  1. I think you are confusing a non-stop flight (with NO stops) and direct flight (same plane, same flight number, but it makes a stop(s) along the route). Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with taking that flight(although I'm sure many people on here would disagree with me about that). I would be much more concerned about a direct flight because even though you stay on board, there is always an additional chance of a delay each time the plane stops.
  2. Where are you flying from and where is your layover?
  3. Luckily, it sounds like she didn't have any issues between her flights, but given a choice she would have been better off with a non-stop over a direct flight.
  4. All of the a-list celebrities were probably too expensive for Carnival, so they took someone that was within their budget. 🤔
  5. I often will fly in the morning of the cruise. I have even flown to Rome (including changing planes in London), landing the morning of the cruise to make connections for the two hour transfer to Civitavecchia for a 32-day B2B2B cruise. Although, I did get the airfare and insurance from Carnival that time.
  6. I really don't think it makes much difference what the location is with an inside cabin. It's not like one is going to have a better view or anything like that. Maybe a bit more noise or movement in some locations, but other than that the rooms are all pretty much the same. None of the rooms are that far to walk to an elevator, and it's not much difference between taking the elevator up one floor or eight floors. Have a great cruise.
  7. Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao ABC Islands, are the westernmost isles of the Leeward Antilles
  8. Sorry you will have to miss your cruises. More importantly, hope everything goes well with your surgery and wish you a speedy recovery 🙏.
  9. I think you mean unlimited data, not wifi. Also, the speed of the high speed data varies by country. Much of the Caribbean will be at 256Kbps, while other areas are higher speeds.
  10. Carnival Corporation EVP Joins International Initiative to Reduce Food Loss: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/carnival-corporation-evp-joins-international-initiative-to-reduce-food-loss-302105727.html How will this impact how Carnival serves their food or their portions?
  11. We rented a 7-passenger car in Juneau last August for our party of 6 for under $200 total. We drove to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center and spent a couple hours there. According to the website, "day use passes sell for $5 per person", but when we got there we were told admission was free. Considering Carnival's 3-hour bus excursion to Mendenhall would have cost $54.99 per person, or $329.94 for our group, we were already ahead over $125😀. We had planned on hiking some of the trails, but it was raining so hard we decided against it, and we were happy that we hadn't pre-paid for any hiking excursions. We spent a few hours just driving around sight-seeing at our own pace, did a little shopping and had diner at a nice seafood place outside of town. We just rented another car for our upcoming trip where we'll be in Ketchikan on April 25th. This time it will only be the two of us so we got a 2-passenger gas SmartCar, which is small enough for even the narrowest streets in Ketchikan. They also had electric, but I didn't want to worry about returning it charged. The car cost $84.20 total (other than the cost of a few gallons of gas), so again less then any of the available excursions, and we will be able to explore at our own pace. There is quite a bit to see within walking distance in Ketchikan, which we will do, but also want to see the surrounding area this time. We rented through Turo. It's car sharing, like Airbnb for cars, so each car is individually owned. Note: If you plan on using Turo, make sure you put the actual address of the port as the pick up & drop off when checking prices. Some will include the cruise port pick up, others can add $20 to $50 for that, or you might have to find other transportation to the car's location. The two prices that I mentioned were total including all fees, taxes and picking up at the port (not including the cost of gas) and we declined their insurance.
  12. Remember sunscreen always goes on first, then the insect repellent with DEET. If you go the other way, DEET can decrease sunscreen's effectiveness and the sunscreen will block the 'vapor barrier' from the DEET, thus reducing it's ability to repel the mosquitos.
  13. One additional tip. The bags tear very easily. If you wrap a layer of packing tape around the top of the bag before you fill it, it makes it much easier to fill without tearing. I know everyone doesn't carry tape with them, but a small roll comes in handy quiet often (such as attaching bag tags, as a back up to the luggage tag holders)
  14. In this case, it seems like Weinstein was talking about the best overall itinerary in terms or profitability. Asking "what is the best overall itinerary" is almost like asking what is the best food. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. Best for one person isn't necessarily what someone else would consider best.
