  1. In the Celebrity app go to Beyond's Jan 3-8 sailing and look in Dining for any of the main dining rooms. Clearly an IT mistake but funny with all the rumors flying around.
  2. If you think there are cutback coming in Oceanview Café, check out the main dining room menus for Beyond's Jan 3rd - 8th cruise. No entree's or appetizers.
  3. I booked a solo trip to Alaska on HAL because I liked the itinerary much better and they had a deal (now expired) for Cyber Monday I couldn't pass up. Quite frankly, I don't think there's enough of a difference in the way that the lines treat solo passengers to make that the deciding factor. I say if you prefer the itinerary that RC offers, go for it!
  4. I've booked and canceled reservation for specialty restaurants many times prior to my current upcoming cruise. The only downside is if you paid via credit card it takes a few weeks for the credit from the cancelation to appear back on your credit card. If you prebook using OBC I think the refund is instantaneous.
  5. I would expect all the drink prices to go up a few dollars from what is currently listed in the next few days to coincide with the classic and premium beverage package limits rising as well.
  6. You can download the Celebrity app from the App Store or Google Play store (iPhone or Android phone). Select the ship and cruise you are interested in. It should list your upcoming cruises, if not select "Browse our Ships" and select the ship and cruise you want to check out. Then tap the Dining button on the bottom tab bar.
  7. What she said! I've been tracking the menu rotation on Beyond since the end of July in order to plan which nights I want to go to specialty restaurants. The rotation shown on future dates usually just mirrors the current cruise even if it's a different number of days or ports of call. I've found that the app is usually correct once on board the ship.
  8. It's a little off topic but I something similar at the poker table. I noticed on Beyond they are now listing the Texas `Em cash game as a $5/$10 No Limit game. That game plays really huge, you would probably need to buy in $500 minimum and be prepared to reload if you wanted to play that. I play in several of the largest poker rooms in Los Angeles and Las Vegas and there will be dozens of $1/$2 or $2/$5 tables but only a few $5/$10 or higher tables. The blinds may have been raised because this cruise is over the New Years break but it seems they are just trying to stick it to the captive audience. I played craps on the Summit back in April and I think the minimum bet on the pass or come line was $5. I had a couple hundred non-refundable OBC I was trying to play through and managed to convert most of it.
  9. The gratuities for a Concierge stateroom should be $18 per person per day $18 x 2 x 7 = $252. They must be trying to reprice the stateroom as if you were booking it today. That's absurd. Just wait until you get on the ship. (Suite gratuities would be $21 pppd)
  10. Don't forget there are one or two hot tubs in the Solarium on Edge class ships that are handicap accessible.
  11. I'm not sure the answer to your question, I will defer to others with better knowledge or experience than me.
  12. Book the cruise you want now with a refundable deposit and if a better offer comes along switch to that. Or save a few bucks, book a non-refundable deposit and if a better deal come along, switch to that and pay the $100 per person change fee.
  13. Are you saying that a solo cruiser has to pay for two people with AI because it's part of your cruise fare? For example if I book a 8 NIGHT ARUBA, BONAIRE & CURACAO cruise on Reflection. the Cruise-Only fare would be $1611, All Included fare would be $2814. That's $1203 for 8 nights => $150 per night. Cruise Only gratuities would be $140, gratuities would be include in All Included. For a couple the price breaks down to Cruise Only $799 per person, All included $1396 per person. So yes, solo sailors pay twice as much per day per person as a couple.
  14. One of the other cruise-critics was told by customer service Celebrity branded canned water, sodas, premium coffee and tea are now include in the base fare. These changes are suppose to take place in early January 2023. X is basically giving everyone the old Classic non-alcoholic beverage package for free.
  15. You're right it makes sense for couple to purchase AI if they plan on drinking more than the bare minimum number of beverages. For solo sailors such as myself AI will cost about $150 /day. Applying the same math, gratuities $17.50 pppd, WiFi, $10 pppd (value to us, not what Celebrity charges) that leaves $122.50 per day for beverages, if I factor in port days where I'm off the ship most days, it makes sense just to pay as you drink.
  16. I'm just reporting what the Celebrity App says in preparation for my upcoming cruise. (We all know how mistake-free the app is. 😃) I will finally be there in person in a few weeks and will be able to give a definitive answer then.
  17. The way I've interpreted Celebrity's policy is that if one person in a stateroom wants to purchase a beverage package all passengers in the same cabin have to purchase a package, either classic, premium or zero proof but that the packages don't have to be the same. One partner can buy the premium package and the other can buy the zero proof package. I'm also pretty sure that if one person wants the zero proof package rather than an alcohol based package they aren't going to require documentation of need, they will just take your word.
  18. I have yet to visit WCB. Will be sailing Beyond in a few weeks. I made these notes based on the App and photos people have posted in their cruise reviews. I can't comment on the atmosphere regarding beer and wine but they are listed in the app.
  19. Don Julio Reposado Tequila, Sherry Wine, fresh cilantro, lime juice, agave syrup, and a bite of jalapeño finishes this savory cocktail with a sizzle. American Pie Cocktail $15 The bold spicy complexity of Bulleit Bourbon Frontier Whiskey and warmth of apple cider with brown sugar best describes this cocktail as a symbol of prosperity celebrating things as American as apple pie. Above the Clouds $20 Journey above the clouds and experience spellbinding flavors with deep aromas In a glass of Full-bodied Zacapa XO Rum Infused with Applewood smoke. Rose Water $15 For centuries, rose water has been used for a variety of beauty & health applications. and self-Indulgence should be no exception. Ketel One Vodka, Italian wine-based aperitif, watermelon syrup, fresh lime juice, hibiscus salt. and a spritz of rose water Is your remedy. They also have numerous wines and beers listed but since I don't drink wine or beer I didn't transcribe them. Look in the Celebrity App for the World Class Bar if you are interested.
  20. FYI, the cover charge for Le Grand Bistro is now $30 + 18% service charge. You can't reserve it pre-cruise but you may be able to once on board.
  21. Regarding the gratuities, they add and 18% service charge to the package price you see advertised.
  22. Package can include Eden not special dinners such as Chef's Table, Magic Carpet on the Edge, or Veuve Clicquot dinner. The biggest downside with the packages is you cannot reserve the specific Specialty Restaurant or the desired time until you board the ship and talk to the M`D. By then, many of the desirable times will be gone and you are stuck with what's left. If you want to dine at 7:00 pm, most popular venues will be sold at. They will offer you a 9:00 pm time slot instead.
  23. it includes premium bottled water from Evian, Perrier, San Pellegrino, & Panna. Specialty Coffees & Organic Teas, Red Bull Energy Drink, Frozen Smoothies, Zero Proof Cocktails, Coca-Cola selections, offerings from Vitamin Water, Aqua Spa Fresh Juice, and Bottled Iced Teas. If one doesn't purchase a beverage package you can still enjoy Celebrity branded water in a can, canned sodas and non alcoholic specialty coffees per Amhere219's comment which is different than it has been. Previously people without a beverage package were restricted to coffee, tea and juices from the fountain dispenser in Oceanview Café.
  24. The Daily Planner for the current Beyond cruise (Dec. 18 - 26) shows both daily Catholic masses as well as Chanukah services. They also have a non-denominational service on Christmas Day. You can check your specific ship in the Celebrity App.
