  1. Pickleball started in the 1960s. Popular then in the US and Western Canada. Popular now because courts are smaller and less expensive. Also because lots easier for those that are a bit older and less mobile.
  2. To the OP. Until 30 days out no way to tell as TAs have cabins blocked that may or may not be sold but on any site show as unavailable. For example at least 8 cabins were turned back last week for a TRANSATLANTIC that was 30 days out by one TA. Looking at a couple categories will give you a general idea. That's all. Usually a bit clearer after final payment date.
  3. Never seen that one. Had Bigelow and no name in wall dispenser last cruise.
  4. You need just the numbers to complete the check in. Just type in the number and issue and expiry dates. Hopefully have a photo on your phone of each to upload. Makes no difference where you live. Same procedure. The checkin took me 5 minutes. All done except health check just before boarding. Not worth waiting to complete later.
  5. And Princess and likely the others. We turn on the video when we get to our room.
  6. You are making it too hard. Butlers are used to you making a verbal request and them writing it down. If you give them a list they will simply copy it in their notebook so ALL the requests from ALL their cabins are in the same place. Your best appreciation is a tip AND a great review.
  7. Local security does usually glance at ID - checked at every port on last two cruises, even Greenland. They look to see you have a Seapass and "a" drivers license. Have switched with other family members so check is not intense.
  8. Am baffled about the concerns for weather on a TA. For the main leg from the US to Europe the captain can vary their course a couple hundred miles either north or south to avoid most rough weather. The roughest weather I have seen on a cruise ship was in the Caribbean near Jamaica- not Antarctica or Norway or the Atlantic.
  9. The full procedure is on the website. Simply put put your suitcases on your bed. Toss all the things from you bath and drawers in the cases. Leave anything on hangers. Your steward will move everything to your new cabin.
  10. On Summit DW used promo chips on RED or BLACK. Understand it varies. Playing blackjack I bet the promo chips and was told I got cashable/real chips for my winnings and the promo bet chip returned to me. Next night I complained and I got all regular chips on a winning bet.
  11. That is news to me. Just got an email with what is a change - all people in a cabin "must" check in at the same time.
  12. How would you get the various unions to do it? Am sure there are different unions all over the world with different work rules. One problem is cruiselines are not allowed to have anything to do with the bags until on the ship. If one is worried about proof of a bag being accepted simply quietly take a picture or two. We as said before always have a carryon with meds etc and two days of clothing on ships and planes. Back to the OP - A disappearing bag is rare.
  13. Tiles only work if another Samsung phone is within about 15'-25'. While this is a great discussion remember they had over 500000 misplaced bags at Schipol last year. A couple million bags in the US alone are delayed. The chance of your bag not getting the short distance to your cabin is very very small. If someone decides to steal tour bag and you see it heading from the terminal into town what do you do then? Your ship is departing shortly.
  14. Agree that your roll call and ports forum will help you find tours. On my upcoming cruise there are over 20 independent tours organized.
  15. They are mountain bikes. The route is on an abandoned highway with lots of rock falls.
  16. Don't carry a decibel meter but sure seems sound levels on all ship are getting louder. If the music or audio is too loud say something. If enough people ask the volume be reduced they will turn it down.
  17. Probably way to late even book most tours. Short season and very high demand this year.
  18. My DW and I thankfully have never had a bag permanently lost. However a couple suggestions. We always have a carryon with meds, toothbrush etc, but also 2 tops - DW, 2 polo shirts - me and 2 underwear for each and always travel in long pants. Enough to get us by for two days. As another said we also always cross pack clothing so a loss of one case not a total disaster. Like others disappointed at the response of Celebrity. While not free, Chase Shapphire offers full primary car insurance, travel insurance and other benefits. Jim wrote about it recently.
  19. You are there and would hear the news first. Think you heard it pretty much first. The rules change often.
  20. Clear to everyone. As you said you booked a passage that was cruising only. Your experience exactly why I use my TA. Nothing misunderstood. Celebrity like everyone has many inexperienced staff manning the phones. Easiest to fix on board.
  21. Did it a few years ago. We felt it was overpriced. Just remember asking about if food is great or a value will get you answers all over the place. Too subjective.
  22. Agree lobster is not the last night, but given the choice of a great shore excursion in Victoria and a warm water "lobster" - would always do the shore excursion.
  23. Welcome to cruise critic. A suggestion that using the search function at the top of the page will usually provide you the answer to your questions.
  24. Stupid is not curable. Agree very gross, so say something to a supervisor. They really unless dangerous do anything that would upset a guest.
