Apex for the 2023 NYE cruise. I can live without WiFi in Alaska (I assume 5G or free WiFi is available in port) and I don't drink that much alcohol. The only thing I drink at home is iced tea or juice which I can get for free on ship. Even deducting the $15.50/day prepaid tip I don't think I would average $85/day in cocktails so for me it makes sense.
  4. My solution is I bring a 7 year old iPad with me to use. It has TouchID and a long pass code so it's no use to anyone else. If someone were to steal it I would be annoyed but it wouldn't ruin my day. I'm taking the same approach for my phone when I go to the beach, I have an old iPhone that mostly collects dust at home but is still fully functional so I can take pictures with it and listen to my podcasts. I don't leave it unattended out in the open but I put it in my backpack when I go swimming. If it gets stolen, once again it's an annoyance but it's not going to stop me from having a good time.
  5. I was on the Summit in April and I'm lactose-intolerant. There was no lactose free ice cream available but they did offer non-dairy fruit sorbets. You can bring Lactaid Lactase Enzyme Supplement Caplets from home then enjoy any favor ice cream you want. Bon Appétit
  6. I just got off the Summit in Miami on April 25. I did self-assisted disembarkation. We gathered in the Rendezvous Lounge Deck 4, Aft and people started queuing up prior to 7:30am disembarkation time. They let us off a few minutes early. Once inside Terminal G we stood in front of an iPad like device which took a picture of your face and once the facial recognition identified you, you were free to walk off. It took less than 10 minutes from the time they let us off the ship until I was outside arranging a transfer to Miami International Airport. ($10 cash per person using a shared 14 passenger van, no reservations necessary)
