Is Celebrity getting a lot more expensive?
dreamer321 replied to slanik's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I ended up booking an inside cabin on HAL in May to Alaska. Much cheaper than the Edge (or Solstice or Millennium) with a much better itinerary. I'm sailing on Beyond in January (booked it when they had the no solo supplement promo last summer) so it will be a good opportunity to compare the two lines. -
I've been tracking specialty restaurant hours and MDR menu rotation since the end of July. That was the only cruise that Le Grand Bistro was not open on embarkation day.

Persian Gardens or whatever it is on Beyond

A 7 Day Thermal Suite pass currently costs $219 on Beyond. You can book it pre-cruise in your Cruise Planner. If you wait until you are onboard the ship the price may be different. X did offer it several months ago on sale for $119. -

Did you save the Daily Planners? If so, could you post them when you have a chance. Thanks -

I believe her name is "Cheaza." -
You can add the each item à la carte for much more than All Included would have cost you. You may be able the reprice your current booking at todays fare prices and promotions if it's before the final payment date. Essentially, you are canceling and rebooking. The best way to deal with it to have your travel agent deal with it if you used one; otherwise, call a Celebrity personal Cruise Consultant and ask them the price to upgrade. It will probably be more expensive than if you had done it originally.

They didn't offer a destination promo in November. They did Alaska in October. The November Power Up Points (PUPs) promo was to book new Flights by Celebrity for 50 PUPs.

Is Celebrity getting a lot more expensive?

Yes they did and I took advantage of that to book a cruise on Beyond in January but that promo is long gone and we don't know if it will be back. If X offers it again I will jump on it but if I were booking today for a cruise to Alaska or Europe this summer there would be better value out there than X. -
I took advantage of the $25 deposit to book a 7 night cruise to Alaska on Koningsdam at the end of May. First time on HAL, previously on Celebrity. The price was about the same but I liked HAL's itinerary better than Celebrity for Alaska and wanted to try a different line. Not sure I'll actually make the final payment but I can only lose $25 if I change my mind or something better comes up between now and final payment date. I also had to call to get the $25 deposit. Trying to book on the website kept screwing up the deposit and the final amount due.

For solo sailors I've found Silver Sea to be cheaper than X because they have several itineraries available with only 25% singles supplement. I was pricing out an Alaska cruise and a basic veranda cabin with All included on X was more than a veranda cabin on Silver Sea. -
I'm assuming you are asking about embarkation lunch. Either Le Grand Bistro or Raw on 5 it is open for lunch and would be good choices.

I just tried it for my January 22, 2023 cruise and it told me to check back when I was within 21 days of the cruise.

Eden and Le Voyage aren't available because of nasty people like me who pre-book two nights in each pre-cruise. I may or may not cancel one night in each depending on the menus in the main dining rooms. P. S. I'm staying in a lowly inside cabin but I planned ahead. P.P.S. I'm not on this cruise so you can't blame me directly but I'm booked on Beyond's January 23 cruise which is now showing Eden completely sold out and very little available in Le Voyage.

Observations From The Poop Deck : BEYOND NOV 20-27 2022
dreamer321 replied to morpheusofthesea's topic in Celebrity Cruises
morpheusofthesea, you are a champion for posting all the great videos, pictures and the daily planners. Thank you for taking the time to post all this information. I really appreciate it. -
I did that route on the Summit last April and I would not describe it as a party cruise. I didn’t see any rowdy behavior. Everyone acted responsibly.

Just be aware the order of the menus may change from what is showing now to what will be offered for your cruise.

If Elite or higher would you book cruise only?
dreamer321 replied to gordylad's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I wish I could find one of these mythical travel agents that give you All Included group rate for the price of Cruise Only but I've struck out with the several that I've contacted. Given Cruise Critic's policy regarding mentioning TA's I've given up hope and just book direct with X. I'd rather have my fate in my own hands if I have to change something.- 105 replies

Black Friday Sale - Nov 11 thru Dec 1
dreamer321 replied to NorthStarStateCruiser's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I've looked at several itineraries that interest me and none of them are worthy of being called a "Black Friday Sale" The two cruises I currently have booked in the next year would cost $400 to $1800 more to book them now. None of cruises I might be interested in seem like much of a bargain. I think I'll wait for better rates down the road. -
What Restaurants are Open on Embarkation Day
dreamer321 replied to mcrcruiser's topic in Celebrity Cruises
You didn't say what ship you were going on. On Edge class ships Le Grand Bistro is also open for lunch (for a service charge) on embarkation day. Raw on 5 is only open for lunch on sea days. -
You can download the Celebrity app then select the current itinerary of the ship you are thinking about. Select The Dining button then select the Bars tab. It will list all the bars on your ship along will bar menus and prices.

They start at $9 and go up from there.

I got three Captain's Club points. I had in my notes that that I was suppose to get 60 Power up Points (6 CC points) Not sure where I got that notion from. Maybe that was the number per couple, I'm solo. Oh well 2960 points to go until I reach zenith. I can almost taste it.

Heads Up: the Beyond no longer offers fixed early or late dining
dreamer321 replied to kwokpot's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Menu for Cosmopolitan you can download. It show the standard 14 night menu. The are a few minor differences to what is now being served onboard. You can also look in the Celebrity App. The correct menus should be updated tomorrow for the 11/13/22. If your cruise is further down the line you can get a rough idea of what will be served on what night but the change up the order sometimes. Just enough to screw up your plans for dining in specialty restaurants when the MDRs don't strike your fancy. Ignore the "Exclusive" items, these are for either Edge or Apex. Look in the App for Beyonds "Exclusive" sections. Shows are at 7pm and 9pm. The shows for the 11/13/22 cruise are now updated in the Daily Planner on the App. (Subject to any last minute changed Celebrity wants to make)
